"The E-mu Morpheus was an innovative machine at the time of its release in 1993. The big news was the introduction of its "z-plane" filters, that had the capability of "changing smoothly their function" over time. The Morpheus contains 8MB of 16-bit samples as the starting points for its sounds. There are 197 filters to choose from. There are three banks of 128 sounds. The hyperpresets allow you to stack or split up to 32 sounds in a patch. A bit hidden in the MidiMap there are also 28 effects, including reverb, delay, chorus, phaser and flanger. Other features include three sets of stereo outputs, user definable alternate tuning, and extensive MIDI implementation."

Roland Jupiter 6 "OMG BASS!!!!!!!"

Published on Oct 7, 2018 synthartist69

"I have read comments on the web and on YT that the Jupiter 6 is thin sounding and that it lacks any kind of bass. My mission is to help educate and enlighten those who are unaware of how FAT this gem really sounds. This bass is getting into Minimoog territory and that says something because I am a HUGE Moog fan and love my Model D. I am using an Alesis SR18 for drums. l would love to hear your comments and thoughts on the bass you hear in this video. Thanks for watching guys!!I Jim"

Playing With Poly-mod (Prophet 6 Poly-modPatch creation)

Published on Oct 6, 2018 100 Things I Do

"Finally back from my trip to Europe and time to create some new videos! I thought this week we would take a look at the Poly-Mod section of the Prophet 6. Poly-mod is quite a unique feature, even though the concept was first seen with the Prophet 5 in the 1970's I can only think of a handful of polysynths with this feature."

Novation Peak | Superhero

Published on Oct 7, 2018 Tim Shoebridge

"Here is a track I wrote exclusively on the Novation Peak 8 voice polyphonic hybrid synthesiser. I called the track 'Superhero' as it has that kind of vibe going on. All sounds except for the drum track are programmed on the Peak. It is not a synth that grabs a lot of mainstream attention which is a huge shame to be honest because it is seriously BLOODY GOOD!!"

How to make bass sounds with a synth like Moog Grandmother

John Hollis Flatline Compressor - Techno Drums! Volca Bass Yamaha DJXII

Published on Oct 7, 2018 ChrisLody

"So I made a couple of John Hollis Flatline compressors a few years back in a really badly designed box as I was way too excited to try them outto bother building them properly. It was designed for use with a bass guitar but I recently discovered they sound awesome when used for drum compression and pump like absolute hell! So I thought it was about time I re-boxed them and made a demo.

The first 2 bars show the drum loop on my dusty old DJXII played in bypass mode on the Flatline with it being switched on just afterwards. The difference is not subtle I think you'll agree and makes for massive techno drum sounds. The Volca Bass and Monoton Delay is also running through it and it does a great job of keeping its resonance in check, then lifts the noise floor loads at the end!

All in all a great bit of kit if you want an opto-compressor with very few controls and don't mind a bit of soldering. I used the following links I think:

Sequenced Jam #88 (Roland System-500 510 and 505)

Published on Oct 6, 2018 Rheyne

"Sounds are from a Roland System-500 510 filter self-oscillating, and the 510 pulse wave through the left side of a System-500 505 filter. Slow bass swells from a Noise Engineering LIP are sent to the right half of the 505 filter.

The self-oscillating filter from the 510 is sent to a Strymon Magneto, and the 510 pulse wave is sent to a Make Noise Morphagene, processed as a granulated echo. Reverb on the overall mix is from a Strymon BigSky. Sequenced with an Eloquencer, clocked by a Make Noise Wogglebug. Recorded in one take with no overdubs."

Roland Jupiter 6 "This is PHAATTT!!"

Published on Oct 6, 2018 synthartist69

"A lot of people describe the Jupiter 6 as thin sounding. Well, I disagree. I mean, it can sound thin if you want it to or it can sound phaatt if you want it to. I bought this Jupiter 6 in Dallas Texas a few years ago. It was purchased new in 1983 for a 14 year old girl who was taking piano lessons. Well, she played it about 3 times and quit the lessons. It went into the closet never to be seen again until late 2015. It looks brand new and the keys still feel brand new. I changed the battery and it has worked like a charm for me. Not sure why I get this glare or image distortion in my video when I use lighting... if anyone knows I would love to hear from you! Thanks for watching..."
