Roland V-Synth & System-8 "The Arrival"
Synthesizer Demo by Rik Marston
***Watch in HD!!*** ***Turn it UP!!*** ***No Talking!!!***

I promised a little something special....
The Ahnxian Space Administration spacecraft "Centillion 7"
has finally passed the asteroid belt & reached the planet Jupiter!
Objective: To get the incredible power of the JUPITER-Xm!
On this channel, we don't just BUY a synth. We GO GET IT!
So to the planet Jupiter we went, facing intense radiation belts,
asteroids, comets & other random space debris.
This video shows the final moments when we use the sacred
combination of "Jupiter-8 Tones". We were able to obtain
a fully functional Roland Jupiter-Xm! I was so happy about it
I was only able to record some quick iARPEGGIO audio demos.
But stay tuned! Detailed Jupiter-Xm tweaking is on it''s way!

Phil Western helped found Subconscious Records with Skinny Puppy's Dwayne Goettel in Vancouver, BC, 1993. He was also a founding member of the bands Download, PlatEAU, Frozen Rabbit, and Off and Gone [via Wikipedia]. He passed away in February 4, 2019 at the age of 47.

Digitone / PC stick improvisation: Ambient Piano

Floyd Steinberg

"A quick video outside my normal release schedule. Here's the Digitone sequencing a PC stick which is running SoniVox 'Eighty-Eight' and Valhalla Shimmer. (I was curious if the PC stick can run this rather huge plugin and the it's definitely at it's limit running this)."

4 Minutes Demo of the Arturia Matrixbrute Custom Waveform Lfo.

Sound Provider

"One function I like on my lovely Matrixbrute Synth is the ability to draw your own LFO.

I didnt t find a good demo about it, so I decided to make a quick one.

This ability to draw your own waveform appeared with the 2nd firmware, it can be super powerful and be used on very complex patch, it can be also pretty useful for techno or Dubstep for wobble bass modulation but not only.
For this Demo I used a very simple bass patch with only 4 looped notes to focus on the modulation. The lfo here is modulates only one of the two synthesizer filters (The Vcf1 Steiner, the VCF2 Ladder is bypassed here)
The blue or Red color a the the bottom of the matrix show if the step is smooth or snappy.
For people how are interested the Kick is "Sp Techno Kick and Rumble 130Bpm 26" From Sound Provider :"Techno Kick Now" Sound-bank and the HiHat is "Sp Techno HH 125 Bpm Off Beat 02" (time stretch to 130Bpm) from Sound Provider "Techno Hi Hat Now" https://www.sound-provider.eu/"

New Synthetic Sound Labs in Conjunction with Division-6 Buchla Format 3650 Digital Sequencer

"Synthetic Sound Labs has just released its new 3650 Digital Sequencer module – SSL’s first venture into the popular Buchla 200e format – and is in close collaboration with the folks at Division-6.

Simple operation and straightforward functions make the 3650 easy to learn, and the concise panel graphics avoid menu-diving syndrome.

The 3650 has 5 song memories to string up to 16 sequences together, and 7 sequence memories with up to 16 steps per sequence.

Sequences of up to 16 steps are easily programmed using the built-in keyboard and octave switches, covering a range of 5 octaves. A separate Accent output pulse is available which can be selected for each of the steps, allowing triggering of other sequencers, envelopes, etc.

Sequences can be set to any length up to 16 steps by using LOOP feature. Setting a step using the REST button, holds previous pitch and doesn’t fire PULSE out, while setting a step to SLUR, changes to the new CV and doesn’t fire the PULSE out.

The keyboard can be used to “Live” transpose a running sequence, or as a tiny CV keyboard while in Standby mode without altering the programmed sequence.

The 3650 has a convenient internal clock, but external clocks are recommended to allow the greatest timing flexibility.

The ACC (ACCessory / ACCent) output can be programmed into each step and has 3 operating modes. The ACC output can also be used to output the internal clock, but not at the same time.

The Pulse Output has 16 different width timing options, including 3 different ratchets.

