Original Prophet 10 and Strandberg Guitar Magic

video by Sean McKee

"I recently used an original Sequential Prophet 10 Rev 3 synthesizer on some songs for the album I'm writing with Jon Anderson of YES, and my band ZAP with Ike Willis from Frank Zappa's band, and Chip Z'Nuff. This video gives a little demo of how cosmic the combination of a vintage synth and a modern guitar can sound."

Prophet Rev2 Synth - Vintage Voice Modeling - Free Patches

video by Creative Spiral

"Achieve vintage voice modeling behavior with the Prophet Rev 2 synthesizer. I have two new FREE vintage template patches available. In this video, I discuss Voice Component Modeling (VCM), and demo the new free template patches, and give an overview of the topic of per-voice modeling to achieve vintage poly synth character, like old MemoryMoogs, Prophets, Jupiters, OBXs, and CS-80s.

The two new free patch templates are available here (along with many others): https://www.PresetPatch.com/user/Crea...

I also have a full bank of 128 advanced voice modeled patches available for sale in my Rev 2 VCM Sound Set: https://sellfy.com/sounddesign/p/figz/

Boss SY-1000 Resynthesis - Reamping - Next Level Guitar Synth USB Six Split Outputs

video by WayneJoness

"https://www.joness.com/gr300/SY-1000.htm [some pics of the inside there] One of the breakthrough features of the Boss SY-1000 is access to the individual string inputs and outputs in the USB audio stream. With this feature you can record a guitar performance into your DAW then freely experiment with using different SY-1000 patches on the recorded track. Boss calls this resynthesis.

This is similar to the process of reamping, where a guitar signal is recorded dry then played back, or 'reamped' through different amplifiers. But resynthesis takes this to a whole new level, since you can not only change the amplifier, but the kind of guitar used on a track, switching from a Strat to a Les Paul, or Acoustic, or even a Roland GR-300 Guitar Synthesizer. With each string recorded individually there is also a whole new level of editing and creativity available as well. You can literally correct the performance of one note without having to punch in on the entire performance."

"Audio source coming from Model 258, Dual Oscillator in Low frequency to the 296e and then connected to the 1979 SMP (Stereo Microsound Processor). Some random modulations from the Model 266 to the VCA CV inputs of the 296e."

Joy Division - Disorder (Synthesizer Cover)

video by Garrett DeBell

"Taking a much needed break from my own material for a minute and felt inspired to cover JD but with a Moog! I learned the parts by ear and and fit it within the keyboard the best I could. The Moog Matriarch does all the melodic work as well as some special FX and drones. Drums were programmed into Ableton with a mouse. I would like to add a new drum solution soon but undecided.
Mixed in daw and summed to a Tascam 424 MkII!"

Father & Daughter Cinematic Synthesizer Jam Improvisation with Hydrasynth / Grandmother / Prophet 08

video by Denis Polic

"My little girl came today in my studio, and asked if she can jam with me, so i said: "sure, jump in". She likes the "meowing" sound of Grandmother, and started improvising a melody on it, and i tought: if i can put some chords underneeth, it could be a fine jam, so i turned the cam on, started playing with her, and there is the result, hope you enjoy it!!!

Cheers and peace on Earth!!!"

Slow Dance - Digitakt, Digitone, Octatrack MKII Live Performance

video by EZBOT

"This was the song that I would play at the end of my live performances before live performances went online only. Oddly it is one of the most difficult songs to perform that I play live. The difficulty is moving from one part to another without simply muting and unmuting sounds. The bed of the song is a very full pad on the Digitone that changes significantly with any adjustments to the synthesis parameters, so I was actually was avoiding it, as the purpose of the song is a feeling of completeness and understanding - simplicity. There is always a little puzzle you must unlock before you're truly ready to perform a song live on hardware, and that is why I love it so damn much.

FACTORY SOUNDS
1725 patches
523 wavetables

OSCILLATORS
3 oscillators per scene.

8 versatile oscillator algorithms: Classic, Sine, Wavetable, Window, FM2, FM3, S&H Noise and Audio Input.

Classic oscillator is a morphable pulse/saw/dual saw oscillator with a sub-oscillator and hard sync.

FM2/FM3 oscillators consist of a carrier and 2 or 3 modulators and various options.

Most algorithms (except FM2, FM3 and Audio input) offer up to 16-voice unison at the oscillator level.

Oscillator FM and ring modulation between oscillators 1-2 and 2-3.

