"Just playing around with my 'new' simmons sds7. The accent of the 909 works on the trigger too and gives random responses.

To bad the analog part of the bassdrum is a bit busted. Some pots react only at the end and one of the toms leaks noise when it set to zero.

But listen to those cem 3340's osc's, the lovely noise and those 8bit crushed & cut up sounds.

Can't find any clues on the filter but it's sweet ! if anyone got any clue about the filter please let me know. Also i would love to have service manuals but i think they're just not there anymore. If anybody got more cards or a 'full' working sds7 let me know too.

"Maestro is the first russian synth with microprocessor inside. Maestro synthesizer was prodused on Kachkanar military radio plant on the same factory where well known Polivoks synth was prodused. Synth has nice compact design. There are 16 base waveforms onboard. Some waveforms feed to analog filter with resonanse. There is interesting arpeggiator also with memory of key's order and speed control. The synth is polyphonic, you can play 4 voices at one time. "A-104 is a fourfold formant filter as used in the Mixtur Trautonium by Oskar Sala. It is made of four parallel resonance filters, each filter can be switched to low pass or band pass or off. "The Roland S-50 was a futuristic looking black metal monolith with a fluorescent screen. It felt long and had 61 keys. Compare that with the measly cheap feeling two octave Oxygen 8 I use now! You could hook it up to an external monitor. I had mine hooked up to a 13″ green CRT poised on a three tier Ultimate Keyboard Rack. It also came with a digitizing tablet and pen similar to a Wacom tablet. This allowed you to draw waveforms but it was more gimmick than useful.

Vocoder What Is It? EMS 2000 Demo w/ Oberheim OB-8

"here's a demo clip of the bassline for the song (into the groove)it needs cleaning up with the correct notes etc. the sound is created by using very short decay times. the minimoog's 2 oscillator were very finely tuned by myself to get that grit sound that the minimoog growls out. if you know what i mean. these synths sound much better in real life."

Invented and designed by Charles Blackley who would print the designs in the Electronics Today International and Electronics & Music Maker (E&MM) magazines. As obscure and extrentic as the EMS synthesizers the company from Blackpool faded away in the early 1990s."

Here's an interesting auction. A MOOG Liberation being sold to fund a Syntar. Note the Syntar actually predated the MOOG Liberation as the first keytar ever, a interesting bit of synth history. The Syntar featured an amazingly expressive control interface on the neck that has yet to be reproduced and it did sound quite nice. You can read more about the Syntar on Carbon111's excellent Syntar Page as well as this interview here on MATRIXSYNTH.

It's worth noting that the person behind the Syntar was George Mattson who is currently the man behind the new Mattson Mini Modular.
