OB-X8 - Firmware 2.0 - Binaural Mode & Poly Chain
video upload by Scott McAuley Sounds
"Patches will be available at https://www.orano.co.uk/shop or http://www.synthsounds.co.uk
So the @Oberheim team have let us all in for an unexpected and very exciting surprise! The newly released Firmware 2.0 has taken what was an incredible instrument to completely new levels!
Multiple Wave Shape Selection/Combinations - adding to the OB-X8's sonic capabilities!
An additional 4 Pole Bass Compensated resonant filter (which sounds amazing!)
New Doubles+ & Split+ Banks, which allow independent editing and saving of patches without the need to point them towards single sounds in the main banks!
Binaural Mode! - YES Binaural Mode!
MPE Compatable
Poly Chain for up to 4 units which would give the user 32 voices of pure OB goodness! and much more!
I invested in the OB-X8 desktop which now gives me 16 voices of incredible sound! - This video is really just to let you hear the Poly Chain & Binaural sound in action,
it's only my first day playing with this new firmware, but thought you would all love to hear how it actually sounds.
Video is completely dry, no effects, just a little bit of compression and limiting to catch any peaks.
Enjoy!
SM!"
Dr. Endo explores LIVEN Ambient Ø - #3
video upload by SONICWARE
"LIVEN Ambient Ø | Soundscape Synthesizer
https://sonicware.jp/pages/liven-ambient
It was raining yesterday, so I took the Ambient Ø outside and made music as the mood took me.
The ambient music that is created by mixing the surrounding environmental noises with the sound of the Ambient Ø captures and records the exact moment, so it's like a sound diary, which is fun.

"For sale is a very rare Fenix IID analog modular synthesizer. A very limited number of these were ever built and they are based on vactrols instead of ICs. It's a great sounding analog synth, unique tone made famous by users including Aphex Twin. Loads of patching possibilities in a compact package. Includes external power supply. Grab this while you can before it's gone!"

Elektron Monomachine soundscape - Slumbering sorrow
video upload by MIDERA
"Wow - I had no idea how bad the dust would look under the light… but it certainly looks bad. Well, guess it needs to be cleaned!
The Monomachine seems like an unlikely synth to use for an ambient soundtrack, but honestly, it sounds great.
I did try to load different sounds to use and switch between them, but the synth couldn’t handle that without strange glitching behavior (it can’t load different sounds fast enough using polyphonic voices).
Eventide Blackhole VST used for reverb."

"This is certainly a milestone release for the DiN label as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. Needless to say, this is quite an achievement for a niche, independent label that has relentlessly ploughed its own path for quarter of a century. Its catalogue and release schedule has been carefully curated over all these years by label boss Ian Boddy, who launched the imprint way back in the spring of 1999. It is perhaps a reflection of his own musical identity which, whilst grounded in the Berlin School of the 1970s, has continued to evolve and grow to cover ever widening areas of electronic music, where sub-genres can be mixed and matched at will.
There have been plenty of compilation albums released on the DiN label in the past, most notably the iNDEX sampler albums, of which there have been eight to date. These cover tracks from existing albums and are certainly a great showcase for the label. However, this double album is different, in that Boddy invited the majority of the musicians who have previously been released on the main DiN catalogue to compose new pieces. Spread across two discs, this amounts to 142 minutes of sublime, varied and thoroughly original music. Ranging from beautifully ambient to dark brooding soundscapes, via cinematic electronica through to old school Berlin School sequencer workouts, “25 Years of DiN” is a wonderful distillation of the DiN label.
Presented in a stunning six panel fold out Digipak double CD package with 8-page booklet featuring an essay by Neil Mason (Moonbuilding), this release is a must-have for collectors of the DiN labels output.

LOOPER and SYNTH // How Good Can It Be?
video upload by Woody Piano Shack
"BOSS RC-202 DESKTOP LOOPER combined with ARTURIA ASTROLAB emulations of ROLAND JUNO-6 is a fun combination indeed!
First steps with live looping with a synth, just using one track of the looper pedal today and the built-in cheezy drums that serve as a metronome.

