quality control electro: TR-606 DFM, Moog Rogue, Optigan

Published on Mar 11, 2013 burnkit2600·44 videos

"The tail end of a little living room jam messing around with the newest TR-606 DFM to come off my assembly line. Sounding great, 100% analog gold.
Also starring: Moog Rogue, Optigan & featuring surprise guest Miette.
More info about my drum machine mod work here:

"The analog architecture has been expanded to allow for control over every essential parameter, plus a few surprises.

The connection panel in back retains all of the original ins and outs (power connector, main audio output, headphone audio output, LT trigger, HT trigger, DIN sync connector port, DIN in/out switch, start/stop foot-switch input jack) plus 3 audio inputs for injecting a signal to mix with or replace the 1) Snare drum noise path, 2) Tom drum noise path, 3) Cymbal or hats shared oscillators. There are also individual audio outputs for the Bass drum, Snare, summed Tom drums, Cymbal, summed Hi-Hats.

DDVCO as 5/4 Pattern Generator
Published on Jan 17, 2013

"Messing around with the SSL Ian Fritz Double Deka VCO's lower-octaves/sub-audio cycles through some Steiner filter resonance with a dash of 'verb. The 10 adjustable nodes of the waveshape can be used to tease out some pretty cool rhythms, but thus restricted to 5/4. Lucky it's one of my fav time-sigs. The further 2 successive nodes are displaced from the center detent in opposite directions (+ and -) the more pronounced the percussive effect/staggering of the waveform/rhythm. Pardon my crappy camera quality."

"This is a very vintage and VERY RARE (try and find another one!) "Composer-Synthesizer" made by Southwest Technical Products Corporation (SWTPC). This was sold as a kit (thus the homemade appearance) and promoted in the July 1971 issue of Popular Electronics.

Very few have survived, and even fewer in pristine condition. This one is not prisitne but it appears to be all there. It DOES make "tones" through the built in speaker and also outputs to the RCA jack when plugged in. However, I would hardly characterize it as "clean" (or very loud) sound. Some of the knobs and switches work, some don't. The "tune" sequencer works (proving that at least some ICs work) and changes the order and pattern of tones. The frequenty and pitch knobs seem to work, though again, the sound is nothing you would want to record! The circuit board is OK but appears to have been worked on and the soldering is nothing to be proud of, but hey, these were made by kids like me back then! The wiring is certianly a rats nest. It appears that somewhere along the line, the front panel was cut away and each wire was soldered to the corresponding wire coming from the circuit board. These solder joints are mostly in free air, and I re-taped them all before plugging it in. Whoever built it used sockets for all the IC's and most of the transistors so you can easily replace them if you wish. Many of the switches have combinations of resistors, diodes and capacitors dangling from the terminals, presumably to create tonal variations."

Eowave EO-310 and EO-311 Eurorack Modules Preparing to Launch

"Eowave has been designing sensor systems since 2002. We are are now releasing 2 modules that enables to use sensors with modular systems, the EO-310 SENSOR SIGNAL PROCESSOR and EO-311 SENSOR TO CV modules. You can check them out and the compatible sensors on

www.eowave.com/EO-310.php
www.eowave.com/EO-311.php

These will be ready for shipping at the end of March."

"Eowave EO-310 SENSOR SIGNAL PROCESSOR

With the module EO-310 SENSOR SIGNAL PROCESSOR, we wanted to share eowave sensor systems that we have been designing for more than 10 years with the world of modular systems. This new module enables to plug any eowave sensor to control a parameter of a modular system. Sensor type will be chosen depending on which parameter you want to control. Among sensors, we propose IR distance sensors, pressure sensors, position sensors, tactile sensors, tilts, capacitive pads...

With the signal processing parameters (lag/offset/gain), you will be able to process the signal to get the best response from the sensor."

"Eowave EO-311 SENSOR TO CV

With the module EO-311 SENSOR TO CV, we wanted to share eowave sensor systems that we have been designing for more than 10 years with the world of modular systems. This new module enables to plug 4 of any eowave sensor to control parameters of a modular system. Sensor type will be chosen depending on which parameter you want to control. Among sensors, we propose IR distance sensors, pressure sensors, position sensors, accelerometers, tactile sensors, tilts, capacitive pads...

The EO-311 SENSOR TO CV enable to connect 0-5V sensors to outputs of parameters of your modular systems. It ensures the powering of the sensor and an adequate buffering of the sensor signal into CV.

The module EO-310 SENSOR SIGNAL PROCESSOR can be added to add more processing paramaters of the signal from the sensors."

"Analog semi-modular synthesizer. One of the most powerful synths of its time. With full polyphony. Only about 200 units produced and used among others by Keith Emerson and Jean Michel Jarre. Amazing sound. Perfect for producing music style "Berlin School" or new age. The unit is 100% original and works perfectly. It has only slight marks on the wood but nothing major. Includes a flight case with individual compartments for synth and keyboard. One of the analog synths currently more difficult to locate."

MOOG MINIMOOG MUSONICS

via this auction

"The most famous monophonic analog synthesizers. The rarest and best version of the Minimoog. The model "Musonics" riding the same oscillators that were used in the legendary Moog system 55. According to experts has a best sound than other versions of the "Model D".
Only a few hundred fabricated units of this version there are currently only a few localized in the world. The numbers range from 1100 to about 1300. Interestingly in our store demo room we also have another three units located in Europe, the number 1228. Among the other six units located Keith Emerson owns the No. 1203. Another is in a museum. We are thus confronted with one of the best synths of collection.

The main differences with the rest of Minimoog Model D are:
- More robust wooden box. We believe it is maple. It is much heavier than in other versions.
- Serial number handwritten. This unit is the number 1194 (the Mail link appearing in "The Lords of the Mini" is the former owner of "please please do not use it because the longer does). The link is this.

Serial-number handwritten-Logo and inscription RAMoog Musonics instead of Moog Music.-Metal panel (as in modular Moogs).Front panel Minimoog different from normal.-No power adapter leads (125/220V).Wheels modulation-transparent-Rear panel different."

Sound/Description:

EXCELLENT!!! In my opinion, this is a very smooth, deep, fat sounding analog synth, has a real silky, warm, high quality sound. Hi frequency sounds also really cool. Hand made in Switzerland.… "The sound quality is unsurpassed" Sound On Sound (GB) "The sounds we heard were fat, fat, phat !" Keyboard (USA) Pure Analog, Runs on CV/Gate

Weight: (unboxed) 700g or 1.2kg with power supply

Internet Info: Technosaurus utilizes only discrete circuits and, as opposed to most manufacturers, no all-in-one chip solutions.

The Microcon is a totally analog table-top synth module that's slightly smaller than the original TB-303. It has one main oscillator capable of either sawtooth or square waveforms, just like the TB-303. The addition of a sub-oscillator is more like SH-101, which can help beef up your bass sounds. The analog lowpass filter is switchable as either 2-pole (12dB/oct) or 4-pole (24dB/oct), which is better than the TB-303 or SH-101 offered. The LFO can modulate the filter cutoff frequency with either triangle or square wave and the VCO can be modulated by square or triangle waves. Simple attack and decay envelope controls and a Glide effect round out this fairly simple to use and highly affordable 303 clone. The Microcon only uses CV and Gate for being controlled externally"
