1st Sonic Six: "The Moog Sonic Six is a rare, portable analog synthesizer with classic Moog tone and ladder filter, featuring dual VCOs, sample-and-hold, ring modulation, and a built-in speaker—all housed in a rugged suitcase-style design perfect for studio or stage. Its unique sound-shaping capabilities including X/Y modulation, and vintage character make it a prized collector’s piece and a powerful tool for experimental or classic analog synthesis. While this synthesizer is often offered by sellers at a "high on crack" price, I am pleased to offer this one for less than half of what some delusional synth dealers are trying to get for it.
The synthesizer is in good condition, but the original "Moog" logo sticker on the outside was peeled off. The power switch does not illuminate when the synthesizer is powered on. The synthesizer uses a standard IEC power cord, and one will be included. Please see photos.
This Moog Sonic Six has been serviced by Synthchaser in August 2025. Work done included:
Cleaned switches, pots and sliders
Refurbished keybed - new bushings, cleaned bus bars & contacts
Tuned & Calibrated Synthesizer"
2nd Sonic Six:
"This vintage Moog Sonic Six Suitcase Analog Synthesizer powers on and makes sound, but is being offered as-is at a discount due to cosmetic and functional issues. The A, X, and Y oscillators and the Moog Ladder filter appear to be working. This can be a great opportunity for someone willing to put a little work in to get this rare synthesizer below market. The synth is being sold as-is for parts or repair, with no returns.
Please see this video showing the functional status of the synthesizer. : [video above]
Issues I noticed (you may find other issues, but the synthesizer is still being sold as-is with no returns):
Cosmetic: A power cord has been hardwired to this unit in place of the power inlet. The exterior of the case is in rough looking condition and some screws are missing and things feel loose. The synthesizer is missing all knobs and switch caps. Some of the keys are stained. 2 rubber feet are missing, so the case needs something behind it to stay open when in use.
Functional: Oscillator B appears to be dead. The ring modulator appears to not be working (perhaps due to oscillator B not working, ring mod was not tested with external input). Key contacts are dirty and not working well, bushings need to be replaced. The contour generator appears to be broken. The Contour/Pitch Control pot for the filter was replaced with a pot that doesn't extend fully through the panel, so you can't use it. Pots, sliders and switches need cleaning. Calibration needed."

Whether you're diving into vintage sounds for your next project or expanding your studio's versatility, the FB-01 is your gateway to timeless tones.
This unit is in good working condition, with all functions and outputs tested and performing beautifully. Cosmetically, there are some surface marks consistent with its age, but nothing that detracts from its reliability or aesthetic charm. The front panel’s buttons and display are intact and fully operational, offering an intuitive way to navigate its impressive 240 preset voices. It’s an excellent choice for producers, sound designers, and performers who appreciate the gritty magic of early digital synths.

🌅 Retro Tides is a collection of 64 atmospheric presets for the Behringer UB-Xa analog synthesizer. It includes: 13 Pads, 13 Synths, 17 Keys, 8 Strings, and 13 Textures. Since the UB-Xa is a recreation of a vintage classic, this collection embraces its retro character—highlighting detuning, subtle noise, and analog warmth to evoke the sonic aesthetics of the 70s and 80s.
The presets are infused with nostalgic charm and are perfect for adding that vintage soul to your tracks.
📼 One of the unique features of the UB-Xa is its Atrophy profiles—emulations of various stages of vintage wear and drift. All presets and audio demos were created using the default Profile 1, but you're encouraged to explore them with other profiles to discover variations in brightness, tuning, and stereo width. This adds another layer of expression and depth to the sounds.
💎 Retro Tides offers a wide sonic palette, from dreamy pads and mellow keys to lush strings and expressive textures. Whether you're producing synthwave, ambient, cinematic, downtempo, or retro-inspired electronic music, these presets will help you capture a timeless analog feel.
🎛 Each preset is performance-ready, with velocity sensitivity and ModWheel assignments mapped for expressive control. The ModWheel introduces additional modulations — such as brightness or movement — offering creative flexibility for both studio production and live performance.

