"Introducing the ReSynthesizer!

The ReSynthesizer can trace its origins to Spring 2023, with Walker and Rodent putting together a collection of modules to announce and demonstrate the Soundhack Spectraphon at Superbooth ‘23. We knew that these modules would need to complement Spectraphon in a way that would show its true capabilities. As such, this specialized layout comprised a single-system overview of the last 8 years of Make Noise module designs.

After Superbooth Walker and Peter continued to use a similar system configuration in videos for our Youtube and Instagram Channels, prompting some folks to speculate if it was to be our new 7U system. At that time we had no plans for a new system; in fact, this layout had been intended as temporary all along, but we found that it made a useful layout in almost all cases and so we continued using it in videos anyway. (The layout even gained the popular unofficial moniker “System X” thanks to the speculative work of Cinematic Laboratory and others.) Choices like the unusual placement of the Morphagene, adjacent to Spectraphon, which we initially assumed would be mainly for a very specific use-case, quickly became second nature to patch. The Spectraphon and Morphagene work together to ReSynthesize raw materials into lush soundscapes, microsound manipulations, or wherever the path leads.

In early 2024, we announced DXG for the easy mixdown of mono or stereo signals, and PrssPnt to add physical touch interaction. With these pieces in place, the ReSynthesizer is born. Pairing the Spectraphon with the Morphagene and the core Make Noise CV generation suite, and housed in the powerful and portable 4 Zone CV Bus Case, the ReSynthesizer is an open design blackboard ready for experimentation and discovery.

We’ve put this collection through its paces and have found it to hold up to any test we throw at it— we can’t wait to hear what sounds you find with it!"

Arturia PolyBrute 12 - 64 Step Uplifting Dance Sequence

video upload by Scott McAuley Sounds

"Patches will be available at https://www.orano.co.uk/shop or http://www.synthsounds.co.uk

As you know I always like to test out the envelopes by creating apowerful pluck like sound, nothing better than that woody sound when the filter is low.
This also utilises the overdub ability of the sequencer, along with the motion record too.

quickly put a drum track over it to hear it in context. sounds very punchy :)"

Outside the box... in a box // Nice Ideas from the Kiviak WoFi

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Wo-Fi as in Lo-Fi - its got WiFi and it's Low Fi ... it's the Wo-Fi from Kiviak Instruments. It's a sampler giving us vintage 80s and 90s tones that sits in the modern studio with CV, MIDI, USB and yes... wifi

With emulations inspired by Akai S950, Emu SP-1200, Casio SK-1 and Yamaha VSS-30 you've got a whole load of vintage vibes at your fingertips.

In this demo I've explored it using drum loops which took me in a completely different direction than most demos I've heard. I thought they'd be an easier way to demonstrate the effect of the different 'machines' on the sound - and they really do sound great. Possibly another direction for future development to investigate expanding."

J3PO King Korg Neo Presets -- Official Sounds Demo

video upload by J3PO

"You can purchase the preset pack here:
https://www.julianpollack.com/shop
The introductory price is $29.

All FX (chorus, reverbs, delays, etc.) are coming from within the patches themselves i.e. there's no other external processing on this demo save for some slight light leveling/compression for the purpose of uploading to YouTube.

The King Korg Neo is an unexpected gem, challenging assumptions about what a compact, portable, digital synth can be. Its sound is both vibrant and complex, weaving warm, analog-like textures with modern digital tones that feel raw yet polished. With a bold 24-voice polyphony and versatile oscillators, the King Korg Neo manages to feel timeless and forward-looking, carrying an unmistakable authenticity.

I also have patches available for the Prophet Rev 2, Prophet 6, OB-6, OB-X8, Prophet 5/10, Softube Model 84, Model 72, Arturia OB-Xa, Arturia Stage-73 and many others. If you're a Nord Stage 3 user, download my bank from the Nord Keyboards website. I have a sample pack, "J3PO x The Ox" (hip hop and soul keyboard and drum loops) available on Splice.

About the sound designer: Julian “J3PO” Pollack is a Los Angeles-based pianist/keyboardist and producer described by Timeout New York as a musician who “deftly balances virtuosity with tenderness.” Julian is known for his innovative use of keyboards and synthesizers in jazz, fusion, hip-hop, and electronic styles of music. Julian has toured extensively with the legendary artists Marcus Miller and Chris Botti, as well as performing with greats such as Herbie Hancock, Talib Kweli, David Sanborn, Michael League, Eric Harland, and others. Julian has worked closely as a sound designer with keyboard/synth companies Nord Keyboards, Sequential, and Oberheim, and has created factory presets for the Prophet 5, the Oberheim OB-X8, Take 5, Nord Stage 3, Nord Wave 2, and many others. In addition to these hardware keyboard companies, Julian also has done sound design for Universal Audio, Softube, and Cherry Audio.

