09- The Baldwin Fun Machine-Rhythm Section pt. 1

video upload by AutomaticGainsay

"Here is part 1 of a two-part exploration of the accompaniment functionality of the Baldwin Fun Machine."

AutomaticGainsay Baldwin Fun Machine posts

Pure 💧 (Moog - Matriarch // Waldorf - M) - sequenced by the Matriarch's SEQ, no external FX.

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"Do these 2 astounding synths need external effects to sound good? Let's hear the pure sound of the Moog - Matriarch and Waldorf - M! (some EQ/comp were used only for mixing purposes).

I used the Matriarch's internal sequencer to trigger the M which was playing in its 4-part multi-timbral mode. I faded in each of the parts (1 of the 4 parts also had the M's arpeggiator active on it).
I also used the Matriarch's internal analog stereo delay, which was modulated by 1 of the Matriarch's LFO as seen by the patching on the video."

Daybreak by Audio Illustrator

via supporting member, James Newman, aka Audio Illustrator.

"A new track for a new album.

Daybreak is the 1st song on a new album I am currently working on called "Illumination in the Final Dark Age".

I'm mixing elements and styles of Pink Floyd with Medieval instruments and some orchestral textures thrown in to see what comes out this time. :)

I hope you enjoy it. PS...No Behringer Model D was harmed in the making of this production...only well used! :)"

Andromeda A6 Free Sounds No talking

video upload by David Bessell

"10 free sounds from my personal collection. Go here to download the Sysex files.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/s3sa4k95mqw...

Midi Ox will work to load them into the A6. The sounds make creative use of the A6 gain structure so the levels vary quite a bit. I haven't normalised them in this video so you hear exactly what you get. Usually I avoid the inbuilt FX but not entirely. Most of the patches would benefit from suitable external FX. (I add Eventide Space when I'm using them in a track). I sometimes use the aux outs as well as the main outs so if any of the patches make no sound check the output assignments. You can hear these and other sounds on the A6 being used in a more musical context on my DiN and Groove Unlimited releases. Have a nice day. db

New Maplin 5600s DIY Build Based on the Raspberry Pi

video uploads by Derek Walker

"Maplin 5600s Build - pictures & videos of the build in chronological order from the beginning of the project, August 2018, to the end, June 2019."

via http://www.bygonebytes.co.uk/Maplin_5600.html

"I recently came accoss the contruction manual for my Maplin 3800 synthesiser and flicking through it I wondered would it be possible to build the 5600s systhesiser today, August 2018, nearly four decades on.

With the passage of so much time there will be a few challenges to overcome namely component obsolescence. Integrated circuits, spring line, patch board, keyboard but to name a few. Please read the 'Hindsight Engineering' section at the end of the page.

On the positive side the build process should be simpler. For me the circuit boards will be easier to produce, no more ferric chloride, bubble etch tanks, spraying copper clad board with photo resist varnish and so on. Just produce the gerber files (I used EasyEDA) and send them off to JLCPCB.

I'm still considering what to do about the patch bay, try to source one or simply bring the inputs/outputs to limited number small jack sockets so they can be 'jumpered' - no room for 900 sockets!

I am also considering usng the Raspberry Pi instead of a keyboard either as a sequencer or as a 'soft' keyboard. I will re-hash my sequencer program for use with the 7" touchscreen and find a space to fit it on the panel."

Synthesizer impovisation on MPC One, Yamaha EX5, Novation Peak, Motorsynth, Guitar, Piano

video upload by Floyd Steinberg

"Are you feeling a bit more happy and cheerful today than you'd like to be? We have a fix for that. ;-) This is fully improvised. #MPCOne is playing the 808 drums, #YamahaEX5 the "Big Bad Pad" from my patch set, Peak is doing the arpeggiated notes and #MotorSynth is used for a short solo in the middle part. Guitar is in Humbucker mode, using a compressor, Iridium, Zoom Noisegate, Zoom Chorus, Volante, Nightsky signal chain. Piano was recorded as-is."

"Beautiful Buchla music easel clone with 208 module and 218 keyboard in a Halliburton case with integrated power supply.

Professional quality build and the classical look from the original Music Easel. I have owned a reissue Music Easel and this clone smokes it sound wise. Beautiful ethereal sound or dynamic percussive sounds. It is just simply wonderfully musical. A beautiful and inspiring instrument."

JASON BASSON - YOU GIVE THE WORLD TO ME ( 4- TRACK INSTRUMENTAL VERSION )

video upload by Jason Basson

"I bought recently a very nice vintage organ. In a video I had heard that its rhythms section sounded very nice. I prepared a rhythm on it ( by pushing several buttons at the same time, this gives you a new rhythm! ). I wanted to stay in the vintage environment and I searched a nice sound on the Roland SH-2000. Then I choose a phaser wave on my Siel Flying 49 and some stringsounds on my Eminent Solina String-Ensemble. This track will I also make with my Atari/Ableton with vocals of me and Lady Nathalie."

LYRA-8 // Tutorial for Calm Ambient Tracks

video upload by Dexba

"Many of you asked for it, and finally, here it is!
At first, I wasn't sure about what to put inside a basic tutorial like this, but then I realized it was more about the APPROACH, rather than the technical side, a little bit like nobody watch Bob Ross strictly because of his painting skill.
I had so much fun doing that, and I can't wait to make more, and... get better at it!
Hope you'll enjoy it and find it useful enough 🧡"

LYRA-8 // it's not the destination, it's the journey

video upload by Dexba

"This is the jam I ended up with, following the process I described in the previous video.
This time we're taking it slower, calmer, less creepy, and I felt like that was the case, especially during these challenging times.
Enjoy ✨"

Wingie 2

video upload by Robin Rimbaud-Scanner

"First play with the Wingie 2 designed by the even inspiring Meng Qi. This is a handheld stereo resonator with built-in microphones that also doubles as a development board. Its dual onboard microphones allow you to interact and enrich vocals as well as the sonic environment around you. So, as an experiment I decided to only use the microphone and create a piece in 30 minutes. What a wonderfully inspiring little instrument/processor this is!

OB-E Oberheim 8 Voice - GForce Software Overview

video upload by sonicstate

"Our friends over at GForce Software sure take their time over their instruments, so its surprising that the rate of release this year has been positively light-speed compared to previous years. Just a couple of weeks back the OB-E V2 was released, which adds PC support and is M1 silicon native, as well as new features including Drum Mode, Vintage control and other tweaks."