Whether you're exploring lush EPs, cinematic strings, or rich analogue synth tones, SV-2 delivers inspiring sound and responsive feel - all in a beautifully designed, retro-style chassis built for the stage."
"From vintage keys to acoustic pianos, classic synths to orchestral instruments, SV-2 is a performance keyboard that sounds and looks as good as its weighted keyboard feels to play."
The Sequential Take 5 desktop module brings the legendary Prophet-5 sound to your mix, featuring the analog oscillators and filter that transformed electronic music. Compact and powerful, it fits seamlessly into any studio and is easy to transport for live performances. Modern effects and a powerful modulation matrix deliver sounds to transport you.
Soundtrack exclusively by Take 5. Yes, even the drums! Composed by Peter Dyer.
"The Take 5 and Teo-5 from Sequential and Oberheim make fantastic desktop units. They feel like they were made for this form factor - no compromises, simply great sounding synths in a high quality enclosure. The keyboard versions may have felt lacking in keys (even though they have a great keybed) - just a bit too short for some. I found it was quite handy having one that could fit on my rack! But with these the only decision you have to make is which one is best for you.
Luckily I'm here to confuse you further (they both sound great)! The decision will be whether you prefer the Oberheim or Sequential style of VCO programming, the filters, and the X-Mod/FM. And these just so happen to be the bits I look at in this :)"

Take Your Music to the Next Level with the Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module
San Francisco, CA – [July 1, 2025] – Sequential, a leading innovator in synthesizer technology, today announced the release of the Take 5 Desktop Module, bringing their legendary analog sound to a more compact and accessible form-factor.
Building on the success of the Take 5 keyboard, the desktop module offers the same powerful analog oscillators and filters that capture the iconic warmth and depth of the Prophet-5, enhanced with modern modulation and digital effects. The module delivers this sought-after sound in a space-saving design, perfect for studio setups and live performances where portability and efficiency are paramount.
"Ever since we launched the Take 5 keyboard, we’ve gotten repeated requests for a desktop module version, " says CEO David Gibbons. "And more recently, it seems that modules have really shot up in popularity. So, we're very excited to offer the Take 5 sound in a format that everyone seems to want."
The Take 5 Desktop Module provides the same hands-on, knob-based experience as its keyboard counterpart, allowing for intuitive sound design and real-time parameter adjustments. Users can delve deep into sound creation with controls that are simple and direct, making it fast and easy to polish your sound.
This synth fits perfectly in smaller studio or bedroom setups, and is easy to transport for live gigs, positioning The Take 5 desktop module to bring its signature Sequential sound to a wider audience than ever before. It's an instrument designed to make life easier and streamline the journey to making music and having fun.
The Take 5 desktop module is available now, with a US MAP price of $1,399.
"This Yamaha CS-50 is a classic analog polyphonic synth that delivers warm, expressive tones with rich modulation and filter control. Known as the little brother to the legendary CS-80, the CS-50 carries much of the same sonic character—lush VCOs, a powerful resonant filter, and a smooth, dynamic response that makes it ideal for pads, leads, and atmospheric textures. This particular unit has been upgraded with a Kenton MIDI kit, giving it modern playability while keeping the original sound path fully intact.
The Kenton MIDI retrofit gives you note on/off control, pitch bend, and sustain over MIDI, allowing you to control this analog beast from any modern DAW or MIDI controller. It still functions just as it always has from the front panel—no limitations there—but with the added flexibility to drop it right into a current production setup. The synth is in solid shape, with the original wood panels, keybed, sliders, and case showing honest wear but fully functional. All controls are smooth, all keys and sliders work as expected, and it’s ready to go.
This is a hard-to-find synth on its own, and even harder to find with a Kenton MIDI upgrade already installed and tested. If you’re after vintage analog character with real-world usability in today’s studio, this CS-50 offers a serious combination of tone, playability, and legacy value."
"Cherry Audio’s ODC 2800 is an exceptional three-in-one virtual instrument that pays tribute to the legendary synth pioneer Alan R. Pearlman on the momentous 100th anniversary of his birth. This powerful synthesizer plugin draws inspiration from the revolutionary Odyssey analog duophonic synthesizer, launched by ARP Instruments in 1972. ODC 2800 not only provides an authentic reproduction of the sound and appearance of all three versions of the original hardware, but also enhances the experience with expanded polyphony, an additional oscillator and LFO, extensive modulation options, and support for both velocity and polyphonic aftertouch.
ODC 2800 also features a redesigned and intuitive integrated effects suite that simplifies the sound design process and improves usability. ODC 2800 offers the ultimate sonic journey through time, connecting the past of synthesis innovation with today's essential tools for music production!"
100 additional presets for Cherry Audio's ODC 2800 synthesizer by James Dyson that showcase its more atmospheric side in nine categories. Dive deep into advanced modulations, integrated effects, rhythmic arpeggiations, and aftertouch performance features.
Film composer and keyboardist Jezz Woodroffe (Black Sabbath, Robert Plant) on Cherry Audio's new ODC 2800 synthesizer:
"As soon as I knew Mark Barton was working on this, I knew it was going to be sound perfection. What's so brilliant about this is the extra oscillator, the three fabulous lockable UIs, the fantastic effects section, and the expanded panel for it and the keys. Without a doubt, it's a real classic updated design that Alan Pearlman would be thrilled to have seen and heard."
And the press release:
Cherry Audio is thrilled to announce the release of ODC 2800 synthesizer, a dazzling three-in-one virtual instrument inspired by the groundbreaking Odyssey synthesizer and a tribute to the legendary Alan R. Pearlman on the centennial of his birth. ODC 2800 expands upon the sound and capabilities of the original hardware by merging the classic innovations of the past with the tools and features essential for modern music production.
"On Christmas Eve, a demo was released highlighting the wonderful, odd, and charismatic Vintage Synthesizer made by Octave Electronics, the CAT SRM (1978).
This crazy CAT SRM synthesizer packs quite a lot into it's package, and can be dialed up to make sweet, calm Cat sounds, or very weird Sci-Fi and Noise sounds.
This CAT SRM was just repaired and restored by our shop Synth Tailor Electronics, this video demo is for Matt from Sensorium Studios.
History on Octave Electronics (later Octave Plateau) CAT SRM:
In 1978 Octave upgraded the Cat to the "Series Revised Model "(aka SRM). This added several improvements, including an SSM2040 VCF, an LFO delay and a pedal input jack for offsetting the VCO1 frequency. The main improvement was the keyboard interface circuitry which included sample and hold circuits for both of the control voltages generated by the keyboard. On most duophonic synths of the era, there was only one sample and hold dedicated to the keyboard, so when playing duophonically, when the keys were released, the secondary control voltage would jump to the primary voltage, meaning that it was impossible to get duophonic notes in the envelope release phase. The Cat SRM would hold both control voltages, so a two-note chord would continue to sound as a chord through the release phase. This was an unusual feature for an analog duophonic keyboard and quite an improvement over competing designs.

