Oberheim TEO-5 Synthesizer making sounds

7/31/25 EML 200 + Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine + SSL 1600 + acRLS

video upload by Cfpp0

"7/31/25 ElectroComp EML 200 + Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine + Synthetic Sound Labs 1600 + Analog Craftsman acRLS

It was inevitable. The Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine is now in the 6U rack on top of the ElectroComp EML 200 stack. Just to the right of the Metasonix TM-1, TM-1 SE, TM-5, TM-2, TM-7, and Zerosum Inertia Cenotaph. We’ve tried to find a TM-6 to add to the racks for several years now, but to no avail, so why not just put the S-1000 here? Duh. This was a test video, with the EML 200 square wave driving the Synthetic Sound Labs 1600 clock divider, which triggers the S-1000 and drives the EML 200 envelope and the Analog Craftsman acRLS shift register thing, which modulates the S-1000 oscillators, pulser, and filter. Both signals get spring reverb from the EML 200. Sounds like creatures to me."

COMMERCIAL BREAK - Some adverts for Memetune-related goodies, including the Memetune Annual 2024, the range of Memetune merchandise and Benge's FORMS series of single-synth albums

PATCHING TODAY - on the incredible ARP 2500, which I bought exactly 20 years ago this month

VIDEO LAB - In this episode we take a closer look at the Grass Valley Indigo AV Mixer, which is the central hub of the Video Lab, and provides many more ways of getting that genuinely vintage look to the Memetune video productions, in particular using its memory recall system which allows you to program complex time-based actions

Getting glitchy with Pattern Mutate on Circuit Tracks

video upload by Novation

"In this video, Dylan takes you inside a spontaneous session on Circuit Tracks, starting with a simple melodic phrase and building it into a full groove with drums, bass, and evolving textures. Along the way, he showcases Pattern Mutation, a creative tool for transforming loops into something fresh and expressive. It’s a hands-on look at how small ideas can grow into dynamic musical moments and be used for creating transitions, perfect for producers looking to break out of repetitive patterns and unlock new inspiration."

LFO/LFO (Circuit Tracks Version)

video upload by Guinan

"This week’s track is a version of the classic 1988 Warp records release ‘LFO’ by the UK Leeds band, LFO. Seen at the time as part of a genre then known as ‘bleep techno’ it was characterised by hard, uncompromising electronic minimalist industrial techno tracks such as this.

I’m hoping I’m not the only one who remembers and loves this track! If you like this try and find 'Testone/Sweet Exorcist' in a similar style - possibly one for a future cover too.

More details for synth nerds

I already had some ‘Speak & Spell’ samples I’d downloaded years ago so this was a great starting point. I had separate samples for the “L”, “F’ and “O” and I thought it would be fun to throw in one of the starting noises the toy makes when switched on. The same toy is featured on Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer World’ album so the sound will be a familiar one.

The main chord sequence comes from a Kawai K1 preset patch. Luckily there is a free fantastic software synth emulation of this keyboard available online so I was able to create a sample for the repeating chords. The emulator can be downloaded from the following page,
https://www.nilsschneider.de/wp/categ...
I’d encourage you to leave a donation for the author if you find this emulator useful.

All of these samples are sequenced alternately on the Drum 4 track.
There is a single repeating rhythm pattern using 909 samples played on Drum 1-3.
Synth 1 plays an FM-sounding bass patch, and Synth 2 is a representation of the staccato bleep sound (a small amount of pitch envelope helps recreate the original sound). Add lots of reverb and voila!"

Digitone 2 controlled by Launch Control XL 3 - Full one-take performance

video upload by Sineway

"All sounds in this live jam come from the Elektron Digitone II, controlled via the Novation Launch Control XL 3.

I mapped the Digitone’s modulation wheel macros to the Launch Control’s faders for real-time modulation.

This one-take performance is part of an ongoing setup I’ve been refining, and I’ll be doing a full walkthrough soon: MIDI mapping, sound design, and how this setup makes jamming feel effortless."

Inspired by cyberpunk ruins, rusted chrome, and neon-lit wastelands, this pack transforms Digitone’s FM engine into a rhythmic relic generator.

💎 Designed for producers who prefer clank over clap, and texture over purity.
Try out all presets on different octaves to unlock unexpected tonalities and rhythmic artifacts. Some patches shift character dramatically—what growls low might tick high.
Ideal for genres such as: Industrial Techno, EBM, Ambient, IDM, Glitch, Noise. Deconstructed Club.

Make sure you are using the latest Digitone II firmware.
💡 Compatible with Digitone 2 only. Not compatible with Digitone 1.

Official Demo - Microkorg 2 Soundset by Jexus

video upload by Jexus (sounds-for-synths.com)

"Thoughts & info: https://sounds-for-synths.com/korg-mi...

I did not use any external FX in the demo, no layers, no loopers, etc. All the delays and reverbs are part of the Microkorg-2 engine. My presets are single-timbre so you don’t lose your 8-voice polyphony. The presets come as computer files in “mk2prog” format. Just load them into the Microkorg-2 by using its flash drive feature (boot your Microkorg-2 in “disk mode”, and when it appears as a new disk drive you can just open / explore it and copy + paste the files). You will have the freedom to import my presets into Bank CLASSIC or MODERN or FUTURE or USER on your Microkorg 2."

"The Korg Trident is a polyphonic multi-section synthesizer released by Korg in 1980, combining three distinct synthesizers within a single instrument: a polyphonic section with two VCOs, alongside dedicated String and Brass sections.[1] The polyphonic synthesizer section allows for eight-note polyphony with dual oscillators. The String section offers an ensemble effect and simple attack/release envelope controls, whereas the Brass section features an independent filter and a dedicated ADSR envelope. These sections can be assigned to two different regions of the keyboard independently, and the Trident also offers a flanger effect along with a joystick for pitch bending and modulation."

DR-2 jam - using a polyclock on the BD

video upload by Modor Music

"A little jam on the Modor DR-2, using a 10:16 polyrhythmic clock on the kick and claps.
The kicks fall in most patterns on the 1st, 3rd and 4th step of a 5 step-pattern compressed into the time of 4 beats. The bottle ticking on top works as a regular 4/4 'metronome'.
Models used: String Bassdrum, Filter Claps, Hihat, Marching Snare, Bottle and Crash Cymbal.
The Marching Snare gets some random extra hits on top of the programmed pattern, for a constant little variation in the pattern."
