Moog Halloween Theremin Video Contest 2017

"New product from Mooög! The MuRTS! Mechanical undead Rotating Theremin Sequencer! Rotating vanes control a theremin, while the theremin controls a voyager via CV. I originally tried to get this to play the first 8 beats of "happy birthday to you" but it wobbles too much and it's creepy enough as it is.
Made with love. and blood.

...coming soon.. the MIDI M.u.R.T.S."

Blade Runner Blues Lead Demo

"The Blade Runner Blues lead / harmonica patch is one of the most expressive patches Vangelis ever did on the CS-80. Among other things it features sensitive and fine-tuned velocity and aftertouch response, with quite different settings for each of the two synth lines. Since it is not directly derived from the CS-80's preset buttons (many of his other go-to patches were), and especially because it has so many expressive nuances, it is not a straightforward patch to recreate.

After many hours of micro-tweaking every possible parameter on the CS-80V3 and much A/B comparison, this is the closest I have gotten. The pad background was created with the Roland VP-03 strings to emulate Vangelis' gorgeous VP330, and some Rhodes flourishes were added.

If you own the Arturia CS-80V3 (upgrade to latest version), please feel free to download this preset here: drive.google.com/open?id=0B4w0ZI7…EVXhjeTNsMnFIR0U

Rhino - FM Synthesizer using Arduino and Max Msp

Published on Oct 18, 2017

Googlish:

"This project was done within the framework of the Electronic Music Instruments course of the Department of Music Engineering of Technology and Acoustics.

It is a synthesizer based on the idea of Theremin in how to interact with the user, while in terms of its sound coloring it is based on the Frequency Modulation Synthesis technique.

The user, by moving the hand, controls a sequence of notes as a progression of a music scale he chooses. While at the same time it can regulate the spectral content by manipulating the potentiometers. The sound effect it generates is based on the reasons for its harmonicity and the effect it will choose to accompany the basic sound generator. The purpose is to give the user the freedom to shape the instrument's complexion with a variety of combinations by experimenting with the controller.

For construction I used an Arduino Mega 2560, and the Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04 motion sensor.

The sound generator was programmed into Max Msp's environment. "

"7 Synths perform live using: Korg King, Korg Kaoss Pad, Korg Kaossilator, Korg MS2000, Alesis Micron, Acces Virus Indigo, Waldorf Bloefeld.

7 Synths is a solo project of keyboardist, composer & producer Kaspars Tobis. Since 2000, he has been a member of the rock-band Dzelzs Vilks (Iron Wolf in Latvian), which has been one of the most successful alternative bands in Latvia for more than two decades. Apart from programming and playing keyboards in Dzelzs Vilks, he has been collaborating with musicians in Latvia and abroad, to name a few - Brainstorm, Mumiy Troll, Ainars Mielavs and others. Kaspars has also co-authored music for several theatre performances as well as for contemporary dance performances by Olga Zitluhina. In 2001 his first solo album Zenithsign was released. His second album Concert for 7 Synthesizers was released in 2013 and has received the Latvian Music Recording Award, Zelta Mikrofons as the Best Electronic Album 2013. In relation to this record, media often calls him the Latvian Jean Michel Jarre. The artist himself explains that the project 7 Synths takes the feeling of working in an electronic studio to the stage while performing both prepared compositions & creating sequences in real time. In his performances Kaspars uses four to nine digital & analog synthesisers & different devices and the combination is never the same."
