Radiohead - Everything in it's right place - by Denis NGC0

video upload by NGC0 Music

"A short version of 'Everything in it's right place', one of my favorite Radiohead songs. (The raining effect is just an internal joke, for being nicknamed 'Sad video FX guy' by Davie504)

On this track I have performed all parts myself using the gear below:
- Moog Matriarch (Bass)
- DSI OB-6 (Pads, stabs, lead, source sound for the vocoder)
- MPC Live 2 Retro (Drums)

Chromaphone Quick Patch Demo

video upload by boxoftextures

"Quick demo of some Chromaphone patches I've made. Was minding my own business when it occurred to me that my drummer buddy could make use of some of these patches. So I figured I'd make a 20 second demo so I could show him what I was thinking and then a few hours later somehow ended up here with a complete (quick) demo. It happens, I guess.

All patches are mine, and the end theme under the credits is 100% Chromaphone.

Oberheim OB-X8 - is raw purity enough?

video upload by True Cuckoo

"Oberheim has released a new synth with the helping hand of Sequential. It's a purist analog approach to the legacy of Oberheim. But is that enough in this day and age? Now that we're so used to advanced modulation matrixes and digital effects, and many synthesis methods on board etc? I think this appeals to a certain purist demographic. And for them it'll surely sound very much like that certain legendary sound that you might remember from a lot of productions. But for me, this is not a nostalgic experience at all. My personal nostalgia lies elsewhere. So I'm immune to any form of nostalgic reaction this might conjure. I'm experiencing this from the start. And even if I appreciate the pure balanced tone, I personally think it's a little bare minimum when it comes to functionality. How do you feel about it? Is this 'just right' for you?"

"Main Titles [From Blade Runner]" - Vangelis (Eurorack Modular, Deckard's Voice, Juno, Sub37 & more

video upload by Piotr Garbaczonek

"Thanks for watching!

RIP Vangelis

One of my biggest inspirations in music has died recently, and after rewatching the movie Blade Runner from 1982, I decided to make this little tribute to him. I am covering the 'Main Titles' track by him.

I don't own a Yamaha CS-80, because it costs a fortune and a half :), but I have the Black Corporation's Deckard's Voice module, which is kind of like a full voice of the Yamaha's CS-80. On top of that, all of the typing and machinery and percussion elements were MIDI'd in my DAW, and then through Intellijel's uMIDI module, I sent all that data to Mutable Instruments Elements. All of the noise and resonant filter spikes were made using the ARP Odyssey, all the bass and bass textures were made on the Moog Subsequent 37CV, and all the chords are created on the Roland Juno 60's Patch number 17.

Some extra elements were also created on various other interactions on the eurorack modules, especially the granular engine of Mutable Instruments Clouds and the mix output on the Deckard's Voice. Most effects were done in post, which included various instances of Valhalla Shimmer, and Valhalla Supermassive for Delay. The only element that I kept from the original recording was the voice at the beginning, and I was able to achieve it by isolating it from the rest of the original track, using the iZotope RX8.

Ultrawave vs B3K vs LT Metal on DB-01 synth (no talking)

video upload by Richard DeHove

"A comparison of three drivey-distortiony pedals on a single pattern from the DB-01: the Source Audio Ultrawave; the Blackstar LT Metal; and the Darkglass B3K.
The synth pattern includes a few low pitch-mod thumps and it's interesting to note the changes in bass. I tried to keep the pedal sounds similar to get a good idea of the particular 'flavor' of the drives.
Of course the Ultrawave is capable of all sorts of extra goodness (full demo soon) but I thought it at least needed a bit of a stereo field considering full stereo is one of its main features. One slightly odd thing about the Ultrawave is that it won't work properly when placed after either of the other drives which is why I replug halfway through.
Happily, all three pedals take line level extremely well.

3:18 Blackstar LT Metal
5:50 Darkglass B3K

Fender Rhodes Chroma Polaris SN 302332

"This Chroma Polaris is 100% functional and in A- cosmetic condition.

It has been professionally tested and serviced, and quite a beautiful-sounding analog instrument, unlike anything made today. Also, it is MIDI ready for studio/DAW integration and plays nicely with modern setups despite its status as a modern classic.

The Chroma Polaris was the 2nd synthesizer made by CBS/Fender/Rhodes after they took over ARP, following their classic Rhodes Chroma. It has a very ARP-like sound.

It has some interesting tricks up its sleeve: like 2 envelopes, including a 5 stage ADSDR filter envelope, aftertouch support (via external controller), and true multitimbral capability, with sounds that can be layered up to 6 voices. It also has a simple real-time sequencer and 132 memory patches."

Elektron Sidstation SN F10100822-81

"Now the technical stuff: My Sidstation used to work perfectly. When I dug it out recently, all the lights lit up but there were black boxes across the screen and it didn’t boot up. Digging on the Web, I identified what the problem could be and replaced the NVRAM chip, which is the battery. (I can supply the receipt and even the old chip if you want) Now, when I turn it on, and leave it on for a few minutes, it will go to the boot screen but still not as fast as it should. It can load a patch bank and play sounds. And yes, like all Sidstations, it's noisy!"

"I was checking the H9 in my system late at night, trying to remove the huge digital noise it produces and (as usual) I ended up jamming!
The beat is a loop coming from Kesako 'Player & Reverb' module.
The delay comes from Scrotum Lab 'Espace temps'.

Kesako Player on 'Player & Reverb' is an extended version of Music Thing 'Radio Music' and the top part of Scrotum Lab 'Espace temps' module is an conversion/adaptation of Boss DD-5 delay pedal where I added CV control."
