Foltek Mescaline and POM 400 Part 2: Will it Techno?

video upload by Infin-D

"The patch here is basically the same as the last video, but I increased the tempo on the Mescaline trigger sequencer, tightened up the envelopes on the POM 400, and routed some modulation from the POM sample & hold to the Mescaline percussion voices. The sawtooth oscillator on the POM once again provides a dissonant, chirpy counterpoint.

All audio from the Mescaline is routed through the POM, gets some compression and reverb from the Zoom MS70 cdr+, and delay from the Korg NTS-1.

Recorded live on the Zoom L6, audio normalized in Audacity."

Foltek Mescaline and POM 400: Melodic Modular Magic

video upload by Infin-D

"The Folktek Mescaline lives up to its name, it reliably takes me to magical, trippy places. It's biggest weakness is the 'Channel' module, which generates rich polyphonic tones, but lacks envelope control, so basically it's a melodic drone. Enter the Teenage Engineering POM 400, with its dual envelope generators and VCA's. Now I can route the Mescaline voices through it, and triggered by its sequencer clock I can get nice snappy, plucky melodies- modular magic.

The Mescaline melodies and percussion are accompanied by the POM saw wave oscillator, outgoing audio gets some compression and reverb from the Zoom MS70 cdr+, and delay from the Korg NTS-1.

Recorded live on the Zoom L6, audio normalized in Audacity.

SOMA ROAT + Bastl Kastles: The Chaos Button Beckons

video upload by Infin-D

"I picked up a used SOMA Rumble of Ancient Times several weeks ago and have been messing around with this crazy little synth. The wonderfully noisy jams by @ImmerhinHalbzwo inspired me to finally do one of my own. The ROAT can sound lovely and melodic but it has this button labelled simply 'CHAOS'. Pushing it scrambles all of the parameters of the four synth voices in unpredictable ways, including how they react with each other. That's what's happening here, locking one or more of the oscillators into "drone" mode will sometimes cause a noisy, harsh modulation that is absolutely primal, hence the name of the thing.

Rhythm comes from the Bastl Kastle Drum, going through the Kastle 2 FX Wizard on the "Shifter" setting. They clock the looper on the ROAT and get some delay from the Korg NTS-1 MKii.

Recorded live on the Zoom L6, audio normalized in Audacity.

The Living Room - an idea/sketch Zoia, M8, Razzmatazz, NTS-3, MT-32 pi

video upload by Arman Bohn

"An 'in progress' sketch for an OST I'm working on.

My 2nd Zoia patch, 'Dream Shrine #2', is a four voice, generative synth thingy with master tempo and adjustable meter for each voice. The voices are routed through a reverb and ping-pong delay module. The four voices are also sending MIDI notes out on different channels - which are triggering 2 harp voices, a vibraphone and a celeste voice on the MT-32.

The Zoia patch is also sending clock sync out to the Razz to keep it in tempo. The M8 is playing back creepy public domain samples from an old-sci radio show about an alien that haunts your dreams called "The Green Thing".

NTS-3 is chopping the drums.

Not sure if this will be the final configuration - I'd like some bass in there as well. Just playing around at this point.

The album is an ambient-ish OST that should be out by this summer!"

Folktek Mescaline + Passive Operator: Melodic Malfunction

video upload by Infin-D

"The Folktek Mescaline delivers a nice rhythm and melodic drone, and the Error Instruments Passive Operator just gltiches it all up. The Passive Operator is running through the Meng Qi Wingie 2 Stereo Resonator. Vocal samples from the Bastl Wave Bard maybe give the whole thing some...context?

Delay provided by the Korg NTS-1.

Recorded live on the Zoom L6, audio normalized in Audacity.

Pro-One + SH-101 + Leploop + Edge = Jamuary Jamalog (take 2)

video upload by Infin-D

"Vintage synths, meet contemporary synths. The Leploop clocks everything, with clock division by the Mofenseef Pocket Clock-it. There's a resonant arpeggio on the SH-101, but the real star here is the Sequential Circuits Pro-One and its gnarly filter (also getting pitch CV from the Leploop). It's gets pretty noisy, but I like it noisy. Delay is added by the Korg NTS-1 MK II, mixed on the Yamaha KM802.

Recorded live on the Zoom L6, audio normalized in Audacity.

