"2 Bar sequence in 5/4 driving a MFOS (Music From Outer Space) Sound Lab 1. Mostly using 1 oscillator, the 2nd Oscillator is brought in at places. Settings used are shown in pictures. Using primarily the release knob in AR to do the rhythmic permutations. Also slight filter adjustments throughout, never more than 1/4 open. Noise is used to put the reed like whistle into the extended notes. During that section, the 2nd Oscillator level is introduced, this being modulated in the low range of the high speed LFO instead of the AR envelope.
Rhythmic modulation done with the AR envelope Release and level. An Angelic pad to lift you out of this fractal microtonal world at the end. Sonic percussion and pad played on Ensoniq SD-1 32."

Emu Ultra e6400 Sampler with Compact Flash Mod

"This is a very special Emu Ultra which has been upgraded with a internal compact flash slot (SCSI) which means you can 'hot-swap' compact flash cards to get your data into the Emu, fast. Also it has an internal IDE drive 80gb loaded with the entire Emu library. The Serial No. dates this to March 2001 so it was one of the last Emu samplers made...production probably stopped around 2002 when they had a close out on Emu samplers and parts.
This is the 2nd Emu sampler i have for sale and I purchased this a 3 years ago for the RFX32 card. I discovered the unit was barely used and this is proven by the buttons which have no rubbing/smoothing and are appear immaculate - they remain textured. I have not used the sampler all these years but have recently upgraded all my samplers with Scsi CF as I came across the necessary parts.
improve airflow.
All buttons work and there is no skipping with the controller dial.
To give you an idea of the costings for SCSI CF flash: to upgade to a SCSI CF flash drive will cost you are around £150. £70 for the SCSI/IDE converter and then another £40 for the flash slot itself. The SCSI/IDE converters are extremely rare and not easily found.
128mb Ram - again this is rare.
This EMU is running the last and latest version of EOS, which gives you realtime resonance on the filter instead of 'note-on' changes.
I will also include the EMu sound library on the hard drive plus lots and lots of samples. You will have to seek clearance if any of these samples find there way into a commerical release.
If you want to pick up one of these units to bring something new to your production - the Emu Filters - then this is the best way to do it."

Building a Simple Sampler in Reaktor
Building a Simple Sampler in Reaktor from Peter Dines on Vimeo.
"In this video I walk you through creating a simple multipurpose sampler in Reaktor. I introduce you to basic Reaktor concepts like control and audio signal flow, polyphony, sample import and mapping, signal modulation with an envelope and adding factory effects. This is an introductory level video but it covers a lot of important territory you need to know to build more advanced structures.
Look forward to more videos from me - the next one will be on creating a sequenced beat production center from scratch.

"List of things I've had done to this machine:
- recapped power supply, new grounded power chord added
- complete overhaul of key bed (replaced j-wires, bushings, burnished bus bar)
- lit pot mod, replacement of all front panel switches and sliders (no more gunky, unresponsive parameters)
- high output and low output jacks switched so that high output is the 1/4" jack (most sensible for modern applications)
- cleaning out of conductive solder flux
- fully calibrated and tuned up
All of these things were done by a VERY experienced tech, who was trained by ARP in the seventies to be a certified technician. This work is of the highest caliber, and I paid an arm and a leg for it. Moreover, I have never had a single problem with this machine after having it serviced. The switches and sliders being brand new makes such an enormous difference in the practical application of this synth into your workflow. Get the best of both worlds: vintage feel with modern dependability.
While having this work done, I ran out of money before the tech could run through the CV section. I was told it looked fine, and ought to work, but it was NOT tested. Being that I do not use CV in my studio for anything, I have no way to test this feature of the machine and cannot guarantee its function. I realize this function is important to other kinds of musicians, and in the event that something is wrong with the CV section of this Odyssey, a repair ought not to be prohibitively expensive. Please bid accordingly, though."

