GRINDCORE CINEMA presents
a TROGOTRONIC AUDIO INSTRUMENTS production
"Trogotronic Compilation II"

Join the stinking waxie hair-filled sound holes of the knuckle dragging subhumans in celebration of the very worst audio compositions submitted for disapproval to mark the milestone 400th release with our publishing partner Grindcore Karaoke : The Trogotronic Compilation II. Never in the history of humans has there been a collection of sounds so certain to repel even the most tolerant of friends, relatives, neighbors, trusted pets & most especially hominids of the fairer sex.

The selection process was tedious & habit forming as seen here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=cshqjUVY6y0 on our YouTube channel : www.youtube.com/user/trogotronic a fly on the wall look at Trogotronic brain trust Professor Rube & lab assistant Eyesly Dickenson deep in contemplation.

Trogotronic 676 & Makenoize Rene - range of sounds.

Published on Nov 22, 2012 by DJjondent
"This is a reply to a number of requests regarding the sound of the Trog 676 valve oscillator.
Just tweaking its VCO to demo its audio range.

The Rene touch sequencer outputs two CVs (x & y axis).

Named after the French philosopher & mathematician René Descartes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHihkRwisbE

The lovely thing about it (apart from the touch aspect) is that it doesn't run in a straight line.
It uses a Cartesian coordinate system:
http://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au/Glossary?a=M&t=Cartesian+coordinate+system
I'm using just 2 clocks here,but it can take 4 clocks & 2 CVs.

Great for composing complex musical patterns."

Trogotronic 665 Analog Synth

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated. via this auction

"Trogotronic gear is designed and built by W.T. Nelson of Bastard Noise / Man Is The Bastard. Here is the builders description of the device.

'The Trogotronic Model 665 Subterranean Analog Artifact Explorer: ideally suited for expeditions into the realm of analog higher-order thresholds whose existence is poorly addressed (more often forgotten completely) in the algorithms that math stooges write for large audio electronics firms who seek to capture real life analog circuits in stale equations computed by cheap microprocessors. Turbulent, complex and unstable areas of analog sound difficult to navigate let alone discover with even the most sophisticated and expensive analog synthesis gear are readily accessed with a twist of this eight-knobber. Sharp, ragged and searing solos tones; horrifying torturous particle blasts and soothing lengthy Venusian jungle bird calls that cycle lazily (with a bit of fine tuning exploration).

With an interface that is simple and concise but a range that spans great heights and depths, the 665 also transforms and modulates sounds that are sent through it'"

The Klirrfaktor: Trogotronic Noise (Trogotronic model 676 & Teenage Engineering OP-1)

YouTube Published on Sep 7, 2012 by TheKlirrfaktor

"All sounds (including drums, percussions etc.) made with Trogotronic Model 676 Fury M Series and sampled, edited & arranged with Teenage Engineering OP-1.
Voice with Qneo Voice Synth on iPhone (thru Trogotronic 676)

Mixdown & some edits in Logic Pro.

I'm not shure about the sound because I'm not at home & had to mix the track on some cheep iPhone earbuds :(

Okay - I did this track just 4 fun, messing around with this sick module, thinking the guys from Togotronic still don't know what it's doing - I don't know that too :D

So let's go noise!

Trogotronic Model 11 M Series Euro Module & Module Kit

via Trogotronic

"Introducing the first ever Trogotronic instrument offered as a kit in the grand tradition of the Benton Harbor greats. But she is also offered (for a “Few Dollars More”) as a complete module, the most economical choice if time is harder earned than cash.
Trogotronic Model 11 Series M

Traditional VCA
Trogotronic Style Performance Audio Controller
Trogotronic Style Performance CV Controller
CV Generator
Only 4hp Wide
180 Degree Control Array Orientation
Skiff friendly 1.6″ Depth
Superior Momentary Button Switch

This lithe lady can be used as an Audio Controller, a CV Generator, a CV Controller, and a VCA (all pretty much at the same time). The superb feel of the momentary button is no fluke; Years of searching a small mountain of buttons available on the American market yielded only specimens of over-sprung stiffness; poor choices for a musical work which demands correct weight & throw for deft performance. Finally we found what we were looking for in a tiny shop at a Japanese electronics bazaar. We arranged direct import of these hand-picked gems to Trogotronic—exclusively—for the sole purpose of destroying fascists the world over with sonic display.

