[Digital recording] YAMAHA FS1R FM/FS Synthesizer Factory Demo Song

"I modified my YAMAHA FS1R to add S/PDIF digital output by my self-developed digital audio transmitter board.

This modification allows user to bypass the internal DAC of the FS1R, generates 18-bit bit-perfect PCM output, resulting a more expressive, richer sound compare to the analog output.

I believe that I'm the first one to perform a digital recording of this versatile synthesizer, in fact, this video is first uploaded to Bilibili (BV1Dw411Q7et).

This board has been open source at my GitHub, my other resources for FS1R is also published at my GitHub too, you can search 'completed-fs1r', 'fs1r_firmware_RE' in GitHub to find some useful information (I cannot post the link below because I don't use YouTube frequently).

I may upload the lossless 48kHz FLAC version on Google Drive and share it in the comment below."

"The piece 'Nachtblau' has gone full circle. I originally wrote it as a synthesizer piece, when I got GForce Software's Oberheim Eight Voice emulation, OB-E for review.
While recording my first solo album, Weltmaschine, I transformed it into a piano piece and recorded it with Nils Frahm's Zwicki Piano at his studio in Funkhaus, Berlin.
As there is not always a piano availlable when I play live shows, I rarely played that piece on stage. But since it gets requested a lot, I now went on to create a sound on my Oberheim Matrix 1000 which can be played very nuanced in dynamics and colour, so I can do this expressive piece justice. Leave your thoughts in the comments!

A few quick patches on the Erica Synths Syntrx, a powerful analog monosynth. Here I used the original version, not the Syntrx II which came sometime later.
Based in Riga, Latvia, Erica Synths teamed up with engineers from Riga Technical University to design a modern instrument based on the EMS VCS3/Synthi from the early Seventies, keeping the same overall structure with a few additions. They also kept the patchboard matrix, but replacing the original pins with a digital system with patch memory.

The wavestick is sequenced by the SQ-1 and processed through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MK II.

The main harmony comes from the OP-1 field; the other parts are from Kontakt."

Part 1: Main square wave melody
Part 2: Bass line
Part 3: Paraphonic pads
Part 4: Super Saw arpeggio line
Part 5: Super Saw chords

All parts were recorded to separate tracks using Redshift 6’s six individual outputs.Drums and FX were added in post-production in the DAW.

With Redshift 6, multitimbrality is always at your fingertips. Its user interface is built from the ground up to enable a seamless workflow between mono- and multitimbral setups.

Under the hood, Redshift 6 is always multitimbral—there’s no need to switch to a specific multitimbral mode. A new multitimbral synth part can be activated with just the push of a button.
