OB-XOne mkII - Oberhim OBX Expander Module in Custom Rack
video upload by Lackan
"My first version of the OBXone went on to save an Original 4VS OBX. But when I got a Rosen motherboard as part of a trade I thought I'd make a nicer one, 2U rackmount, with double sub oscillators and all the extras."
Looks like an SEM in rack form, but appears to be based an OBX voice board according to the description above. The OB-X filter is based on the 12db Lowpass disctrete SEM filter (it's missing the variable LP -> Notch -> HP knob), while the OB-Xa switched to Curtis based filters.

Cinematic intergalactic - live synth performance with Prophet Rev2, Walrus Qi, piano, strings
video upload by Jay Hosking
"Here, I used the 5-pin MIDI out of the M-Audio Keystation 61 Mk3 to control the Sequential Prophet Rev2, and used the Keystation's USB MIDI out to control a number of plug-ins at the same time. What you're hearing here is a single MIDI line that's being split to multiple instruments that get layered on top of each other. I'm really happy with the final result.
This song was inspired by exploring the Walrus Qi Etherealizer, which is adding granular, reverb, and delay to the Prophet Rev2. Once I had the basic idea on the Rev2, I realized that I could use the Keystation's USB MIDI out to control software instruments at the same time. Mostly what you're hearing are a collection of Spitfire plug-ins (piano, strings, mandolin) being stacked on top of the Rev2, using the same live MIDI data that I'm sending to the Rev2. It's a neat effect.
Thanks for listening.

One of my favorite tracks from the late 70s. I was 7 years old when this song came out.
We Don`t Talk Anymore by Cliff Richard from the album Rock ’n’ Roll Juvenile (1979)
Written by Alan Tarney and produced by the Shadows' guitarist Bruce Welch.
Featured the Oberheim OB-X Synthesizer and Yamaha Reface CP for the Rhodes sound
This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers."

"Oberheim DSX sequencer in excellent condition. Includes original owners manual and power cable. Professionally serviced in house. Unit tested and confirmed to function.
The Oberheim DSX is a pre-MIDI digital polyphonic sequencer. It operates using a proprietary parallel bus and was designed for use with the OB-X, OB-SX, OB-Xa and OB-8. Connection was via a heavy 1:1 cable, which plugged from the host DSX to the target synthesizer using a rear DB-37 connector. The DSX is capable of driving up to 16 voices concurrently. Sequences are stored in internal memory after power-off using static RAM which remains powered up from an internal NiCad battery.
The combination of Oberheim DSX, Oberheim DMX and either OB-8 or OB-Xa were marketed as the 'Oberheim System'."

"Like a small handful of other sample based drum machines of the mid 1980s, the Roland TR-707 is a punchy beatbox which still has a home in an electronic musician's toolkit. The sounds all sit wonderfully in a mix to this day, and the individual outputs make this a great machine for the most particular of producers.
This example of the 707 is in great shape, fully functional, and comes with the original manuals and power supply."

Pole Dancer analog filter: Zoxnoxious synthesizer voice card demo
video upload by Ultratroninator 3000
"Here's a demo of the Pole Dancer filter, the latest voice card for the Zoxnoxious synthesizer. The Zoxnoxious synth is a VCV Rack controlled hardware synth with a modular voice card architecture. The Pole Dancer earns its name with its unique pole mixing filter functions. Able to take on many different filter modes and morphing between "Personality" filter modes. The Pole Dancer and the Personality module give the VCV Rack user full control over the filter mix levels for pole mixing.
The demo shows the details on the Pole Dancer's VCV Rack module. Also shown is a few ways on how one could use VCV Rack to morph and sequence filter modes. The video ends with detail on how effective the Pole Dancer is on taking on complex filter modes.
The Expedition Electronics webpage used in the demo to show various filter modes is here: https://rnd.expeditionelectronics.com...
I'm hoping to get the voice cards and Zoxnoxious synth available sometime soon. I'm still looking into how best to do that. It's all open source with schematics, Raspberry Pi, and VCV Rack stuff all on Github: https://github.com/brer-rabbit/zoxnox...

Jam session 07: Compose mode
video upload by Kiviak Instruments
"In this session is shown some variations using the PAD's compose mode.
The Nord micro modular is driven by the WoFi, and fed in the input line.
Mixing cue points, note changes, solo notes and sequence leads the Nord UM to its limits, while the WoFis adds grain and controls sequence.
Advanced usage of the sequencer is shown there:
1:11 Tune the pitch of one or several steps
1:23 Tune reference note
1:30 Set start an stop step in the sequence
1:37 Use compose mode to set new sequences
2:16 Change the ref not causes the UM to stumble in its monophony...
2:38 Play a step outside the sequence
2:48 Holding down a PADs force the step to loop
4:43 Solo mode activated
4:54 Add secondary rythm using the drum thanks to solo mode
5:02 Lock the new rythm
5:26 Unlock all locked notes"

CREATOY TRAIN

"I found these two on Ebay in early November of 2024. They are somewhat generic looking train keyboards by the brand Creatoy from 1995. Many toys made by Creatoy from this era, and similar toys like them have a special place for me. As a child of the late eighties and early nineties, I would see a lot of these lesser known toys at friends' houses, and school growing up. At the time, it seemed like there was no shortage of these off-brand obnoxious toys everywhere. Now they seem to be harder to find. When I have a little extra cash, I love to scour Ebay for these types of forgotten relics."