Model 11M Kit consists of all 45 parts + a 2.5mm driver & a full color checklist / instructional for all 23 steps (eat your heart out P-Orridge). It does NOT include a toolkit or materials such as solder and all too rare common sense, patience, time & undivided attention (all of which are necessary to complete this modest build).

Assembled Model 11 comes complete with euro format mounting hardware & 2.5mm tool (as above kit) + owners card & instruction sheet as all of the Trogotronic M-Series modules do.

Trogotronic 333 vs Serge Creature

YouTube Published on Jun 15, 2012 by DJjondent

"This is primarily a test of the Trogotronic M Series 333 Eurorack module.
It's an envelope follower with an 9 "step" event sequencer.

An envelope follower takes an audio input and converts it into a control voltage.
This control voltage will rise and fall with the overall volume of the input signal.
The louder the input, the bigger the output of the envelope follower.

The trog works pretty well I think. I used the snazzy fx (Arduino based) ArdCore to supply the tune. The audio signals from the Ardcore weren't loud enough on their own to
trigger the 333 so I boosted the volume with a Circuit Abbey Gozinta

The setting for attack - uppermost right dial on the trog is pretty important to
get it to trigger well. If set too far clockwise the 333 may not respond.

Thanks to Matt from RhythmActive for the Trog 333, the ArdCore and the Gozinta

Metasonix R54 Vs Trogotronic M676 (The Final Conflict)

YouTube Published on Apr 24, 2012 by DJjondent

"Valve synth vs Valve synth with the humble Korg Monotribe as moderator.
Who will rule the world when its all over ?

For the record.
Sequencer: AcidLab autobot (trigger out 16" ---- sync in Monotribe)
As the Trog has 2 VCOs I duplicated the CV for both.
The R54 received only 1 CV but also received some LFO modulation from a Doepfer A145 LFO (triangle wave).
The trog also was modulated by a second A145.
Finally, Gate signals from the Autobot were passed to a Doepfer A140 ADSR envelope generator who's output modulated a Doepfer A130 VCA. (the very top right module).

A completely live recording. No post mastering, etc etc.
Thanks to Matt of RhythmActive for many of these modules.

Trogotronic 676 vs 666_1

YouTube Published on Apr 23, 2012 by DJjondent

"A friend of mine has asked me to compare the two modules.
So here goes.

Are they just noise machines.?
Are these musical?
Who cares??
They are handmade beasts.
If you like britney spears (no offence to B) this module is not for you.

I found that Both are really Really hard to tame.
But possibly the makers dont intend that they "behave".
In the 1st demo of the 676
Ive got a single CV signal from the Autobot (Miami acid) , duplicated and then
plugged into the OCS1 & OSC2 inputs on the 676.
I don't think its meant to track Hz/v or 1v/oct.

The other modulation inputs respond to LFOs and envelopes.
It has 5 CV inputs

Maybe a gate triggering an envelope might produce interesting results.
The 3 switches are described as normal (up) and mayhem (down).
I think this says it it all. :-)

Its Worth future experimentation if you like stepping outside the comfort zone

Beware ..the sound may be harsh for some.

I'll compare the trog 666 next

Thanks to Matt of Rhythmactive for the Trogotronic modules"

Trogotronic M666 demo

ublished on Apr 23, 2012 by DJjondent

"Ok now the 666... the number of the beast.
Im expecting the apocalypse now.

Its got 9 CV inputs.
Ive got the same single CV signal that I used with the 676.
Its from the Autobot (Miami acid) , duplicated and then
plugged into the OCS1 & OSC2 inputs.

Ive added 2 extra Cv signals from the snazzy FX.
OMG.,,, there are still 5 left unused

Lots of burp, fart and swarms of locust noises.

Thanks to Matt of Rhythmactive for the Trogotronic modules"
