Buchla 100 & Kilpatrick Pattern Generator K4816

"Been testing out a few new modules... trying to decide what complements the Buchla 100.
The Kilpatrick K4816 clocks OK. I really like the Buchla 295 (10 channel comb filter) which seems to pair well with the 205 matrix mixer (10in, 4 out).

The 205 has 4 outs so it seemed logical to try it with a 281 Function Generator/292 Quad LP gate combo."

X1L3 - circuit bent - synth mod - Roland TR626 + Sequential circuits pro1

Published on Sep 17, 2013

X1L3 on eBay (RSS)

"Commission circuit bent 626. The first half of the vid hangs around a drone beat set with the distortion and filter doing most of the work while the square waves are all tuned up in unison and driving a kind of pseudo bassline. After this it all starts to go nuts with some nasty glitching and detuned square wave action. Comes to a head with the delay going into the drone industrial noise realm.

Thought i'd try to do something a bit different with this seeing as how it's quite a big machine with lots of panel space when fixed up in a wooden shell. Check out burnkit 2600 for loads of sweet mods you can do to these things and TR505's. I recently got hold of 1000 TS555 timer Ic's so thought i'd start putting them to good use. I made a pcb consisting of four of them, added two of these pcb's to the 626 and routed the square wave outputs to it's internal drum grouping mixer. The mixer contains AD generators which shape the square waves and give the machine a kind of 'analogue drum' sound. You can dial these waves in and out of the mix as well as alter the levels of the different drum groups. Added an external input round the back. You can use it as an fx processor for other gear or mix up the machine and an external source as i do with the pro one. As with most of the stuff i modify it's got a fluid feel to it that lets you drift from place to place. Quirky glitching to all out distorted grind.. The more you mess with it the more things you chance upon. The way it should be with a circuit bent machine."

Most of the modules were serviced at the end of 2012 by CAE in San Mateo with the exception of the Quash's and the keyboard.

The keyboard and the programming were never used and it is unsure if they work. However we were able to get the digital read-out to count. The rest of the modules worked at the end of 2012 but because of the vintage and delicate nature of the PAIA, it is not guaranteed that they are still working."

Days before on Instagram, Pharrell revealed that the pieces were re-creations of the Casio MT-500, which is the first instrument he ever made music on. He noted that it is 'as if it was found in an archaeological dig or in the distant future.' Arsham added on Instagram, 'I have remade them in volcanic ash, crystal, and steel, as if they have been found in the future.' Viewers not only got to see the works, but they also got to hold them using special gloves..." [pictured below]

Tranz8ight4 Reaktor Ensemble Promo

Published on Sep 17, 2013
Tranz8ight4 Version 2 David Anthony Hickman·5 videos

"The TR-84 has two independent 16 beat sequencers, each driving a bank of Sine-PW oscillators
and Noise-PW generators.

The oscillators and generators use an interactive modulation matrix, producing a powerful complex multitude of varying tones that react to each other.

Switch on the Jammer and it will improvise and interact with the sequencer taking a basic pattern in new directions.

The Jammer creates a more complex rhythmic variation extending the loop cycle way beyond the original.

On the mixer side we have dynamic filters, a compressor limiter, reverbs, delays and modulated effects that can sync to the Jammer.

The TR-84 has a matrix patch-bay that lets you chain effects in any order, inserting them into the mixer sends.

Put all this together and you have a Dynamic Improvised Analog Percussive Loop Generator (Drum Machine) that thinks it's a Didgeridoo.

Plus........... The TR-84 has Midi in so you can play it from your Controller or DAW.

The Samples used in this demo (plus a few more) are available for download at the ET site."

"KOMA Elektronik RH301
Rhythm Workstation / Utility Tool

The beating heart of the RH301 is the master clock, of which the tempo can be set by turning the Tempo knob, by tapping a tempo on the tap button, by syncing it to MIDI, DIN Sync or an external analog clock signal. The generated clock signal can be passed on via two clock outputs, two division outputs or via the MIDI Output and DIN Sync Output. An incoming MIDI signal can also be passed along via the MIDI Thru and MIDI Out sockets.

And that’s not all: besides having a master clock section, the RH301 is also fitted with a LFO which can be synced to the master clock, a division of the master clock, or run freely from 0,25 Hz to 260 Hz in five different waveforms: sine, triangle, square, S&H and noisine. This means the pedal can also be used as an lo-fi oscillator, when you turn the LFO up into the audible range. The LFO has two separate outputs on the patch bay: LFO out and LFO inverted out. Some of the features of the LFO can also be modulated via control voltage, the pedal boasts CV inputs for LFO SPEED, LFO RESET and LFO SYMMETRY.

The third main feature of the RH301 is an Envelope Generator which can easily be synced to the master clock, a division of the master clock or run in loop mode. Besides the normal controls for ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN and RELEASE the pedal comes with a RANGE knob to change the time range of the envelope created. The envelope generator comes with a normal envelope output, but also an inverted envelope output and can be triggered by an external gate / trigger via the external gate Input..."

Elektron Monomachine Keyboard SFX6 - 1 of 500 with Original Box

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"From Elektron's website:

Once upon a time there was a synthesizer called the Monomachine SFX-6. It existed for four years and only 500 units were made. Today it is considered somewhat of a rarity. It was actually the first version of the Monomachine as the keyboardless tabletop variant was introduced a few months later. A lot of attention was drawn to the looks of the SFX-6. In contrast to more common synthesizer designs, the keyboard and the control area of the SFX-6 were separated in two distinct sections. The intention was to allow two musicians to jam together using a single synthesizer. One of them would be in charge of the keyboard while the other one operated the sequencer and adjusted sound parameters. Getting hold of a Monomachine SFX-6 today can be hard, but there's no reason to despair. A MIDI keyboard connected to the SFX-60+ MKII will provide more or less the exact same functionality."

ARP Odyssey MkIII - Lumina Upgrade, Dual VCF (4023/4035), LFO Aftertouch

via this auction - learn how to sell on eBay here

"It's recently been upgraded with the CMS Lumina slider kit (beautiful silky smooth action - all high quality Bourns PTL45 series LED Sliders). The LFO slider LED lights up as a visual indicator to the frequency, and the AR/ADSR slider LED's glow according to what the output voltage is.

It's also been retro fitted with aftertouch for LFO control of VCOs 1 & 2, and most intriguingly, a dual switchable VCF!

The original 4075 VCF module has been replaced with the 40235 Dual Filter (Google it) which consists of the MkI "White Face" Odyssey 12dB VCF and the MkII "Moog Infringement" 24dB VCF - the switch on the right hand side of the keyboard allows you to select between them.

The Keyboard bushings have also been replaced, as have the leather side panels. The main audio outputs have been swapped... the high level output is now on the jack socket and the low level out on the XLR.

I've never been happy with the gold "J-Wire" contacts under the keybed, and at some point they will need to be realigned/replaced (it was next on my "to do" list) - occasionally, when playing duophonically, the upper voice output to VCO 2 will glitch, but this is a common problem with the MKII & III Odysseys..."
