Sequential Pro 3 - Custom tweaking dark sounds

video upload by Infested Alien

Aureate 📀 (Sequential Take 5 // Elektron Digitone + Red Panda Particle + Strymon Deco 2) Chords Jam

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"No sequencers were harmed during this recording! 😄 Just wanted to roam with some chords played live on the Take 5 analog synth. Further on I introduced the Digitone FM synth where I used 3 tracks (with 3 different sounds), where 2 of the tracks have their integrated ARPEGGIO enabled, with different settings in order to add some rhythmic complexity to the jam 🥁

The Digitone is being fed into the Particle 2 granular delay then the Deco pedal, in order to add random variations to the FM sounds and some kind of LO-FI vibes!

The MIDI Out of the Take 5 synth is triggering the Digitone. Hence both synths are playing the same notes. However the 2 ARPs on the Digitone help bring the syncopated sounds.

I think that the blending of the analog and digital synths here, makes the global sound and texture of this jam sound quite interesting! Hope you liked it too? 😊

* Hardware used *

// PADS:
- Sequential Take 5 (5-voice analog synth)

// CHIMES:
- Elektron Digitone (8-voice FM groovebox) + Red Panda Particle 2 (granular delay and pitch shifter) + Strymon Deco 2 (tape saturation & doubletracker)"

Trigon 6 and Pro 3 - compared on low level

video upload by Infested Alien

"These types of comparison are super booring to watch. But what I've notice is that these two machines are more different at the lower basic blocks that I could imagen. This video do not compare out of reach functionality between machines. Else the pro 3 really pushes the limits way futher compared to a analog poly like Trigon 6 etc.

Conclusion: (subjective)
Pro 3 is more noticable at lower frequencies and also higher.
Pro 3 can be pusched really hard in signal path.

Trigon 6 is more smooth with completely different Saw + Tri sound.
Trigon 6 filter feels more like a hybrid between a moog and TB in some points. Very interesting.

A mono is intended to be way more "aggressive" than a poly for a simple reason. A poly would be rendered useless if the signal path would be to loud in terms of more voices at same time compared to mono."

AtoVProject - Dual Harmonic Oscillator (DHO) Sound demo

video upload by NOISEBUG

"We are pleased to present the Dual Harmonic Oscillator (DHO)!

Complex oscillators are renowned for their amazing sonic potential, yet they can be challenging to fully exploit due to the many modulators they require.

The DHO is a true analog sonic powerhouse. We used the power of digital controls to improve accessibility and inspiration. Each analog oscillator generates four octaves of triangle waves and modulates each other using through-zero FM. All of this is channeled through a scorching four-stage diode wavefolder.

But that's not the end! The DHO is under digital command, opening up a universe of possibilities. We've harnessed the power of simplex noise, an algorithm straight out of the video game industry. One twist of a knob allows you to dynamically modulate 10 parameters. You can explore infinite soundscapes and give life to the whole module with just one CV input. This fantastical noise source can also direct the frequencies of up to 10 internal LFOs, injecting motion and complexity into your sound without cluttering your rack with external modulation sources.

Did we mention that it has haptic feedback!? Yes, the DHO vibrates to talk to you and give you information about what’s going on!

We’ve spent the last two years refining our design language, and this is the first product emerging from this journey. Discover the AtoVproject ways and explore new sonic horizons with the DHO!"

Official Alesis Andromeda A6 Introduction Video (Synth Demo Promotional Reel) - VHS Source Copy

video upload by OldManZero

"I came across this old VHS that had an "introduction video" for the Alesis Andromeda synthesizer. The quality is OK, but there may be better sources out there as my copy was re-used. Under the labels for the promotional video, you can see that the tape was originally an Alesis Masterlink demo video. They just copied over it and added new labels.

The full video had this segment repeated over and over again for about an hour. I guess this was to play on screens at trade shows or music stores to drum up interest.

The demo sounds don't really hold up to today's standards or to what the A6 can actually do, but Alesis seemed to want to cater to the more upscale client that could actually afford the $3K price tag when it was released. (Think studio or session players.). So the sounds shown seem to cater to them. You do seem to hear a few snippets of actual crazy Andromeda sounds here and there though. What you see and hear here is peak late '90's/early 00's through and through."

Behringer - UBXa with Walrus Audio Sloer

"Patches will be available at https://www.orano.co.uk/shop or http://www.synthsounds.co.uk

First Day with the UBXa and I am impressed, it's Fat! and very expressive.
The Poly aftertouch and 16 voices in this synth make it very much worth the money. it's early days but so far I am liking the sound!"

"Classic and amazing Waldorf Q Rack synth. It is in full working condition, ALL buttons, encoders, jacks, display, wheels etc all work like they should. No encoder skipping.. they all work.

These synths are getting VERY hard to find..the sound has always reminded me of if a PPG and an Oberheim Xpander were to merge : ) Very deep and lush sound. The pads and strings are amazing, the ambient textures and drones are superb. And of course the basses and leads are SOLID!"

Patches on the fly - 22 things to do with a SAWTOOTH

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Some synth programming tips using nothing but a sawtooth (and a sub here and there). I've used a Jupiter 4 again as it's easy to follow the patches on anything because the faders are nice and clear to read.

These are all little stepping stones to generating your own patches or fitting something similar in the mix. Follow this and my other programming tips and you'll soon be confident to create your own or edit presets to fit your tracks."

“Myoglobin: A Protein Primer” with music created on a Moog modular by Gino Piserchio

video upload by Robotussin Vintage Synths

"Lovely wonky transfer of a 1971 science film called 'Myoglobin: A Protein Primer' with music created on a Moog modular by Gino Piserchio, who was a composer and actor who had featured in a few films by Andy Warhol. Piserchio died in 1989 aged just 44.

I find this film very soothing, mainly due to the soundtrack, the beautifully degraded quality of the film, and the blissed-out narration."

ULT-SOUND DS-4M : first jam

video upload by Freaky Tweaky

"The DS-4 drum synth, which was released by Toyo Gakki in the 1980s under the 'ULT--SOUND' brand and was used by the drummers of Japan's leading techno-pop group, has been revived in modern times.

While faithfully reproducing the circuit configuration of the original (early model), CV/GATE input terminals for each channel have been added to allow for cooperation with modular synths, etc., making it even more comfortable to use as a production tool."