"I was recently able to acquire one of my bucket list synths in the Oberheim OB-8 and have been enjoying getting to know it lately. As in all these vintage analog synths they each have their own personality and life to them. The electronic components and voltages combined with age and calibration will never make any two sound exactly the same. There is a depth and space to the natural analog sound waves that is so easy to get lost in sometimes. I enjoy going into the studio and just hearing them speak back as keys are pressed. Tonight I just spent some time in front of these four... The Obeheim OB-8, Arp Odyssey Mk1, Roland Jupiter 6, and the Roland Juno 6 ...and was able to capture this. Enjoy these Sounds from the Sandbox."

Original owner. Seriously underrated vintage additive synth with tons of real-time controls and classic programmable arpeggiator. Gently used only in a smoke and pet-free home recording studio. Fantastic sounds, amazing keyboard feel and action - really the nicest keys on a synth you will ever play.
Excellent working condition: all buttons, pots, keys, and controls work perfectly. All jacks/connectors are solid with no audio or midi issues. Display has slightly dimmed, but is still legible and bright with full contrast control.
Cosmetically it’s in excellent condition except on the left side of the keyboard, above the drive slot and pitch and modulation wheels, (see pic) there’s a small blemish/chip in the dark blue where it looks like something was dropped on it (I don’t remember what it was or when it happened). Additionally, further down, closer to the left edge of the keyboard, left of the Pitch Bend wheel is another mark that’s about the size of a pencil tip and barely visible. Hopefully, you can see from the pictures that these are really minor blemishes on an otherwise beautiful synth."
"I LOVE ARRANGERS ⚡️⚡️ Maybe they are a little cheesy but I've got the classic 1993 Roland RA-95 connected to the whole studio through the Squarp Instruments Hapax sequencer & I am just having a blast controlling it all with the ROLI Lumi Keys 🙏
Just listen to that bass!
Prophet-6 ➡️ bass
OB-6 ➡️ back up chords
Juno-106 ➡️ more chords
System-8 ➡️ the lead

