This Continuum is a an old Midi only version. The sensitivity is not so good as the new ones. No external effects are used."

Beat Freq Correction

video upload by Mike @ Artisan

"You can correct for the ever-increasing beat frequency when you go up the keyboard..a NUCLEUS trick!"

video upload by PFM Module

" Just got the Sequential Prophet X a few days ago. Spent a couple of days just playing presets until my fingers hurt. This is my first attempt for a big beat drums and bass techno hardware jam combining it with the Elektron Octatrack. Modified a PX preset that has percussion and synth sounds spread across the keyboard, with eight LFOS available per voice and an extensive mod matrix, you can do a lot of sound mangling. Octatrack providing sequencing, bass sounds and scratchy weirdness. Kept it short as the possibilities are endless for either machine, both together hurts my brain. More to come."

Restoring a Moog Minimoog: Repainting the keyboard base and cutting new felt

video upload by Voices of Echo

"In this video I repaint the keyboard base. I did 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of black paint, and 3 coats of clear coat! I only showed two coats for brevity.

I used Rustoleum primer, Rustoleum Satin Enamel black paint, and Rustoleum Satin Enamel Clearcoat.

It comes out great, and I think it'll last another 50 years. I also cut out new felt pads to go into the keyboard base."

Loopy Pro AUv3 Effects

video upload by boxoftextures

"Loopy Pro is great fun on its own but you can add AUv3 effects in several different ways. First is when you're recording (not shown in this video), second is adding an effect to an already existing loop, and third is by adding an effects bus and then sending other channels through it. Just a quick how-to to show how it's done."

Tiptop Buchla Tip No 1

video upload by Todd Barton

"This is a mini-series on the basics of the new Buchla & Tiptop Audio modules. This episode begins a series of Tips & Tricks. I'm really enjoying these modules and Tiptop has enthusiastically embraced the Buchla paradigm. The oscillators are sounding great and squarely in the Buchla ballpark.

"This Korg DW-6000 is fully functional and in great condition.

Korg's first digitally controlled analog synth hybrid; 8 sampled digital waveforms, analog resonant filter with separate VCF and VCA ADBSSR envelopes. Parameters can be altered in real time via a single programmable slider. 6 voice polyphony in two modes, or one monophonic mode with all six voices stacked. 12 digital oscillators (2 per voice) with 8 simple to complex waveforms, 1 de-tunable and with programmable interval. 64 presets that can be reprogrammed by the user.

Awesome fat basses, lovely warm sounding, pulsing strings, and hard, nasal leads. Some wonderful swirling effects can be found. Imagine a Poly 800 with 8 waveforms instead of 2, and you get the picture."

"This unit have a very deep restoration process and now is working like new.

Briefing list of restoration is:

- Front panel and chassis restoration, new painting and new silkscreen.

- Full polarized recap.

- New trimmer, for better accuracy

- Genuine circuit parts for the repair

- Intensive cleaning for keys, contacts, switches and potentiometers. All smooth now.

- New jacks and sockets for excellent performance.

Added the LFO signal out replacing the front panel gate out socket, you have the same output at the rear, from origin this was duplicated output so we use the front panel gate out for have the LFO output and you still have the same feature at rear. The modification is reversible without need to alter the shape of the instrument, just changing internal wiring.

The unit is restored and have an excellent working condition and awesome sound. The unit is keeping the original design and parts, so you will have the same sound and behavior of an early vintage analog synthesizer like it is. Customer must know the nature and way of use of this kind of instrument, non digital, pre-midi, non memories, need warm up process for stable tuning... all the typical of this kind of instruments."

The new OS also added an enhanced programmable 32-band vocoder. There are now up to 82 simultaneous effects, a retro-phaser (6-stage stereo phaser with 24 filter-poles), chorus/flanger, ring modulator, multiple forms of distortion, an analog boost algorithm, and an envelope follower. Up to five FM (Frequency Modulation) modes are also on-board now and many new sounds have been created for this bigger and better version of the Virus. Comes with soft shell case."

"Almost every single capacitor was replaced, most of the 4000 series chips were socketed and replaced along with most of the opamps.

It plays great but I did just notice if you have synthesizer bass 16 footage turned on the bass note at the keysplit makes a pulsing noise.

Other than that one issue it's great."

I used the notes in steps 1-8 in track 2 to improvise with using the Stutter function, without using the keyboard :-) The bass was a tie note and only one note was put in for a long time, but the movement was added by the Parameter Lock function.