Most oscillator algorithms (except FM2, FM3 and Sine) are strictly band-limited, yet still cover the entire audible spectrum, delivering a clear, punchy and clean sound.

1960s Gibson G101 Vintage Combo Organ SN 5515

Love the look of this one.

"1968 Gibson G101 combo organ in excellent condition, fully serviced and ready to be played. Rare in any condition, the G101 was manufactured for Gibson by Lowrey and is best known for its extensive use by Ray Manzarek in the Doors, as the versatility and reliability of the G101 was preferred by Manzarek over the Italian Vox Continentals available concurrently with this model. And given the extensive overlap in circuitry with Lowrey's DSO-1 Heritage Deluxe organ used by the Beatles on Sgt. Pepper's, the G101 absolutely nails the sparkling reedy harpsichord tones of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

The tonal options on the G101 are vast, and the controls very user-friendly, with three color-coded and logically laid out banks governing the bass register, vibrato/ sustain/ percussion, and the various voicings separated by Flute tabs (white) and Horn/String tabs (yellow and blue). A perfect middle ground between the reedy attack and nuance of the Vox Continental and the bold, bubbly textures of a Farfisa, the G101 straddles these extremes with aplomb, offering rich layers of transistorized combo organ perfection. With the Sustain and Staccato tabs, some piano and harpsichord-esque tones can be realized, and the multiple vibrato tabs allow for more present, choppy textures or smooth warbling tones. The Percussion feature also operates as it should, albeit fairly subtle in its effect, activated by a small bulb with a rate set by the corresponding knob, producing more of a tremolo effect layered with the vibrato.

The circuit has been thoroughly serviced by Synapse Audio, and all keys are even and respond smoothly. All functions and tabs work as they should, and it's worth noting that the Reverb tab is for an external effect (the G101 was never offered with internal reverb). The keyboard features a trio of new knobs, and all tabs feature their original lettering. While the small badge on the organ facing the performer is missing, the particularly large and raised Gibson badge on the flip out compartment that secures the legs is intact, as is the Gibson model/serial plaque. The stock handles are intact too, and new thumbscrews with the proper threading have been sourced to secure the legs compartment.

Cosmetically, the organ is quite the looker with its original Seafoam and Fawn two-tone covering. There are a few bald corners and modest wear on the exterior from honest use, yet the organ presents very well and is structurally sound."

"All waveforms, LFO, switches, CV/Gate aso. work fine and it's a nice little add on for an ARP 2600, Odyssey, Axxe or any other synth with CV/Gate and an external audio input. It's quite a rare synth expander from ARP and sounds great and as analogue as it gets. US voltage and power plug 110V"

Korg 770 Analog Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

The 770 is a very early, very cool Korg synth, but you probably know that or you wouldn't be looking. White noise, tuned noise, 2 different ring modulator modes, 2 oscillators, High and Low Pass filters. It has a mean, raw sound that later pieces like MS20 can only dream of!

The great thing about these is they sound like nothing else. If you're an analog synth guy who already has the normal stuff, this definitely opens up another range of sounds you can create. In fact you can go inside the unit and tweak trim pots to alter the behavior of the filters! You can also run external audio through them.

The only issue with this is the auto bending feature doesn't work consistently, but it isn't broken. Oh, and apparently it was used near some spray paint as there is a bit detectable on the right end cheek and a very subtle amount on the far right side of the control panel, but unless you're staring at it under bright light you won't even notice."

"Recent servicing includes a new High Pass Filter slider, new Pitch Bend wheel, and a new voice chip. All switches, connectors, pots and jacks have been thoroughly cleaned, and all functions and features of this Juno operate as intended. Cosmetic wear is limited to some light scattered scuffs and marks on the edges of the enclosure. The graphics are pristine, and the key caps are virtually unfaded, with all original slider caps intact."

SOMA LYRA-8 + Guitar + Strymon Iridium // The Foot Strikes Back

video by Dexba

"The idea was too good to be left as one performance, so now I am back, with a different (read: better) guitar, new pedals (like the lovely Strymon Iridium), and a bit of thought put into the video!
This time you will be hearing a distorted, compressed SOMA Lyra-8 going into a fake Marshall Plexi, provided by the Iridium, with some added love coming from Fender, both the guitar and the -evergrowing- array of pedals in front of me.
The result surprised me, putting me in territories soundtrack-like, with Doom being one of my favorites (the recent one, from Mick Gordon).
I am very satisfied with the result, and I will never stop encouraging you to play Lyra with all your body part (results may vary and the upload site may vary too) 😄
Enjoy!"
