Great titles.

Modular experiment #1

Published on May 24, 2018 Dreadwvlf

"Finally got this thing up and running with my homemade case. I’m using Mutable stages and peaks for a bunch of modulation. Main sound sources are Micro Braids, Mangrove, Rings, and Pico Drums with samples I made. Clouds, Warps, Lo Fi Junky and Mxr m300 for textural stuff. Filters are the Belgrad and 5089. I recorded it directly into the Disting and turned it up afterwards. No other post stuff."

DSI / 8Dio Sequential Prophet X Official Add-On Series: "Across The Star Lake"

Published on May 24, 2018 8dioproductions

"Prophet X Live Demonstration by Troels Folmann. Audio was recorded directly out of the Prophet X.

Visit for more information.

- - - - -

One of the wonders of the Prophet X is that you can play old vintage synths through it - and route them through all the beautiful analog technologies.

Across The Star Lake is a patch from our Official Expansion Series for the Prophet X. We deep-sampled one of the most iconic "wonder child" synths of all time - then fused it together with a tapped tubular bell and two sine waves from the Prophet X.

The demo begins with a washed out ethereal vibe - generated by the Super Plate Reverb maxed out. The verb is lowered a bit - allowing for a more solo like sound. A tiny sequence is triggered and the true analog filters open up - especially on slider 1."

Sequencer #2 on the Sub-Harmonicon is making the Bass line with the uBraids.. uBraids is going into the WMD/SSF Multi-Mode Filter and the light strip is modulating the filter.

Dfam is making the drum noises modulated by the Mother-32's Tri-LFO output...

OmSonic Pixel Dust is the High Hats going through the Make Noise MMG filter.. MMG being modulated by Erica Synths Pico RND sample and hold circuit.

This was my first quick and simple patch with the Sub-Harmonicon with all the other modules racked up in my new expansion top case.."

Spectral Audio Syntrack Rare / Digital / Analog Synth

via this auction

"Good things can come in small, light-blue packages! The Syntrack combines a digital wavetable oscillator with an analog filter (Cascade Filter). The filter output passes through the analog Distorter which shapes your sound to be powerful and rough. It's a 1-unit rack module with full MIDI implementation and an aggressive analog sound. Front panel controls seem slim, but everything you need is right there to create simple but fat synth sounds."

Strymon AA.1 Amplifier Attenuator Eurorack Module - Demo

Published on May 24, 2018 strymon

"Most Eurorack modules output very hot audio signal levels that can easily overload the inputs of effects pedals or computer audio interfaces. The audio inputs in a Eurorack system also need to receive very hot signals. AA.1 amplifies and attenuates the signals to the appropriate levels, allowing you to combine your guitar gear and Eurorack modules in just about any way you can imagine. Check out the video to see four common use cases with musical examples and signal routing explanations."

"The SidStation is a MIDI-controlled synthesizer with real-time controllers. The heart of this synthesizer is the sound generating chip from the classic home computer Commodore 64. This sound chip, named SID (Sound Interface Device) was developed in the early eighties by Bob Yannes at MOS technology."

"The rediscovery of the SID-sound will be a pleasant surprise for many sound explorers that are looking for something more exiting than the current crop of analog imitating 'virtual' synthesizers."

"Features of the SidStation synth module include a rotary wheel for easy data entry, an alpha-numeric 2x16 LCD display with back-lighting, audio input and output, 3 syncable oscillators with traditional (triangle, sawtooth, pulse) waveforms, nice resonant filters, arpeggiators, effects and ring modulation. The numeric keyboard and large knobs offer a unique form of hands-on desktop dance / techno music production for the 90's and beyond!"

Sylphyo Quick Start: With a MIDI synthesizer

Published on May 24, 2018 Aodyo Instruments

Spot the synth.

"Want to use the Sylphyo to play your favorite synth? This video shows you how in one minute.
If this is the first time you use your Sylphyo, make sure you charge it for up to 8 hours before using it.
You will need a MIDI cable (not included) to connect the MIDI output of the wireless receiver device to the MIDI input of your synthesizer. Power the wireless receiver using the included USB cable and charger, and turn on your Sylphyo and your synth. That's it!

Sylphyo is a next-generation wireless MIDI wind controller made in France by Aodyo Instruments. The Sylphyo allows you to play any kind of sound (or synthesizer) like a traditional woodwind instrument, with their unmatched feeling and expressive possibilities. If you play the saxophone, recorder, flute, trumpet, clarinet, oboe, or whistle, you'll feel at home with the Sylphyo. If you don't, it's a wonderful way to get started with wind instruments. In both cases, the Sylphyo combines the countless possibilities of electronic instruments with the feeling of acoustic traditional instruments."

Mixing 5U Modular Tech With Tape Delay & Ensoniq ASR-10 Sampler

Published on May 24, 2018 The Daydream Sound

"Adding tape delay to your setup is old school and it’s fun and unique. In this video we’ll combing vintage technology (Analog Tape & Ensoniq ASR-10) With a modern analog synth. Well I guess it’s definitely old tech as well. Do I even have a point here? Anyway watch the video. It’s great!

Video Timestamp
00:03 - Preamble.
00:43 - Demo begins.
01:04 - The two oscillators are being sent to its analog filter and modulated by the EG.
02:16 - Oscillator 2 modulates the pulse with of oscillator 1.
03:15 - Analog Tape Delay begins.

For those interested. Here follows the patch. The ASR-10 is driving the MIDI to the Modular system. Its audio is also being fed to the Instrument Interface of the modular. Moving on to the system. The two oscillators are being sent to its analog filter and modulated by the EG. Later on in the video you’ll see that I take one of the oscillator outputs of the second oscillator and use it to modulate the pulse with of the first oscillator. Lastly the both the dotcom system and the ASR-10 are sent to a Macke mixer. This is where the tape delay is being created. If you want to know how to create Tape Delay here’s the video:"

Roland S-550 and Gotek USB-Floppy Emulator | Review & Demo

Published on May 24, 2018 Espen Kraft

"The Roland S-550 sampler is one of the best sounding vintage samplers out there. It has a really present sonically character and it "degrades" the sound in a very musically way that's pleasing to the ear.
Using a USB floppy emulator is on paper the right thing to do, but in truth it can be a real hassle so be aware of lots of button pushing, make list of whats stored on the USB mamory sticks and don't mess up LEFT and RIGHT buttons on the emulator! :D

The file structure on the memory stick is as follows:

U: ___ | IMG720 _____ | 000.IMG 001.IMG 002.IMG

The 000.IMG file must be the OS image file and the memory stick MUST be formatted with a MBR option - master boot record. Use something like RUFUS for WIndows to do this. Google it."
