"Today I wanted to test a completely new setup, more compact. I said goodbye to my favorite midi controller. I decided to use uniquely the synths performance capability.
I took out the Volca Sample 2 that I never managed to use .. until now 😁
The "step jump" function of the volca sample is really interesting in a live context ! it allows you to make original transitions..

Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, chords progression
Volca sample 2: Drums
Volca Bass: main melody
Korg NTS-1: reverb, chorus, build up with the noise oscillator and outro melody (with FM oscillator)

This jam was performed and recorded live to a stereo output.
I edited the mix in Ableton, by adding EQ and compression."

"We travel the length of San Francisco from the southern neighborhoods to the northern edge along the Bay. The ride starts on the San Jose Avenue expressway into the Mission District where we follow Guerrero Street to its northern end on Market Street. After crossing Market, we continue north on Laguna through Hayes Valley, the Western Addition, Japantown, over the hill in Pacific Heights, and down into the Marina District. At the end of Laguna, we wind our way through main streets of the Marina to arrive at the Presidio of San Francisco within sight of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I've now had a good few hours with it so here are my first 5 single timbre presets. So far I have only been using the Subtractive, Additive and FM engines. I will explore the other engines in due course and and put together some sessions. (multi-layer performances)

Although I found it slightly confusing at the start the interface is actually very logical and easy to get around. I'm really looking forward to delving deeper into this excellent synth.

Ich kam neben ELP auch über Wendy Carlos zum Moog und träumte immer davon so ein Wunderwerk an Elektronik zu besitzen. Nun, heute habe ich die Smartphone-App vom Moog, die ähnliches leistet, aber natürlich nicht an die Faszination des Moog herankommt. Im Deutschen Museum München traf ich auf den ersten Moog, der in Deutschland gespielt wurde. Er wurde von Eberhard Schoener gestiftet."

This appears to be the first post to feature pics of the Soundart Chameleon. It was mentioned a couple of times in posts featuring Paula Maddox of Modal Electronics and vacaloco's Gorf development in 2008. See the Soundart label for more. Note there is also an unrelated Chameleon branded self contained modular synth.

"A rare synth/vocoder/fx processor in very good condition. There is a little rack rash and the top has some scratches (see pictures for details). It works perfectly and sounds awesome. The Soundart Chameleon is an amazing addition to your studio. It can host a legendary vocoder called Infiltrator (check out what gearspace says about Infiltrator) and some awesome synths---the best one being Austrailis. "This is a super cool handmade experimental noise synth, and the craftsmanship really shows. I've been pining for one for a while but in the end it just isn't the best fit for the music I make, so I'm moving it on. It's hand-built using a wooden craft box and epoxy resin with interesting pulsating LED lighting and feedback/filter controls. It's also got a mode switch that alters elements of the overall sound, and the touch-sensitive metal contacts allow you to essentially play it like an instrument, as the sound changes and responds to your touch.

Here's how the builder describes it:

'Explore the sonic ether with this experimental sound machine this Phantom Cell. Channel all metaphysical frequencies with the Phantom Summoner. Touch the metal contacts to become part of the cosmic circuit. Special components are sensors to extra dimensions of the unseen and unheard. Enjoy making new and glorious sounds as you experience new frequencies and vibrations. Has built in echo/reverb circuit that can go from a metallic reverb sound to total noise chaos. There is a feed back knob for infinite feedback to a lowpass filter. I added a switch that changes the output mode turning on and of additional circuits.'"

"I had a second long session with the 296T after my first patch video. This video tries to justify why the 296T could be worth the big footprint so it can be more than 'just a big equalizer'. This always depends on the type of music you'd like to make on a modular, and for many, a multimode filter would be more than enough. The 296T is like a surgical audio tool, doubling as an EQ or filter. In this video, I'll use the brutal Manis Iteritas as a source and use both the attennuated & program outputs to sculpt something new from it. It's a very rich voice with artifacts and noise because of the 6-operator sawtooth algorithms and it does not have many sweetspots outside it's heavy industry character. The 296T is an ideal tool to help you tame it for different applications and sounds, even ambient.
Also, there's true magic in the technique of 'selective FM', where you can use indivdual band outputs to 'FM' your VCO. It's a trick I've learned with the MakeNoise FxDf fixed filter. The 296T can take it to another level.

"The PERfourMER MKII is sequenced by a meloDICER directly via MIDI through the MEX3 module. With MEX3 the meloDICER can create sequences with up to three voices.

The Floatingpoints Instruments (formerly @ERMErfindungsbuero) Multiclock is used as a MIDI controller for the additional REST parameters of voices two and three as well as for controlling velocity and ACCENT probability.

The @OTOMACHINES BIM is the only effect used in this performance.
