"The update is free for all the ARCANE owners. You just download the .hex and flash it into a brand new Arduino nano and you are ready to rock it

If you dont know how to flash arduinos or dont have time for it, I have preflashed ones in my Etsy and Tindie stores

Whats new:
-Base Reg pot doesnt have a glitchy zone. You can pretty much dial now in the whole travel and get nice sounds -Intensity pot now goes way more intense and dramatic that before
-Sequence is totally new. It dampens parts of the operators. At max it does not damp nothing. From minimu to 12AM it centers in sub basses zones, from 12 to max, it enhances percussions instruments

Dispersion, tempo and Combination keep working the same

Left button toggles on/off drum parts
Right button toggles on/off high piched instruments

In general, all the ranges have been ampliated, the results are more musical/percussive and pretty much every pot does something good sounding, most of the time!

Threat this update as a beta, as I have still ideas to implement and maybe Im updating it again in a few days, so better just update if you have an arduino at hand and know how to flash it"

It was always on my list to make a cover of this classic electronic tune that was and still is one of my biggest inspirations in electronic music. I used all of my keyboard synthesizers for this one to try and replicate Jean-Michel Jarre's incredible vintage synthesizer collection.
For this project, I used the following:
- Roland Juno 60 (chords/background)
- ARP Odyssey (noise, lasers, lead line)
- Moog Subsequent 37 CV (Various bass elements via MIDI)
- Eurorack Modular for some small parts and minor elements

Also, Happy Birthday to my dad, who is the one that showed me Jean-Michel Jarre's biggest hits album close to 15 years ago, and unknowingly planted that electronic music passion in me. I decided to make this cover for his birthday today."

Vintage Oberheim OB-8 Synthesizer w/ Aftertouch Mod, Break Out Box & More

"This is a premiere example of a vintage Oberheim OB-8 synthesizer. It is cosmetically and functionally in great condition, and features a few custom mods that you will not find on any other vintage Oberheims for sale. It also comes with the original owner's manual, a super heavy-duty custom transport case, and a custom dust cover. I will list all of the details below:

Modifications (Please check out demo video I have attached to this listing):

This OB-8 has had some truly one-of-a-kind modifications done to it. They were done by the previous owner in between 2013-2016, but fortunately he gave me some of the original receipts for the work, which was done by two well established companies at the time -"Retro Linear" and "New England Analog". For all of the purists out there who cringe at the sight of any mods being done to a classic synth like this, this may not be the synth for you... but I personally found that these mods take the playing experience of this OB-8 to another level.

The first mod done was replacing the original keys with a Fatar keybed. This keybed plays extremely smoothly and effectively - it is quite easy to do runs up and down, and the keys are also not clicky and operate quietly.

On top of this, a very unique mod called "Pyxis Aftertouch" was installed which adds aftertouch to the fatar keybed! This aftertouch is routed to a very ingenious system that plugs into the back of the OB-8 via two small jacks. The system allows you to control various parameters of the aftertouch such as LFO speed & wave shape, filter cutoff, VCA settings like volume or tremolo, & more. This aftertouch system has a main module with knobs/switches for adjusting these parameters, and there is also a second touchpad module you can use to trigger these parameters. I showed examples of using this aftertouch mod in the demo video I included in this listing. You can see me using the aftertouch to trigger an increase in LFO speed/intensity at 0:21 and 0:55. At around 2:10 I demonstrate the aftertouch in combination with the portamento (which is an amazing feature of the OB-8). It can get a little wild sounding (2:12) if the portamento is a slow build ! At around 3:00, I use the touchpad module, which does the same thing as the keyboard aftertouch.

"I started off this patch with some chords coming from the 4MS EnsOsc. Everything is sequenced and clocked by a couple of looping envelopes from Maths. I added a random (in scale) bassline, an arp (sequenced with Moskwa 2) and some vocal sounds (processed through an ADDAC 601). I'm using Orbit 3 and Filter 8 for modulation. Step 8, Soundforce DUAL LFO and Mimetic Digitalis are used for additional randomness. Herzlich Labs OMEN is 'pinging' LFOs used to modulate the sound of the chords. I used a lot of filters to shape the sounds so they don't clash too much. Cosmix Pro is handling most of the mix and I'm using the CV inputs on the stereo channels to create some extra stereo movement."