"'Analog crabs' is my Berlin School electronic music performance from my latest album "La chica de la playa" out on Bandcamp: https://caughtinjoy.bandcamp.com/albu...
Playing the analog synthesizers, modular drum machines and guitar pedals in a Berlin School music style is like embarking on an electronic journey through time and space. As your fingers dance across the synthesizer's lush, vintage-style keys, you unleash a sonic universe that harkens back to the iconic soundscapes of the 1970s pioneers like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Jean-Michel Jarre.
I hope these analog warmth and organic textures will transport you to a sonic realm where pulsating sequencers guide your way through mysterious, cosmic landscapes on a rainy Berlin night.
All my recent songs are fully improvised and performed "dawlessly". Creating "dawless" electronic music in a home studio involves producing music without using a traditional Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Instead, hardware synthesizers, modular synths and effects are used to create, sequence, and manipulate sounds directly. This approach can provide a hands-on, tactile experience and encourage creativity by relying on physical gear rather than a computer interface. It allows for a more immediate and intuitive workflow, with real-time control over parameters, resulting in a unique sonic character.

Advanced Synthesizer with Wavetable and Virtual Analog Engines, an Intuitive Sound Design Workflow, Expressive Hands-On Controls, Model Expansion Support, and More
Los Angeles, CA, Sept. 28, 2023 — Roland announces GAIA 2, an advanced synthesizer with a newly developed hybrid sound engine and a friendly panel layout that makes learning synthesis and exploring sound design easy and fun. Equipped with wavetable and virtual analog oscillators, interactive controls, 37 full-size keys, Model Expansion support, and other powerful features, GAIA 2 opens the door to an infinite universe of inspired creation.
GAIA 2’s diverse synthesis tools allow users to build familiar sounds and craft new voices never heard before. Reaching beyond previous designs, the wavetable oscillator can morph between multiple waveforms for everything from dramatic shifts to slowly evolving textures. Unique phase and shape modulation options are also available to distort waveforms and unleash cutting-edge textures with complex overtones. Complementing the wavetable oscillator are twin virtual analog oscillators, ready to reimagine past classics or sculpt the sounds of the future. From smooth tones reminiscent of vintage synths to edgy, biting leads to sci-fi soundscapes, GAIA 2 can do it.
GAIA 2 also supports Roland Model Expansions, which faithfully recreate iconic synthesizers from the company’s long history. With a dedicated button, users can instantly swap between the built-in sound engine and classics like the JUPITER-8 or JUNO-106. The SH-101 Model Expansion comes pre-installed, and many additional titles and accompanying Sound Packs are available on Roland Cloud.
GAIA 2’s logically organized panel encourages hands-on exploration and sonic discovery. The one-control-per-function layout and informative display enable instant programming without having to resort to creativity-killing menu diving. And with the streamlined knobs and white anodized aluminum panel, even the look is inspiring.
GAIA 2 features a touch-controlled Motional Pad that brings static sounds to life. Users can assign nearly any synth or effect parameter to each of the X/Y points and then morph between them by moving a finger on the pad. It’s also possible to record movements to create complex, modulated transformations.
The free-flowing sequencer in GAIA 2 lets users instantly capture their inspiration and realize their wildest visions. There’s also a cool Random Pattern feature to spark new ideas with spontaneous pattern creation.
GAIA 2 comes loaded with classic Roland effects to take sonic creations to the next level. Over 50 unique MFX types are available, plus a dedicated Chorus section for adding width and dimension. A powerful Reverb/Delay section features a new studio-grade Shimmer Reverb and many other high-quality effect types.
Via USB-C, GAIA 2 functions as an audio/MIDI interface for music production apps on a computer, smartphone, or tablet. The class-compliant connection is plug-and-play, with no driver installation needed. A USB Type-A port is also available for connecting a USB flash drive for data backup or a standard USB MIDI controller for extended operation.
GAIA 2 supports Roland Cloud Connect, an optional wireless adapter for browsing and downloading Roland Cloud content using a mobile device. A Roland Cloud Connect purchase also includes a year of Roland Cloud Pro membership with unlimited use of thousands of sounds, Model Expansions, and much more.
The optional CB-B37 Keyboard Bag for GAIA 2 provides durable, high-quality protection for the synthesizer while traveling and making music around town. This versatile bag also works with the JUPITER-Xm, legacy GAIA SH-01, and other 37-note keyboards.
