Sequencomat V1 versus V3

YouTube via tonvibration | August 08, 2010

"I compare different versions of the Midi stepsequencers I have made in MaxMSP for the Jazzmutant Lemur.
V1 is a free module you can download from the JM user area: http://www.jazzmutant.com/lemuruser_m...
V3 is a paid module. You can get more information here: http://www.tonvibration.de/Sequencoma...
I cutted V2 in this comparison, which is also a paid module and lay somewhere in between, you can get more info here: http://www.tonvibration.de/extra/Sequ...
I do not cover all functions of the sequencers.... e.g. I do not mention the rollpad and random function (on both) or the CCmodule and groove tab (V3only). You can see more videos on my channel or have a look at my site: http://music-interface.com
I did a lot of work for free and shared with the Lemur community, it is just the more complex stepsequencer, where I charge money for. (btw: you pay for the maxpatch and support, you can get the naked Lemur template for free ;) )"

Michael Czajkowski - People The Sky - Buchla 100 Album

"Although the name Michael Czajkowski is virtually unknown outside of certain academic music circles, his “People The Sky” album was an advance reconnaissance into the burgeoning synthesizer scene of the late sixties. Ignorance of his work is understandable, as his entire back catalogue, comprised of just this one solo album plus session work on Buffy Sainte-Marie’s “Illuminations” album, are but a pair of tiny blips in the universe of recorded electronic music. But the sounds and emotions he conjured up on these two albums were daring and exquisitely handled non-linear excursions rendered in a newly-discovered language that had only recently been invented. One cannot attempt to recount the story of Czajkowski without that of avant-garde composer Morton Subotnick, folk rock star Buffy-Sainte Marie and one of the earliest electronic keyboards, the Buchla synthesizer that linked them together without at least a cursory overview of the events that led to these pioneers and that unique musical apparatus crossing paths during their artistic pursuits of the late sixties."

A neat little Keyboard exactly the same as a Caso PT-10. The classic VL Tone sounds are here and it is very bendable!

Mods added:

Blue Plastic cut from another keyboard which already had holes, so i put the controls there.

Mono mini jack output (speaker removed)

Switchable Pitch Up (way way way Up!!) and Down

Four Switches produce distortion, nice lo-fi sounds, tonal changes and feedback when used in combination or one at a time. Bottom right toggle switch can be used as a body contact to create a vibrato effect, this is when the pitch down is switched on.

Drifting along the Mosel

YouTube via attorks | August 07, 2010

"Yesterday we got back from a holiday that we spent near the river Mosel in Germany. Catching up with my mail and things I saw some videos of John L Rice were he shows COTK and Grove Audio modules using noise. So I thought, let's use some rhythmic noise in this improvisation. I also wanted to make an attempt to make a HD video with the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 webcam which I use for all my videos. But that means I have to use the Logitech software to record the video and a sound recorder to record the sound and somehow get that together using Sony Vegas Movie Studio. The result you see is the first 10 minutes of a 20 minute video. I also had to handle the webcam to get some close ups but sometimes the action is just out of the picture and sometimes the auto-focus does not do what it is supposed to do; sorry for that.

The noise rhythm is driven by an 8-step sequence on row 3 of the Doepfer MAQ16/3 sequencer which gate signal is also shifting the Synthesizers.com Q960. The noise comes from the white noise output of the self-built Modular which is lead to the CGS Steiner HP input and which output is lead to the LoPass Gate which is modulated by the Ian Fritz All-In EG and the CV from row 3 of the MAQ16/3. Row 1 of the MAQ16/3 has an 8-step sequence for the self-built Modular and in this voice the Ian Fritz 5Pulser is used to get a more evolving sound. The Q960 has sequences on row 1 and row 3 which is manually switched with the Q962 sequential switch. Some improvised chords and notes are played on the Roland XP-80, the Waldorf Q Keyboard and the Clavia Nord Lead 1.

You can see/hear/download the video and music from my website soon."

Chamber of Sounds JUPITER III with Jupiter Time Clock Module

"JUPITER III - Analog Percussion Synthesizer and Optical Theremin with Time Clock

You've probably seen them at Analogueheaven or MoogAudio, but no one but Chamber of Sounds has the Jupiter Clock module! You get both the awesome Jupiter III synth + a green Jupiter Clock, a great combo for some unique sound-making. Both units are signed, dated and numbered by the creator. This will be the only green Jupiter Clock available to the public, so don't miss out.

Smack it, trigger it, or shine some light on it...
The Jupiter III, analog, percussion synthesizer and optical theremin is both light & touch sensitive. It's handmade, built to last and extremely, unique sounding. It will get any crazy analog sounds you could imagine on the fly - from very fat, low bass to super high, sweeps, bleeps, chirps and glitchy cross-modulations. It has a trigger input to plug any source into it - a drum machine, metronome, mp3 player and of course the matching Jupiter Clock, to control the rhythm or make the unit sustain indefinitely. In Jupiter III’s manual, percussive mode you can bang on the box to get a wide array of analog sounds. This little guy is highly versatile and can be played many different ways for any situation. Listen to the demos below... Visit Chamber of Sounds for more Jupiter III info." Also see the Chamber of Sounds label below for videos and more previously posted.