Taste of Camel - Sound Library for Alchemy
Published on Nov 12, 2012 CamelAudio·30 videos
Note this video is from 2012, but the press release below is new.
"Taste Of Camel is a tasty appetizer of presets chosen from Alchemy's full menu of Sound Libraries. It contains 120 presets and 1GB of samples for a tiny price. http://www.camelaudio.com"
Press Release:
"Camel Audio amends Alchemy Player and serves up Taste of Camel
EDINBURGH, UK: professional audio plug-ins developer Camel Audio is proud to announce availability of Alchemy Player v1.55, a major update to its free popular Alchemy Sound Library and SFZ player synthesizer, together with Taste of Camel, a tasty Alchemy appetiser, as of February 21...
Alchemy Player v1.55 is designed to keep inspiration flowing with a fully-featured preset browser, 200 presets, faster preset loading times, improved remote control from the Alchemy iOS app, and many more enhancements.
POWERFUL NEW BROWSER
The new browser is probably the most fully-featured sound browser available anywhere, allowing users to find all their slow attack strings, glitchy dubstep basses, tempo-synched warm pads, or whatever they need in a matter of seconds. All previously released Camel Audio presets have been carefully tagged by category, subcategory, genre, sound library, sound designer, articulation, and timbre. Finding favourites is a breeze — simply rate presets with a single click and then sort by rating. Users can add tags to make it easy to call up presets associated with a particular project or live set, and can also add comments to presets with playing notes or other tips. Track down the perfect sound in a host of different ways with this powerful browser.
DEDICATED iOS REMOTE
Alchemy Player v1.55 with the latest update to Alchemy on iOS offers even smoother and more expressive remote control. Change preset, move the remix pad, and access performance controls — all without leaving the comfort of your controller keyboard. Previously the domain of multi-thousand dollar devices, polyphonic pitch bend is new to this update, and offers an amazingly expressive way of playing instruments — especially when combined with polyphonic aftertouch.
Camel Audio has also announced the release of Taste of Camel, a tasty appetiser of presets chosen from a menu of 24 Alchemy libraries. This comprehensive 120-preset collection covers genres as diverse as Electronica and Ambient to Pop and Dubstep, and features 1GB of samples and sampled SFZ instruments, including synths, guitars, basses, sound effects, drum kits, and loops. All presets are fully tagged for the new browser in Alchemy Player v1.55, which is included for free.
Alchemy Player v1.55 is available now for free from here: http://www.camelaudio.com
Taste of Camel can be securely ordered from Camel Audio’s online Shop (http://www.camelaudio.com/shop.php) for $15.00 USD/€12.00 EUR/£10.00 GBP, and is compatible with Alchemy v1.5, the ultimate sample manipulation synthesizer (available separately for $249.00 USD/€199.00 EUR/£179.00 GBP), and the free Alchemy Player v1.55 (included).
Those tasty sounds of Taste of Camel can be seen and heard in this ‘vintage’ mirthful ‘mouth-watering’ demonstration video [above].

"A Plan B synthesizer demonstrates a timbre unique to it and the Buchla 200. By virtue of the VC waveshaping (morph), the harmonic value of a random three VCO cluster forged by two stepped Model 24 Heisenberg Generators, with a third manifest by combining the source noise output of the two M24's and sampling this through ASR as S+H. The resonance of the Timbral Gate used in this patch is enhanced by modulating the waveshape morph mix of the three VCOs in unison via the same M10 EG that's opening the M13 Timbral Gate. Note that the high amplitude phase of the envelope morphs the sawtooth waves into sines."

Ever since I created the first version of this video a year ago I've been wanting to try it again with more water and better lighting / footage. This is a really fun project and when you first see the results, chances are your jaw will drop. The main thing to keep in mind for this project is that you need a camera that shoots 24 fps.
The effect that you are seeing can't be seen with the naked eye. The effect only works through the camera. However, there is a version of the project you can do where the effect would be visible with the naked eye. For that project, you'd have to use a strobe light.
For this project you'll need:
A powered speaker
Water source
Soft rubber hose
Tone generating software
24 fps camera
Tape.
Run the rubber hose down past the speaker so that the hose touches the speaker. Leave about 1 or 2 inches of the hose hanging past the bottom of the speaker. Secure the hose to the speaker with tape or whatever works best for you. The goal is to make sure the hose is touching the actual speaker so that when the speaker produces sound (vibrates) it will vibrate the hose.
Set up your camera and switch it to 24 fps. The higher the shutter speed the better the results. But also keep in the mind that the higher your shutter speed, the more light you need. Run an audio cable from your computer to the speaker. Set your tone generating software to 24hz and hit play.Turn on the water. Now look through the camera and watch the magic begin. If you want the water to look like it's moving backward set the
frequency to 23hz. If you want to look like it's moving forward in slow motion set it to 25hz.
Have fun!"

Akai AX60 Vintage Analog Synthesizer

"Up for sale, an Akai AX60 in excellent condition and in good working order. Fully tested and undeniably cool, the AX60 is among some of the last true analog polysynths of the mid-eighties. It was Akai's answer to the hugely successful Roland Juno series and Yamaha's new digital DX-series. The AX60 is a programmable six-voice synth with a nice LFO, lowpass (VCF) filter, envelope sections, and more!
Programming this synth is easy using dedicated sliders, knobs and/or buttons for its parameters. It also has a useful noise generator and some other cool functions that include auto-tuning, chorus, a multi-mode arpeggiator and a keyboard that can be split into two key-zones, making it somewhat bi-timbral. All six voices can be stacked in unison mode for a powerful and thick lead sound. Its features and sound make the AX60 a worthy alternative to Roland's Juno 106.
Cosmetically, this particular AX60 is nice and clean, with a few light scuffs and nicks from the past thirty years, but no serious wear there is one cracked B key which has been repaired and is stable."

"Demo of the D Train O'Jays bank for the SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II virtual analog Oberheim VSTi synth plugin. All sounds are coming from several instances of OP-X PRO-II except for drums and piano plus rhodes.
The featured songs are two famous Electro Disco Soul Funk hits from the early eighties which have that special mix of danceable soul and funk in them:
1. D Train - You're The One For Me (Remix version)
All sounds (chords, bass, sound effects, clavinet, organ) are coming from several instances of OP-X PRO-II except for drums which were done with steinberg groove agent. The only processing is a bit of low eq boost for the bass sound.
