"A library of kicks inspired and created with the Arturia Drumbrute and eurorack modular.

Brutal kicks have been recorded from "Kick 2" of the Arturia Drumbrute through various eurorack modules including the Serge ResEQ. Three different decay levels and accent on/off were captured, then processed through a few effect flavors to create a palette of kicks to build from! As you will hear, most of the kicks with a longer decay are perfectly capable of filling the role of a bass instrument as well. Have fun and get creative!

This expander is passive so doesn’t require a power cable.

All hardware performance/improvisation recorded straight to 2-track and mastered in Logic with compression and eq.

Lampeo and I go way back. Like middle school jazz band way back. In those days he played drums in a punk band and I played guitar in a jam band before people called those bands jam bands. Nowadays we make music with the knobs and the wires.

Lately, we've been playing monthly sets at Clatter in Frostburg, MD. No rehearsal, no preparation, just glorious improvisation."

"This is the third song with the Red Sound Darkstar XP2. It's a table-top 8-voice polyphonic, 5-part multitimbral virtual analog synthesizer.

I used for the recording the following FX chain:
Darkstar XP2 - TC Electronic Mimiq - DigitTech Ventura Vibe - DigiTech Obscura - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. The used fx varied depending on the recorded track.

The signal goes via a small Behringer mixer straight into the pc.

To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with just a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track.

Well, I decided to go back to the basics, but at the same time make something useful for the synth community and do a kind of competition (I like competitions;-). What's my best synth for ambient music :-)"
