Prophet 6 Noodle

Published on Jul 21, 2018 100 Things I Do

"Unsurprisingly The Prophet 6 reminds me a lot of my old Prophet 5. Not exactly the same ... but for sure from the same family! Most of the workflow is the same and the addition of the effects section, Poly sequencer, Arpeggiator, velocity + Stereo effects and voice panning makes it a no brainer! Well into the 'not an impulse purchase' money but a proper analog synth with vintage flavour + supports modern work flows! The secret is to really investigate the sweet spots on the filters and Poly mod (which there are many). Your time will pay off with some amazing and sweet patches :D"

Sequential Prophet 5 Advanced - new Sounds

Published on Jul 21, 2018 synthlegends

"My refurbished Prophet 5 Rev. 3.3 with some great mods like new PSU, Fatar keyboard with aftertouch, new bender board with a new storage of 960 patches, made by Synthtaste in Germany, Bochum.

The kit includes:
- Complete new semi weight keyboard
- Velocity sensitive matrix for future upgrades, i.e. polyphonic velocity to VCF/VCA
- Mechanical adapters
- Electrical connectors
- New bender board, structure powder coated in original design
- Controller PCB inside the new bender board
- Complete new RAM/EPROM PCB
- The new RAM/EPROM PCB substitutes the old 40 years aged RAM components
- For your REV 3.2 P5 you`ll get 8x 40 presets

I made some new patches and jammed around in this video. There is FX used, a Boss C2 Waza Craft chorus pedal and a Strymon Big Sky reverb pedal. Recorded with Apogee Symphony and Logic Pro X. I didn't use additional effects and mastering, compression.

Enjoy the vid and I hope you like it.
Cheers!"

Roland RS-09 vintage analog organ string synth

Cat pillow.

"Vintage Roland string machine from the 70's. It features a string and organ voice with divide down oscillators that excel at chorusing polyphony.

Volume, tone (low pass filter), vibrato controls, and octave transpose all function perfectly.

"Drawbars" control the 4 tone characteristics of the organ sound and there is a dual octave/tone switch next to the drawbars, along with Roland's famous ensemble chorus mode on a switchable push button.
The strings section is more aggressive when solo'd but still very pleasing mixed into the organ sound! It features two octave/tone buttons, it's own ensemble chorus, and a slider for slow or fast attack of the envelope.

Beyond that, an envelope section with release mode via flip switch and ensemble mode via flip switch. Both switches only work in 1 of the 2 positions. This is due to the age of the unit itself. The replacement switches are still available on Ebay as New Old Stock (nos) toggle flip switches. The unit functions flawlessly besides these two position switches only having 1 available setting. This is a quick repair for anybody handy with a screw driver and a soldering iron.

Finally a tuning control is on the final potentiometer.
The colored buttons need to be pressed on the bottom of their finger indent, not above them. It confused me at first because i was pressing the LED Intead of the giant ergonomic button... I never owned a Jupiter synthesizer but this is supposedly the organ and strings section from that legendary synth, so lots of history in this unit's circuitry. This is the warmest organ sound I've heard from solid state electronics, and certainly one of the most musical.

Cosmetically it's an 8.5/10 due to slight front right corner housing damage and very subtle and tiny discoloration on a few of the black keys. Probably will wash off, just didn't have it in me to use a cleaner on a vintage synth. It is evidenced in the photos. Neither affect the sound and are unoticable while in use or on stage.

Back panel has audio input for chorus use in Low, Medium, and High volume, sustain input, gate output, organ raw sig output, headphone output and stereo/mono output also with a selectable Low, Medium, and High output.

Only reason I am selling is my gf keeps complaining that I cant keep storing synths in the apartment... I see vintage synths as an investment. They keep going up in value and always bring immense joy to their user, but happy wife happy life, blah blah, so on the bay it goes!"

Fusebox-Analogue Solutions ''Interval generator'' with reverb

Published on Jul 21, 2018 Dziam Bass

"Hi everyone.
I have another movie with Analogue Synthesizer'' Fusebox'' from Analogue Solutions in action.
I added a little reverb which makes it more flexible.
of course there was not a little filter and resonance - because everyone likes to watch them ;-)
I used a lot of fun to use the'' Interval generator'' which raises the pitch from the ''patternator''. Later I picked up a little decay for a longer whore so it made longer sequencing, faster and more attractive.
Check it yourself but remember that this synth is addictive.
Thanks for watching!!!"

VOID ADSR

My ADSR Published on Jul 21, 2018 Sean Pendleton

"More test driving of the ADSR I made. The outputs on the left are normal, attenuverted, and a mix of the two ADSRs attenuverted outputs. There is a switch to turn an incoming gate signal into a trigger if you want your envelope extra snappy. That's also my mixer with mutes next to it and on the top right my 'Brutalist' filter."

This is my musical portrait of Ecclesiastes 1:2-11.

