Superbooth 2025 Sequential Oberheim Interview
video upload by Take the Fear out the Gear
"Hi everybody this time we bring you the Superbooth 2025 Sequential Oberheim Interview"
Still Underrated? Prophet X in 2025
video upload by No Time to Play
"The Prophet X was one of the first hybrid synthesizers I got. It combines two VCOs with two sample engines — a structure that was truly groundbreaking. Whether any successors will match it remains to be seen. It’s a fascinating and versatile instrument, though unfortunately it has been discontinued. The tool used for importing samples was developed by a third party, and honestly, it’s quite difficult to use. I think it’s a real shame — the lack of a truly user-friendly software companion held the Prophet X back. Otherwise, I believe it could have continued to sell well.
This video showcases some of the key features of the Prophet X. Hope you find it helpful!"

An Evening Together (Sequential Take 5, Novation Bass Station II and Launch Control XL 3)
video upload by MKustomAudio
"Some reworked and new tracks put together for a recent product performance/demonstration. Tracks start with a lighter/brighter feeling before transitioning to heavier/darker sound. The Novation Bass Station II and Sequential Take 5 were used for external synthesizers alongside backing tracks in Ableton, while the Novation Launch Control XL 3 was used for additional control/manipulation of tracks.

VGM #220: A Cyber's World? // DELTARUNE (Synth Pop Cover)
video upload by Amie Waters
"I had such a magical experience finally playing through DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 recently and I was genuinely inspired to get back at it, so look forward to more DELTARUNE covers soon! The reveal of Cyber Fields and the rhythmic elements in Chapter 2 were so much fun, and this track was just such a bop I knew it had to be my first cover upon coming back to the wacky world of Tricky Tony Fox."

Hurray... Take 5 and TEO 5 Desktop Units
video upload by Starsky Carr
TEO 5 announced here
"The Take 5 and Teo-5 from Sequential and Oberheim make fantastic desktop units. They feel like they were made for this form factor - no compromises, simply great sounding synths in a high quality enclosure. The keyboard versions may have felt lacking in keys (even though they have a great keybed) - just a bit too short for some. I found it was quite handy having one that could fit on my rack! But with these the only decision you have to make is which one is best for you.
Luckily I'm here to confuse you further (they both sound great)! The decision will be whether you prefer the Oberheim or Sequential style of VCO programming, the filters, and the X-Mod/FM. And these just so happen to be the bits I look at in this :)"

Press release follows:
Take Your Music to the Next Level with the Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module
San Francisco, CA – [July 1, 2025] – Sequential, a leading innovator in synthesizer technology, today announced the release of the Take 5 Desktop Module, bringing their legendary analog sound to a more compact and accessible form-factor.
Building on the success of the Take 5 keyboard, the desktop module offers the same powerful analog oscillators and filters that capture the iconic warmth and depth of the Prophet-5, enhanced with modern modulation and digital effects. The module delivers this sought-after sound in a space-saving design, perfect for studio setups and live performances where portability and efficiency are paramount.
"Ever since we launched the Take 5 keyboard, we’ve gotten repeated requests for a desktop module version, " says CEO David Gibbons. "And more recently, it seems that modules have really shot up in popularity. So, we're very excited to offer the Take 5 sound in a format that everyone seems to want."
The Take 5 Desktop Module provides the same hands-on, knob-based experience as its keyboard counterpart, allowing for intuitive sound design and real-time parameter adjustments. Users can delve deep into sound creation with controls that are simple and direct, making it fast and easy to polish your sound.
This synth fits perfectly in smaller studio or bedroom setups, and is easy to transport for live gigs, positioning The Take 5 desktop module to bring its signature Sequential sound to a wider audience than ever before. It's an instrument designed to make life easier and streamline the journey to making music and having fun.
The Take 5 desktop module is available now, with a US MAP price of $1,399.

Crossover w/ Rhodes MK2, Prophet-10, nord lead, Grandmother | Excitement 2025-06-28 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"A crossover track featuring Rhodes MK2, @NordKeyboards Nord Lead, @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, and @MoogSynthesizers Grandmother, where breakbeats intertwine with electric-piano and synth lines.
Rhodes MK2: Runs through a @BOSSinfoglobal BOSS CE-5 chorus, then the @ChaseBlissAudio GENERATIONcha LOSS MK II for tape-style lo-fi warmth.
Nord Lead: Plays the main synth lead, treated with reverb from @gfisys Specular Tempus.
Prophet-10: Swaps patches on the fly, adding abstract synth textures and additional leads.
Grandmother: Handles the bass line."

Faded photograph | Tranquil ambient with Rhodes piano, Prophet VS, Alvarez 12, and FM3 pedal
video upload by MIDERA
"It's been a month. As I said, my wife lost her job in May. We hoped she would get a job that seemed like a great fit, someone had reached out to her and said she'd be perfect. Guess they didn't think so later. Oh well.
I did manage to extract all the audio from my old Roland VS-840GX. I kind of wish I was still recording using that thing, it was so good for just sitting down without a screen and recording whatever I wanted, but using a DAW is just so much nicer.
I had half written the rhodes part on this track, when I ended up recording something else that I plan to put into a rock track (yes, I am trying to get back into writing that type of music). Came back to this last night and recorded this, with some changes. Funny how walking away and coming back to something helps you change it for the better.
I used the Fractal Audio FM3 as a looper to loop the first part and then played everything else over it. The Rhodes and Prophet VS was performed in one go, the guitar was done in a second round with Eventide Blackhole VST for reverb.
Well, I hope you enjoy this - my first track written in a month."