ARP Omni-2 with Aftertouch + S&H Mod
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
video upload by New England Analog Archives
Note this demo is from 7 years ago.
"This video features an ARP Omni 2 synthesizer that has been modified with a custom LFO expander daughterboard. The PCB comes assembled and measures 2.7 x 3.2 cm.
This upgrade is simple to install, and it provides the LFO with 2 additional waveforms. A 3-position toggle switch controls the waveform selection. An adhesive-backed overlay decal is provided with the kit. The switch will allow sine, square, and random LFO waveforms to be selected. Kit includes instructions for expanding the range of Omni 2 VCF so that it can self-oscillate. This modification greatly expands the sonic possibilities of the ARP Omni. This kit will work on ARP Omni 1 as well. It can also be used to add an auxiliary sample and hold waveform to ARP Axxe, Odyssey, and Quadra LFOs."

"The unit has been well maintained and has had the following work/mods done:
Replaced the noisy ARP power supply with a Power One linear supply
Unit was completely recapped in 2015.
All analog ICs and digital ICs were replaced
All sliders removed and restored. All now move smoothly.
Slider caps replaced with new ones.
Pratt Read keyboard bushings replaced in 2015.
Aftertouch added to the keyboard.
Aftertouch amount is routed to the ACC/PEDAL slider. The aftertouch affects the VCF cutoff. Additional waveforms added to the LFO. Originally only had sine LFO. Added square and sample & hold LFO. Sample & hold is the same circuit as ARP Odyssey MK1 S&H. Sounds great. 4075 VCF module recapped and had the cutoff frequency design error corrected. (Originally there was a design error, keeping the cutoff from fully opening up)
The finish on this Omni is not pristine. When I got it, it had been neglected for years after being in storage. Cosmetically, this is a 6/10 as there is evidence of lots of use on the powder coating.
I've attached a video deomonstrating the LFO mod I did to this Omni. The unit in the video is actually this Omni, but I have since removed the LED sliders, since I thought they were annoying."

This time I was transported to the sea, with tiny sea creatures helping to create the sounds you’re hearing. Do you also see images when you’re creating or exploring sounds?
Thanks for sticking with me!"

Volca Modular - How To Make Square Wave PWM Noise - Advanced Tips & Tricks
video upload by ChrisLody
"Here's a bunch of tips to get a bit more out of the Korg Volca Modular. Using the gate input of Function 1 you can create square, pulse and pwm sounds as well as making shapeable noise and use the woggle at audio rate.
Patch cards for the stages along the way are available here and now include a version with an LFO sent to pulse width that uses a smoothed version of the gate as a simple envelope:

Rave Jam with Echo Cinematic and Poly Cinematic and friends
video upload by knobula
"Poly Cinematic sequenced through an Echo Cinematic. The eq on the echo cinematic means there no muddy bass frequencies being repeated and only the brighter notes catch the echo, then there’s a few builds where I’m turning up the band pass frequency on the echo and adding a bit of the reverb in as well. Finished off with some Kickain side chain pump action and percussion provided by @rocket_not wobbler, @endorphin.es Queen of Pentacles and dark pew pews from @busycircuits Taiko Daiko."

"New clip with Diode Dream Vcf ! 138bpm analog jam. Dpvco square wave goes into RF transistor mixer that goes into Diode Dream Vcf. A modified RD6 is used as drum machine. Listen to this glassy and bubbly resonance how beautiful it sounds especially when there is some fm amount from the vco !"

Akai AX73 - The White Analog | Short edit reupload
video upload by Espen Kraft
"This track is done with the Akai AX73 analog synth from the mid 80s. All sounds are coming from it except the kick drum which is Roland TR-808. And the crickets?.... they've been recorded in my own garden with a Zoom H1.
This is a short edit of a longer video I once had on my channel about the AX73.
This track "Indian Summer" is part of my album "Dreams" from 2022.