Currently, Julian works exclusively with Spectrasonics in Pasadena, California."

"This full-sized Ondes Martenot 'Ondomo Conservatoire DX-74' was handmade in Japan by Naoyuki Omo (owner of ASADEN) in 2022, and is one of only half a dozen similar instruments. It marks an evolution of a previous run of portable ondes Martenots ('Ondomo') manufactured by Naoyuki Omo, based on Maurice Martenot's final design, the Mk 7. The Ondomo Conservatoire DX-74 is a faithful recreation of the ondes Martenot, and comprises: a moveable keyboard (clavier mobile) of 74 keys, capable of vibrato via lateral motion. a ribbon/ring control (ruban/bague) adjacent to the keyboard, which permits glissando, vibrato and microtonal performance over multiple octaves. a control drawer (tiroir) with adjustable transparent expression key (touche d'intensité). illuminated controls for eight additive timbres which very closely emulate those of the Mk 7 (O - onde, C - creux, G - grande gambe, N - nasillard, T - tutti, 8 - octaviant, S - souffle, g - petite gambe (the last three with adjustable volume riders). gamelan buttons for playing quarter tones and various intervals in either ribbon or keyboard mode. a craquement switch which sets the keyboard to sustain or gate mode. an upper/lower note priority switch for the keyboard. an octave switch which affects the entire instrument. controls for adjusting the relative volumes and waveforms of timbres (e.g. pulse widths). volume controls for four outputs (D1, D2, D3, D4, where D = 'diffuseur', traditionally the principal, métallique, palme, résonance etc, but conceivably any passive or active speaker). and controls for automatic and manual tuning of the keyboard and ribbon, as well as adjustment of the keyboard vibrato sensitivity, ribbon tension, and touch d'intensité (volume button) sensitivity. The instrument comes with all its original accessories, a power supply, and box. It has detachable legs, leather carrying handle, protective lid, and integral 'rainbow' perspex music stand (not shown in the photo). There are two outputs, which provide the D1/2 and D3/4 outputs as stereo pairs. Note that the instrument is monophonic and has only audio outputs, not CV or MIDI. I have unpacked and assembled the instrument once, to test it, and found it to be in excellent working condition. It has all original accessories and box. I have been impressed with its tone and performance, and used an earlier model (the miniature Ondomo) extensively for performance and recording work (e.g. for Marvel Loki S1) - that instrument has also been used recently by Jonny Greenwood. The Conservatoire DX-74 has a very similar tonal quality to the original Ondomo, but benefits from greater versatility, sensitivity, and range."

"Scrooge is a sequenced malfunction generator, available as a 42 HP Eurorack module or semi-modular desktop synth. While you can convince it to deliver boomy kick drum sounds, clicky hi-hats or metallic snares, it would much rather be making glitchy artifacts, hollow crackles and horribly distorted growls. It contains a sophisticated and performance-oriented step sequencer with parameter locking and the possibility to control all steps across multiple tracks at once. Its 5 distinct and fully analog voices are made up of special circuits that work without dedicated power supplies, scrounging power from the sequencer control signals instead, which gives them an organic and unstable quality. As a bonus, it means you won’t have to power the unit itself if you sequence it from external gear.

5 distinct analog voices
device can work passively without a power supply if sequenced from external gear
each voice can be routed to either of 2 main outputs (headphone compatible)
individual voice outputs
individual voice CV inputs that respond well to audio signals
2 modulation tracks, individually routable to voices
2 modulation CV inputs
onboard step sequencer
parameter locking per step
"control all" mode (change parameters for several steps and tracks at once), great for interactive playing
arbitrary step length per track (up to 64 steps)
generative algorithm builds random variations on patterns (available while performing), or creates random patterns from scratch
pattern chaining (up to 32 patterns)
stores up to 128 patterns in 16 banks
microtiming
CV slew limiter per track
can sequence external gear
sync output
sync and reset inputs
MIDI input (TRS type A)"

Molli Looper is a realtime stereo effect for looping and filtering.
Intended mainly as a live performance tool, no preparation is needed to trigger loop rYouTubeecording - input is constantly recorded in the background to be triggered whenever it is needed.
Loop timing is synced to host clock, and can be adjusted from multi-bar loops right down to 16th note drills.
The looped or unlooped audio is then passed though a lowpass - neutral - highpass resonant filter, based on a 4 pole ladder design for lush analogue style sound.
You can use Molli Looper either as iOS Standalone app or as AUv3 plugin.