The Start Input resets the sequencer to step #1. It also puts it in run mode if it is not already. The End Output sends a gate pulse when a running sequence drops off the end (goes past 16 or hits a LOOP step). The Start Input and End Output can work together to allow easy cascading of two or more 3650s.

The SSL 3650 is an easy to use sequencer with powerful features not available in many other modules of it’s kind.
SSL uses quality fiberglass-epoxy printed circuit boards, precision automated robotics and meticulous hand-crafted assembly assure years of trouble-free service.

Synthetic Sound Labs has been in the analog synthesizer business since 1973. The 3650 is yet another in SSL’s growing line of new synthesizer modules. Proudly made in the USA.

Pricing is $495 US and available exclusively through NoiseBug, Pomona, CA."

Death By Audio Rooms Stereo Reverb Jam with Elektron Digitone

Perfect Circuit

"The Death By Audio Rooms reverb pedal is a stereo effect with six different algorithms. It will get dirty and distorted if you push the output levels, or you can keep them lower and get cleaner sounds. The Rooms is great for producing textures and ambiences. Another feature we liked on the Rooms was the alt switch which switches the settings between the main knobs and another smaller set of knobs.

Sequential Rev 2 Synthesizer Demo

Pure Ambient Drone

"The Prophet Rev2 is Dave Smith’s re-imagining of his Prophet ’08 poly synthesizer. As Dave Smith puts it, “The Prophet Rev2 is the realization of our effort to enhance and improve everything we could about the original design — all at a more accessible price.” The Prophet Rev2 retains all of the key features of the Prophet ’08 and expands on them.

The Prophet Rev2 gets its bold, punchy sound from its 2/4 pole, low-pass, resonant Curtis filters per voice. These are the same filters used not only in the Prophet ’08, but in many classic instruments of the 70’s and 80’s. A separate Audio Mod control adds additional harmonic complexity and movement."

Polyend Tracker Sessions #1: "MLT - Kiwi" (feat. Medusa and Tetra)

Miltos Schimatariotis

"Taking a break from the Medusa tutorials since Tracker arrived last week! This track started while experimenting with the various features of the Tracker but ended up finished and I even gave it a name: "Kiwi" 😊. One thing that I found impressive with the Tracker is that once you understand the workflow the creation process is really fast ..and fun!

Everything you hear in the video is programmed in the Tracker except the Medusa that I play live. The whole performance was recorded live in Cubase where I did the mastering for the released track. So no exports or stems and without a regular mixing process.

I would say that, in this case, the "trick" to get a good sound without 'regular mixing' is to pay some attention to your samples, one-shots, and of course your arrangement. But the nice thing with the 8 tracks of the Tracker is that it makes you be more 'resourceful' about your arrangement so it is quite difficult to overload your patterns.

Let me know what you think and if you would like to see a track walkthrough in a next video. Thanks for watching!

If you would like to support me, I have the track also available at:

YAMAHA CS-60 + Stand & Pedals

"Superb example of the CS-80’s slightly more portable cousin. Supplied in full working order and with warranty. Comes complete with expression pedal, sustain pedal and stand.

This synth will be serviced before shipping. This will take approximately 30 working days from purchase.

Also comes with stand (not pictured), plus both sustain and expression pedal.

Polyphonic analogue synthesizer that needs no introduction. But the tone… the richness… the ease with which wonderful sounds emerge from it… (OK, that’s a small introduction).

Our head synth tech James Walker has worked on many CS synths and this one will be playing wonderfully and sounding perfect when it arrives with you.

Compared to its larger relation, these travel much better and don’t tend to require work after shipping."

Oberheim OB-X 8 Voice SN 800801

via this auction

"Oberheim OBX 8-voice vintage analog synthesizer from 1980. I’m the first and only owner. This synth was used for a few short tours through Germany, maybe three times for about 6 weeks each. It was always placed inside the bottom part of its heavy duty flight case on top of a CP70. As of 1984, it has been in a smoke-free studio only.

It has recently been restored to its former glory and future-proofed by Rob Rosen in Los Angeles. An Encore MIDI interface was installed and is working as advertised, expanding the number of patches to 128 and enabling remote playing in both directions. No cosmetic enhancements have been made, but more fancy side panels are available from Rosen Sound, if such an upgrade is desired. No flight case, no original box."

