"This piece was created using the @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, a custom-built noise box, and a tape loop.
It is an ambient electronica composition built from piano sounds, everyday noises, and noise-infused synth pads.
On the Prophet-10, noise-tinged synth pads are performed while reverb is applied using the @strymon blueSky.
The noise box is connected to @ChaseBlissAudio LOST+FOUND, where delay and reverb are added.
The noise box itself includes springs, kalimba-like metal plates, and steel bars, which generate physical and metallic textures.
On the tape player, a one-minute endless tape contains a pre-recorded piano performance.
While the tape is playing, delay is applied using the @strymon TIMELINE. Toward the end of the piece, the delay feedback is increased to create a lingering resonance."

"The Leploop is an analog 'groove box', with two oscillator, a percussion voice, four independent sequencer tracks and pretty wild filter. Really it's all you need for a live techno set, but it has plenty of ins and outs to connect with other gizmos. Keeping it simple here, I have it clock synced to the Korg NTS-1 MKII, providing a ping-pong delay and some backing rhythm from the custom ROAT oscillator (thanks, @Tweeeeeak! ).
Recorded live on the Zoom L6, audio normalized in Audacity.

"Refurbished and purchased from Syntaur only a few years ago. All sounds are strong, faders and buttons work properly and the onboard analog spring reverb has a sweet vintage tone which adds to the old hollywood black & white cinematic sound of this synth. There is some natural oscillator aliasing (aka slop or smear) but this is part of the thick chorusing sound. Key bed feels great and the lamp in the power switch is solid."

Roland MKS-100 | The first Roland sampler module (and very few knows about it)

"The Roland MKS-100 from 1986. The Module version of the S-10 with a few minor differences, among them the Midi Mono mode. Sampling time and memory is the same on the S-10, MKS-100 and S-220 (the third and last sampling module in this early series)
Four memory slots (ABCD) with a total sampling time of 4,4 seconds at 30Khz. (8,8 sec @ 15Khz). The S-10, MKS-100 and S-220 all used the Quick Disk (QD) system to load and save sounds.

These are QD image files so you have to have a QD floppy emulator installed in your S-10 to use these.

I think the Roland 12-bit S-samplers from the 80s has a special sound to them. If you have a S-10/MKS-100/S-220 and you just want some new cool sounds for it then this pack might be for you. These sounds can not be found anywhere else. They're all made by me one way or the other."

"I love everything about this combo, from the colors to the subtle lo-fi nature of the sound (I am using the halved sample rate on the RMC).
I also like the Suiko for its limited sound palette and the fixed, exotic (to me) scales, which force me to find my way around them or within them or both.

I bought the Arturia AstroLab 37. It can make a huge variety of sounds, many of which aren't a part of my setups already. It sounds really good, as you might imagine. Being able to add piano, electric piano, mellotron, strings, etc. to my songs will allow me to expand the music I make on the table.
The biggest drawback is currently that there is such a large amount of presets I'll never touch on it. I need to basically delete all the presets off it and replace them with Arturia Collection sounds I like. But of course, that's a huge and daunting task.
Anyway, I really like what I was getting out of the AstroLab 37 and can imagine using it in a variety of setups. That said, sometimes what I imagine isn't what actually happens. I should let the future jams do the talking.

Making a sawtooth and sine from a triangle wave - converting waves the opposite way as usual .

After having made the 'classical' sine wave generator • Analog sine wave generator [video below] and the 'sort of digital' sine wave generator • Synthesizing waveforms with a frequency di... [posted here] a couple of months ago, I thought I should do a sine wave the third way - if not for other reasons it could be to say that I have done a sine wave trilogy: Start with a triangle and convert it to a sine wave.
This is a method that was often used commercially. If a function generator has both triangle and sine it is often made this way, and the XR2206 component that is often found on cheap tone generator kits works this way internally. I am not sure about the EMS VCS3 but I have a suspecion that OSCILLATOR 1 is also based on this idea as it can make saw and sine at the same time.
I do start with making a sawtooth wave though. I have not seen this method used before, but I doubt that I am the first to have done it.
The music is sort of a mood composition where I focused more on the mood and the sound construction than the melody, which is rather unusual for me as I consider myself a melody focused music tinkerer. Whatever it is I made it on my Roland D-20."
Analog sine wave generator

"I test run it at 4:15
After making that "somewhere in the swampy wasteland between analog and digital sine wave generator" last week, I decided to try and make a classical analog sine wave generator - just for the fun of it.
Sine wave generators are sort of an interesting thing: They are basically just an amplifier connected back to front through a filter, but the amplifier needs to be regulated in some way, otherwise the sinewave will get distorted to a point where it is often more a square wave.
This sine wave generator is not controllable from a keyboard like the other one I made, so it is more for modulation purposes or maybe if I one day take up the obscure art of musique concrete.
The musique ridicule that I play during the video is something I fumbled together playing my Korg Rhythm 55, Elka X-1000, and Roland D-20."
