Launchpad for iOS // Soundpack - 80s Future Retro

"Get Launchpad for iOS here: http://bit.ly/LP-App

Take a trip back to the future. Just remember to bring your aviators.
The 1980s was a period of incredible change here on planet Earth. The Walkman revolutionised portable music. VHS won the war against Betamax. Humankind fought armies of giant laser-wielding robot dinosaurs. (Ok, so maybe not the last one.) This classic era, when combined with today's modern production techniques, packs one hell of a punch.

Using vintage synthesisers and original drum machines, 80s Future Retro boasts a professional, studio-quality sound that teleports you back to the glory days of neon. Powerful drums drive the mix with classic 80s rhythms. Bright pads and synth hooks build and combine to create a lush fabric of melody, while cutting FX and retro one-shots build atmosphere and tension.

Get ready for the future.

Moog Memorymoog Plus Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Basically (as much as the Memorymoog can be considered basic) this instrument is [like] 6 Minimoogs in one box that will store 100 programmed patches. Its chief designers were Rich Walborn and Ray Caster of the Norlin-acquired, "Bob Moog"-less Moog Music. Each voice has 3 VCOs, with tuning controls for VCO2 and VCO3. Unlike the Minimoog, the Memorymoog used Curtis 3340 chips as opposed to the Moog oscillators. Each oscillator can be set on pulse, saw, or triangle (or any combination of the three). And, like the Minimoog, the VCO3 can be used as an LFO to modulate the pitch of VCO1 and VCO2. But unlike the Minimoog, VCO2 can be synced to VCO1. Also, unlike the Minimoog, you have a separate LFO that controlls all of the voices. The LFO is switchable between triangle, pulse, positive and negative sine wave, square wave, and sample-and-hold. Each voice also has its own 24dB/octave filter which has variable keyboard tracking, switchable between 1, 1/3, and 2/3. The Memorymoog can also be set on unison mode which makes it a mono synth using all 18 oscillators for one note! In this mode you can switch between lowest, highest and last note priority as well as single or multiple triggering."

Intellijel Atlantis

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The Atlantis is heavily inspired by the architecture and sound of the classic Roland SH-101. It has always been one of our favorite synths and we really liked how the seemingly limited architecture allowed for all sorts of creative and musically useful sounds to be easily generated.

Just like the 101 it is quick to dial in beautifully rich bass and lead sounds. However this module uses triangle core VCOs (based on the Dixie core) instead of Saw core which respond much more musically to FM. The modulation oscillator can be used as an LFO or VCO (audio rate) and both track very precisely over 8 or more octaves.

In the mixer section you can adjust the balance of the primary oscillators waveforms including a sinewave which is normalled to the EXT IN jack. You could also patch in one of the modulation oscillators waveforms into this channel and be able to operate the Atlantis as a proper two oscillator synth. There is a switch labelled “LINK” which enables the modulation vco pitch to be based as an offset of the primary VCO. This is useful when using it as a stacked dual vco or when you have the mod VCO acting as the linear FM source for the primary vco and wish to maintain the ratio.

The filter section is a Roland style cascaded 4 pole multimode filter with LP, BP and HP modes. The LP Boost switch engages a special mode useful for the LP that produces a much fatter and prominent sound that is not drowned out by resonance (unlike the original SH-101). The filter self-oscillates to produce a very clean sine wave which also tracks 1V/Oct. Between the Mod VCO, Primary VCO, Sub Oscillator and resonating filter it is possible to layer up to four different pitches at one time.

The envelope section is an ADSR with a dual range switch. It also can be set to a looping mode which can be gated on/off externally.
The output VCA feeds into a two level output clipping circuit that you can use to get a much ballsier/dirtier sound.

MaxSynths Releases DR-910 - TR-909 Style VSTi

via MaxSynths

"DR-910 is a drum machine inspired by one of the most known percussive instruments that massively helped to define the sound of modern electronic music.

The instrument itself does not need presentations: used by artists like Moby, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy, Jean Michel Jarre, The Chemical Brothers, Faithless and many many others, the TR-909 quickly became one of the most classic pieces of gear in the electronic musician's arsenal.

In terms of sound the DR-910 VSTi is a faithful reproduction of the original device: each sound section (bassdrum, snare drum, etc.) has been developed to sound and act as similar as possible to the original instrument. The plugin includes also some extra features not available in the hardware version: a reverb unit with independent send controls for each sound source, a compressor tailored to work with drum sounds (based on the same engine of MaxSynths DSP-1) and a Lo-Fi FX processor.

These extra features will help the user to quickly shape the sound as desired without using external plugins. However if you need to process the signal with external effects, each drum module can be routed to four different stereo outputs that can be independently processed in the DAW."