Oberheim Matrix-12 - Cleaned and Future Proofed SN P63701

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Oberheim Matrix 12 vintage analog synthesizer from 1985. This synth was - upon purchase - instantly modded by Juergen Michaelis (Jomox) in Berlin with individual outputs for all 12 voices, installed on the leftside (see photo). So it’s like a more convenient pair of Xpanders with a keyboard. Admittedly, I ended up not using them very much but thought the lack of them was the only drawback compared to the Xpander. This machine has been kept exclusively in a smoke-free studio for its entire life.

It was recently cleaned and future-proofed by Rob Rosen in Los Angeles. It has the smoothest and creamiest analog pad sounds available to this day. No flight case, no original box."

KAWAI K5000S - Sounds, Patches & Ambient Soundscapes | Synth Demo

synth4ever

"Kawai K5000S digital additive synthesizer demo, featuring various sounds, presets, patches & ambient soundscapes. This Kawai K5000S synth demo showcases various K5000 sounds including pads, arpeggiator, leads, textures, FX and more.

Released in 1996 in a sleek design, the Kawai K5000S was Kawai's top of the line digital workstation synth at the time and one of the few additive synthesizers released to the market. The Kawai K5000S is part of the Kawai K5000 additive synth series, which includes the Kawai K5000W and K5000R.

The Kawai K5000S features 32 voices of polyphony and a digital additive synthesis engine, with over 1000 editable parameters per patch. It has a 128-band formant filter as well as separate resonant 24dB lowpass and highpass filters. There are 2 LFOs - one for formant filter, one freely assignable to other destinations.

The Kawai K5000S also has a decently featured arpeggiator on board with 40 patterns plus 8 user patterns. Memory-wise there are 200 patches and 64 performances available (which allows up to 4 patches to be played at once). In addition, the keyboard features velocity and aftertouch, and there are 4 effects algorithms with 32 effects to choose from.

The Kawai K5000S is the only version of the K5000 series to have dedicated knobs for more hands-on control, which allows for much more spontaneous live tweaking. The Kawai K5000 series of synthesizers can create some gorgeous ethereal ambient soundscapes with constantly evolving timbres over time. The use of additive synthesis and a formant filter also gives the Kawai K5000 synths their own unique tone, and allows you to create new sounds that are uncommon to other synths.

Overall, if you are interested in digital synthesizers and want to try something different from FM synthesis, subtractive synthesis, wavetable synthesis etc then the K5000 series may up your alley thanks to its comprehensive additive synthesis engine. The K5000S is often sought after by those who enjoy adding a new palette of sound to their music, and is recommended if you want to try something different in the realm of synthesis."

New Waldorf Iridium Trailer, Sound Demo, Official Announcement Press Release & New Pics

Follow-up to this post.

"Waldorf Music makes more waves by bringing flagship’s futuristic functionality and advanced tonality to desktop with Iridium Synthesizer

REMAGEN, GERMANY: having opened eyes and ears when introducing its forward-looking flagship Quantum Synthesizer keyboard to widespread critical acclaim in 2018, Waldorf Music is proud to introduce its Iridium Synthesizer ‘sibling’ — sharing futuristic functionality and advanced tonality and applying those traits with welcomed added extras to a compact desktop form factor living up to the high-quality synthesizer developer’s demanding design standards — as of June 12…

Following in the Quantum Synthesizer’s trailblazing footsteps, the Iridium Synthesizer features a generous high-resolution multitouch display working — with haptic help — in perfect harmony with an adroitly arranged control panel positioning all functions for speedy operation. Noticeably new to the demonstrably different Iridium Synthesizer is its integrated 4 x 4 pad matrix, used to call up sequences, chords, scales, and arpeggios. A quick glance under the hood, however, reveals that the Iridium Synthesizer still shares the same selectable sound generation processes per oscillator (OSC 1, OSC 2, and OSC 3). As such, it can convincingly and comprehensively reproduce the sound spectra of the following five synthesis types: Wavetable, Waveform, Particle, Resonator, and Kernels.