10/29/25 ARP 1613 + Metasonix R-54 53 52 51 56 + Zerosum ZI61 & VCA + MFB ADSR + OAM + MIDIVERB (…)

video upload by Cfpp0

"10/29/25 ARP 1613 + Metasonix R-54 & 56 & 53 & 52 & 51 + Zerosum Inertia ZI61 & Voltage Controlled Annihilation + MFB ADSR + OAM Time Machine + Alesis MIDIVERB 2

The ARP 1613 sequencer output A controls the Metasonix R-52 sweep CV in, which creates the high resonant rasp on the reversed quarter notes. The R-52 runs into the R-53, which adds the pitch to the R-52 rasp, then through the R-51, controlled by the MFB dual ADSR, gated by the ARP 1613 gate bus 3. This signal goes through the R-56 for more distortion and spring reverb—panned center on the Mackie Onyx 1640, with stereo room reverb from the Alesis MIDIVERB II. Meanwhile, the more mechanical-sounding squawk/chirp/scream loop is the ARP 1613 quantized output B controlling the pitch of the R-54, which runs through the Zerosum Inertia Voltage Controlled Annihilation, which runs through the Zerosum ZI61, high is controlled by the MFB dual ADSR, gated by the ARP 1613 gate bus 3. The ZI61 is panned left on the Mackie, but it also feeds the OAM Time Machine delay, which is panned center on the Mackie.

Sinevibes Luminance v2 & Hollow v2

video uploads by Sinevibes

Playlist:

1. Sinevibes Luminance v2 – on KORG minilogue xd
2. Sinevibes Luminance v2 – on KORG minilogue xd

via Sinevibes

"Luminance is a shimmer reverb plugin for KORG prologue, minilogue xd, NTS-1, NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3 and microKORG2. It’s a novel take on this highly coveted effect: an ethereal reverb whose tail gradually pitch-shifts itself upwards or downwards. The plugin is based on a feedback delay network with a built-in a granular pitch shifter and chorus-style modulation. Thanks to the very unique and meticulously executed tuning of its individual components, Luminance gently follows the original musical content and creates a rich background sound layer – reminiscent of a gorgeous, dreamy symphony of strings or pipe organs."

Sinevibes Hollow v2

video uploads by Sinevibes

Playlist:

1. Sinevibes Hollow v2 – on KORG NTS 3
2. Sinevibes Hollow v2 – on KORG minilogue xd

via Sinevibes

"Hollow is a vast space reverb plugin for KORG prologue, minilogue xd, NTS-1, NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3 and microKORG2. At its core is a feedback delay network – with as many as 64 connections – that produces a truly lush, almost three-dimensional reverb sound. With all settings maxed out, this engine is capable of tail times that exceed several minutes, while still having a smooth and naturally decay. The algorithm also features our trademark unison-style modulation via three phase-shifted sine oscillators, adding highly melodic depth and richness."

Standard Lody Acid - Sonicware CyDrums, Volca Bass, NTS-3

video upload by ChrisLody

"You may have noticed the complete lack of CyDrums tutorial on the channel despite being about 2 months since it was launched. Well events have conspired against me a bit on this one, I've just been too damn busy during the week and exhausted at the weekend to get it done. But, fingers crossed, I might have time to get it done soon.

With that in mind I thought it would be a good exercise to refresh my memory a bit on how it all works, so I plugged it in a within a few minutes I'd built a kit and I'd written a beat I really wanted to flesh out which is why this jam happened.

This is kind of my standard fare when it comes to jams like this. I think I've developed a bit of a groove that I tend to find comfy when it comes to the arrangement and I feel I was firmly sat in that today, hence the title. I probably need to learn some new tricks!

I've had the NTS-3 a while but it's not been used enough so far for me to really explore it so hopefully it will pop up more."

Viewing the the complex waveforms of the Gleeman Pentaphonic

video upload by Vintage Synthesizer Museum

"After posting some pics of the Gleeman Pentaphonic Friday, someone in the comments asked what ‘Comp1’ and Comp2’ were in the oscillator section were referring to. Well, according to the manual: The first two waveshapes are COMPlex 1 and COMPlex 2. These are two new complex waveshapes not usually found on a synthesizer and are included for their unique harmonic qualities. Here, we’re viewing the waveforms with the Korg NTS-2 oscilloscope. We currently have one of these oscilloscopes in the studio. If you’d like to see one of these at each of the mixer sections in the studio, let us know."