2“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” 3What advantage does man have in all his work Which he does under the sun? 4A generation goes and a generation comes, But the earth remains forever. 5Also, the sun rises and the sun sets; And hastening to its place it rises there again. 6Blowing toward the south, Then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. 7All the rivers flow into the sea, Yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, There they flow again. 8All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. 9That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun. 10Is there anything of which one might say, “See this, it is new”? Already it has existed for ages Which were before us. 11There is no remembrance of earlier things; And also of the later things which will occur, There will be for them no remembrance Among those who will come later still.

Supreme Sonic Systems TS-4 (Indian Electronic Tamboura)

This one is in via Scott Laraway:

"I wanted to share with you my most recent synth acquisition - Supreme Sonic Systems TS-4 (Indian electronic tamboura).

I also have a saarang/radel DZ soft Indian synthesizer/electronic tamboura and I’ve noticed there is a dearth of info on these peculiar and delightful instruments. In fact the only info I’ve ever discovered relating to them was on matrixsynth, hence my contacting you.

Anyways this synth is very similar in sound, design and operation to those analog radel E tambouras. As usual these synths hardly offer realistic emulations of the actual instruments but instead offer delightful analog timbres with controls and design that provide rudimentary Hindustani accompaniment. Of primary interest is the accompanying pamphlet/manual, which offers arguably the most info on these instruments I’ve ever come across. It was this pamphlet that I thought would be of most use to matrixsynth followers. Also of note is that this isn’t made by radel! I’ve never seen or read anything about supreme sonic systems but I will be googling it after I finish playing with my lovely new instrument."

I asked Scott when he thinks these were produced and he believes they are from the 80s.

"This listing is for a rare & vintage Synclavier PSMT Synthesizer keyboard workstation. The workstation includes everything photographed. There are multiple different units and 7 tubs full of different cords. All of the items photographed were kept together, so I assumed it all belongs to this unit, but I am not 100% sure.

***This unit is being sold untested in as is condition without returns. I have no idea how to even begin setting it up to test its functionality. It came from a storage estate that had a wide variety of musical recording equipment.***

Due to how much comes with this unit, this listing is for local pick up only. The item is located in Orange County, California. If an out-of-state buyer is interested, the shipping must be arranged and paid for by the buyer."

"Beautiful rev 2 Deckards Dream. It’s from the latest run that just shipped so it’s crispy new and is much slimmer than the last run. The synth is in perfect working order and sounds amazing.

This unit has the latest firmware 1.2.5 and has been loaded with Paul Schillings awesome presets. Bank 1 is very convincing CS80 Blade Runner Presets and Bank 2 has been loaded with his weirder polysynth presets. These presets sound incredible and have made it more difficult to get rid of this thing but I need the cash unfortunately.

It will come shipped in it’s original box with the power supply as well as an additional box with plenty of protection. I’ll ship worldwide as well, let me know if you have any questions."

This US manufactured version of the Oberheim Xpander (far superior in build and component quality to the later Japanese ones) is in full working order and been in a smoke free studio with good temperatures in my ownership since 2015.The only evident defect is that the front panel is slightly faded with age (see photos)."

032//An Angel Falls - a beautiful ambient Eurorack patch using 2x Moog Mother 32

Published on Jul 21, 2018 Alastair Wilson

"A heart-wrenching, semi-self-generating modular patch using a small Eurorack setup sent through an Eventide Space black hole reverb and an Eventide Timefactor on digital delay setting.

Having only 2 sequencers and 3 dedicated oscillators, I rarely make chordal patches - but if I'm not pushing my gear to its limit, what am I doing? So I built this patch up from the idea of morphing between notes in chords. Many cables later it's not so chordal, but morphing notes still fill in the background as the melody and bass sing.

PATCH NOTES:
The lower M32 supplies the pluck melody, clocked by a square LFO. Another LFO (the rate of which is modulated) stops and starts the sequence, while sequence steps are randomly held. The filter cutoff is modulated randomly, and resonance by the gate output of the higher M32.
The bass comes from the higher M32, clocked randomly by the lower - the filter cutoff is modulated by an LFO, and the resonance randomly modulated.
The oscillators that form the morphing background chords are a Maths LFO running at audio rates and the Minimod VCO. A gate (attenuated for tuning) changes the note of the Maths oscillator. The oscillators are mixed together with a square LFO controlling the mix, before being mixed with the bass to be filtered.

ROLAND SE-02 // DREADBOX EREBUS V. 2 playing Bach Prelude D major // the odd couple 9

Published on Jul 21, 2018 LESINDES

"ROLAND SE-02 and DREADBOX EREBUS V. 2.
My challenge here was to tweak a proper sound for the BACH Prelude D major, BWV 850.
Dry humour here because there are no FX used at all!
So different machines lead to different ideas -- so please don't look
for too much similarities!
Since (nearly) all of them are pure mono synths
all recordings are done in 2 takes. I filmed
the melody part."
