"Korg M500 Micro-Preset synthesizer keyboard from the late 70's. Has some functional issues - read below:

Cosmetically good - see pictures. Some of the keys have some grayish discoloration. It might be removable, but I didn't want to hit is with chemicals. Missing the caps on the Traveler and Modulation Depth sliders.

Functional issues - the "Synth 1" and "Synth 2" buttons are not producing any audio output. The "Brass" button is outputting sound at a lower level from the rest of the sounds. The other sounds all seem to work correctly. The modulation seems to work and the portamento seems to work. All of the keyboard keys seem to trigger correctly."

Voyetra Sequencer Plus Mark III & MIDI Meets Guitar at NAMM '85

WBRA Television - Wayne Joness - December 1987 - Festival Fillers - Voyetra Sequencer Plus Mark III

Published on Mar 31, 2018 WayneJoness

"Video recorded in December of 1987, live at WBRA Television Studios in Roanoke, Virginia. Many thanks to Maureen Eiger who made this video possible. I used Voyetra Sequencer Plus Mark III, with a Kawai R50 drum machine, Roland JX-10 (synth brass), Yamaha TX-81Z (bass and other parts), and a humble Casio CZ-101 as my solo synth. More info: http://www.joness.com/gr300/voyetra_e..."

Also check out NAMM Expo '85 MIDI Meets Guitar By Tom Mulhern on Wayne Scott Joness' Vintage Roland Guitar Synth site.

On the Octave-Plateau Voyetra MIDI Guitar pictured below:

"The Octave-Plateau Voyetra MIDI Guitar (about $2,000.00) is a polyphonic synthesizer controller. It has no sound generating circuitry, but it can link directly to any MIDI-equipped synthesizer. Programs can be recalled via the numerical keypad on its upper bout, and such parameters as vibrato and pitch bending can be programmed into the touch plate/pickguards. Besides putting out a MIDI signal, it has a standard guitar pickup output."

"The successful hardware and software company Octave-Plateau Voyetra showed up to the 1985 Summer NAMM show with what may be the rarest MIDI guitar of all time, the Octave-Plateau Voyetra MIDI Guitar.

As a software company producing the acclaimed Sequencer Plus sequencing software, Octave-Plateau Voyetra had plenty of programming chops.

But the company was also responsible for the Voyetra Eight, a cutting edge polyphonic analog synthesier using a serial interface that predated MIDI.

Unlike the Roland 24-pin compatible guitars, Voyetra did not use pitch-to-MIDI processing, but instead used a microprocessor to scan the guitar for activity generated by the contact strings to the frets. This is approach is clearly faster and more accurate than the pitch-to-MIDI approach. In addition, the guitar had no less than 8 programmable knobs and switches for real-time control of various MIDI parameters. Notice in the photo the two rack-mount Voyetra Eight synths, presumably being controlled by the Octave-Plateau Voyetra MIDI Guitar

Little is known about this MIDI guitar. I have only found two references to the guitar, in the issue of Guitar Player Magazine, from September 1985, and in the English music technology magazine, Electronic Soundmaker & Computer Music, also from September of 1985."

BURG - blue moon array (subsequent 37, avalon, digitakt, modular)

"If you like my stuff please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/ and https://www.patreon.com/theBURG

This track was a big struggle, getting the subsequent 37 and grandstage to fit into the mix and workflow took a few days to get right. Also, I managed to make some proper misses while recording, so i had to do 7 or 8 retakes of the track until i finally got one I was happy with.

Also, since I have started filming everything in 1080p my cameras tend to get filled up way more quickly than before, so I did a take where the audio was good.. but I have no footage, haha. Need to get bigger SD cards OR just clear the old videos more regularly (not to self).

On this track I wanted get the subsequent 37 into its place, solos, leads etc will be the main use case .. good thing is that I can now alternate the ms-20 and S37, the KORG is acually doing a sequence on this one which is lovely since I have been using is mainly for leads.

There is a lot of stuff going on in this track. S37 has the RE-20 delay + strymon bluesky (plate algorithm). Grandstage has reverse delay from the particle + a big blackhole reverb from the eventide. Avalon handles the main bassline together with one of the volcas.

Digitakt is on beats and dub-chord duty plus some hihats and rimshots from the TR-8.

