It has never had a major repair and all maintenance over the years was done by Jeff Blankensop in Brooklyn. I bought it directly from Computone by mail in 1976 or '77. A film by Jeff Gustafson. Last July, while working on the Twelve Full Moons album, I found myself on the Salt Flats.The P-51, F4 and Power Plant chopper were used in a Breitling watch ad. The sights sounds around the shoot were captured with a Zoom recorder and horribly abused with Kaoss pads, looped, slowed down and run backwards. The HP sine wave generators make an appearance along with Moog and Pigtronix ring modulators.

Vintage Oberheim OB-1 Analog Synthesizer SN 0473

"For those unfamiliar, this is a monophonic synthesizer and was among the first synthesizers to offer the ability to store presets. The unit can store 8 presets at one time using battery backed memory.

This particular unit has recently been calibrated and has had a new battery installed. Everything seems to be working great, although there may be the occasional crackle from a potentiometer.

The only issue that should me mentioned is that this OB-1 at one point was modified for use with some kind of sequencer. The modifications have been removed but there is a small hole in the front where a toggle switch had been mounted and a 1/4" hole in the back where a jack had been mounted. Both of these holes can easily be plugged. The front hole had been marked and the legending should be easily removable. There is also a balanced output installed to the back with a balancing transformer..."

Timorianne by Takla Makan aka Oakley Sound

"Timorianne is the latest album from Takla Makan.

The 47 minute album features four tracks comprising of two long pieces with many variations and two shorter ones. The final track, one of the shorter ones, is as close to a conventional song as Takla Makan are probably going to ever do.

Timorianne follows on from where Kirkcarrion left off. It's mostly an instrumental album but I make no apologies for using vocals, both recorded and samples, in my work. The human voice is a remarkable instrument and I like to use it often.

The album was recorded over a period from May 2011 to April 2012. As usual there is a mixture of real and virtual analogue synthesisers as well as a 'small' collection of VST devices used within the framework of Ableton Live 8.

Timorianne can be pronounced as you wish. When I made up the word, and make it up I did, I heard it in my head as 'tim-mor-ree-ann'.

The cover artwork shows the River Orwell at the end of a lovely day in August 2011.
