Moog Werkstatt Drones | Battles

"At Hopscotch Design 2015, Moog Music collaborated with Battles to present a special interactive synth-building workshop and ambient drone performance before their set at the festival. Workshop attendees, including members of the band explored the fundamentals of synthesis through building a Werkstatt-01 Analog Synthesizer. The newly built synths were then used by Battles in a unique live drone performance in which the roles of audience and artist oscillated throughout the afternoon.

Special thanks to Battles, whose unique artistry, experimentation and singular focus resulted in a special performance for all in attendance.Their new album "La Di Da Di" is now available at"

Hartmann Neuron synthesizer jam

Uploaded on Nov 24, 2009 smartti1970

"Images from documentaries about hubble.
Sorry for the clipping. Very sadly the power of this monster blasted my levels.
I onced rented an Hartmann Neuron for a try and did this Jam with it.
Just a sound to have an idea of what its about.
Tho the sound I found astounding, I still seem to find it like a PC computer in a arty hardware.
THe fan was so iritating too..
And the fact that it didnt seem to have a sound "motor, architecture" of its own, relying mainly on samples of other machines. Some of the samples where already evolving sounds so I was dispapointed that the evolving sound was not part of the sound manipulation capability.
Apart from that, the joysticks gave total access to filters and sound manipulations unheard of before..
like manipulating sound particules wich i found so magical.
The on board effect's processor is probably the best found on a synthetiser being on the lever of a Lexicon PCM series with its own color, realy astounding reverbes and delays.."

CS80 Uni/Poly Mod for Yamaha CS50, CS60 or CS80 [Unison Mode Mod for the CS80 /60/50]

Published on Aug 23, 2015 Timothy Conniff

This mod allows you to stack all voices on Yamaha CS50, CS60, or CS80. If you play one note all voices play. If you play two, then half the voice boards play on one note and the other half on the other and so on until you run out of voices. Details and pic of the board follow.

via this auction

"First, a couple of disclaimers... I am NOT the inventor of this concept. BUT I AM the inventor of the architecture of its design. My only claim on this particular modification is that I have now managed to make it available for virtually anyone, even those of you who do not know how to solder! Through printed circuit board design software, I have managed to go from a prototype to beginning production on a number of boards for the CS series. Obviously, the CS 80 has the most voices, and therefore will have the biggest sound from this modification. Nevertheless, one who has a CS 60 or even a 50 can benefit from this mod. What's more, it is not just a unison or monophonic modification. When you switch to the Unison mode, and play more than one key simultaneously it divides the allocation of voices accordingly. So instead of playing all 16 oscillators on one key, it will divide those 16 by the number of keys you press. Play a 4 note chord, and you get four oscillators on each note. Therefore, on a cs50, playing four notes in the Unison mode would be the same as playing in non unison mode, because the 50 only has 4 voices. In any event, this modification is usable in all three of those aforementioned models. I have recorded a YouTube video, and despite the fact that it is only 27 seconds long, you will be blown away! In fact, I deliberately kept it ridiculously simple and straightforward to be incredibly obvious as to its benefit.
. I am making it available in two forms: 1 for those of you who do not know how to solder, and the second is for anyone who has the skills to utilize a soldering iron and heat shrink. Lastly, if you decide to bring me your instrument and have me do the installation, the labor would be $100. Kit cost would still be the same ."

MOTHER-32 | Desert Test Patches

Published on Oct 12, 2015 Moog Music Inc

In June, Moog Music traveled to Arcosanti urban laboratory to take part in FORM, a three day happening curated by Hundred Waters. With three Mother-32 prototypes on-hand, visiting artists Kyle Dixon and M. Geddes Gengras explored the sonic capabilities of the Mother-32 in the alien landscape of Arizona's high desert.

M. Geddes Gengras uses a discrete Mother-32 and Minifooger Analog Delay to experiment with FM applications and LFO modulation routings, while Kyle Dixon integrates a pair of Mother-32s and a duo of Minifooger delays with his personal Eurorack case, using the 4ms QCD to clock each of the Mother's sequencers independently.

They are now joined into one single chip, the VCDM.

Build your own TB-303 with the Voltage Controlled Digital Modular.
The synth is an analog hybrid so it's patched and controlled through analog signals.

It has the building blocks for one analog synth voice.
OSC, SUB, Noise, Filter & VCA in a single chip.

You put together the blocks, only limited by your imagination, to create some great sounds.

Voltage controlled Pulse wave oscillator with separate PW and detuned SUB output.
0-5v CV input for pitch. Range C2-C7. 1volt/octave.
0-5v CV input for pulsewidth 50-95%.

SUB osc, -1 octave 0-5v swing.

White Noise Generator
0-5v output.

Voltage controlled digital 18dB lowpass filter with resonance.
0-5v unipolar audio input (can be lifted to +-2.5v bipolar)
0-5v CV input for Cutoff frequency.
0-5v CV input for Resonance.

Noise Music 003 | Eurorack | Piano Sample

Published on Oct 12, 2015 Iteration and Discord

"For this eurorack modular synthesizer performance, I made some dirty piano samples for the addac ultra wav to mangle. Next I am using the 4ms quad clock distributor to trigger the spectral multiband resonator. The qcd is being clocked by the loop out of the ultra wav which isn't stable because the loop length is constantly being varied. I am doing some mixing with an analog mixer off camera.