The modular has 4 sounds, BIA percussion, intro sequence on the braids, doepfer uVCO A-111-3 does the main top line sequence, rings does a shimmer style background sequence. All controlled by the eloquencer + the q-bit octone.

FX in modular rack, strymon timeline and keeley caverns, the EQD pedals are not in use on this one.

Gear list:

Moog subsequent 37, KORG grandstage, Nord NLA1, KORG ms-20 mini + SQ-1 sequencer, elektron digitakt, ROland TR-8, avalon bassline, KORG volca bass + volca keys.

Analog four, 0-coast, volca fm, and second volca bass are not in use.

Current modular rack - https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/445007

FX list:

RE-20 + strymom bluesky (S37), eventide space, catalinbread CSIDMAN, red panda particle, (Grandstage), strymon el capistan (ms-20 mini), ms70 CDR (volca keys), Strymon timeline + keeley caverns (modular), KORG kaoss PAD (samples).

I hope you will enjoy this one.

Korg Monologue - some of my presets/patches (demo) by DreamsOfWires

Published on Apr 1, 2018 DreamsOfWires

"Korg Monologue - some of the presets I made for this little analog synth. As an inexpensive monosynth, it has quite a pallet of sounds really; harsh & cold to soft & warm. I particularly like the variable waveforms and the ability to modulate them with the LFO.
Not the usual musical composition I normally upload, and no accompanying video footage this time, but I thought I'd break things up a bit with occasional gear demos. More of both coming soon, so subscribe or follow my Facebook page for regular updates. My music can also be purchased on Bandcamp, and you can support my work on Patreon (and see a few exclussive updates/versions). Links below.
See my other videos for more Monologue and other analogue synthesizer music.
By the way, I don't share presets or patches, sorry."

*Very Rare* ARP 4-Voice Electric Piano

Published on Mar 31, 2018 Kory Westerhold

"Just a simple walkthrough video of the ARP 4 voice electric piano I have for sale on Reverb. The piano itself is quite rare, and there aren’t any videos I could find of one online, so hopefully this is helpful to the 2 of you out there looking for more info in them 🤣

As far as I can tell, these were released (for a minute) under the ARP badge, but later rebranded to Rhodes when CBS musical instruments bought out ARP.

The preset voices one this are a traditional acoustic piano, something like a Wurlitzer, a Rhodes-y type electric piano and a harpsichord.

Hope this was helpful.

Also the sound seems to get a little out of sync towards the end. Sorry!"

Curious if the aftertouch works on this one.

"The Sequential Circuits PROPHET VS digital vector synthesizer. Rare, and even rarer in this NEAR MINT condition and with these specifications.

Sequential Circuits PROPHET VS digital vector synthesizer (user switchable USA/EU voltage (110v or 220v).
This is the only model that includes the musically distinctive vector waveform synthesis (realtime joystick controlled modulation/mixing of four unique high-quality digital waveforms), with the warmth of true analog filters (VCF) and amplifiers (VCA), DUAL LFOs and analog chorus. The Prophet VS stands in a class of one with a most unique sound signature that is a true joy to play and hear. Operating System Ver. 1.2 (rare and last, most expansive and most stable OS version)..."

"Very hard to find in this of condition, and especially with the rare OS Ver. 1.2. These were over-engineered and built by American craftsmen like a tank, to last.

Such an elegant musical instrument: Consider these features:

E-MU XL-7 Loop Noodle (Synthesis on a groove box ?)

Published on Mar 31, 2018 100 Things I Do

"There was a time where almost everyone manufacture had a Groove box in their line. At first they started out as a way to give people access to classic Roland sounds of the 808's 909's 303's and Juno and Jupiters. Over time they became a lot more complex. Close to the end of the era they were almost complete studios in a box. The E-mu XL 7 uses Emu's Command station form factor with the ability to add and use the sounds of the desktop models via Flash rom. Up to 4 different modules can be installed at any time. Most of the final range of romplers that came from EMU were made available in ROM format. Mine contains the Xtreme Lead + Proteus ROM's.

Interestingly besides just having samples of other instruments and sounds the XL-7 also comes with the normal building blocks of Sine, Saw, Square and Triangle waves. While not quite a virtual analog it has the complete flexibility to create and manipulate patches like any other synth. Also included are the famous E-mu Z-Plane filters first seen in the Morpheus! All in all I would put this in the same league as the JD-800!
