LXR-02 gets Xeno'ed (no talk)
video upload by Richard DeHove
"In the last video I had the DB-01 going into the Nightverb reverb and then into the Xenodrive. This time it's a more conventional routing of the LXR-02 into the Xenodrive and then into the Nightverb. With the Nightverb early reflections, a little pre-delay and a careful amount of shape,it sudden;y came together. I was setting up for a completely different video idea but just had to capture this instead.
It's not all happy accidents though. First I tried Echolocator feedback into the Xeno and then Nightverb. Mildly interesting but even the Xeno couldn't rip the Echo feedback apart. And that's how it goes sometimes - you set everything up, twiddle up to 11 and you draw a blank. Sometimes I'll chew on it for days before admitting it was a rotten idea. I wasted the best part of two weeks recently on a looper pedal I bought and just couldn't get a single thing out of it. So sometimes when I don't post a video for a couple of weeks it's not because I'm too busy with cocktails and cigars, it's because my latest great idea just didn't produce anything worth your time.
Hopefully you'll agree that this little experiment with the LXR-02 was worthwhile. The LXR-02 remains one of my favorite machines. It has its flaws and is still desperately in need of another firmware update but I think it's a brilliant machine. Six assignable LFOs and multiple filters, deep editing and a tiny footprint: So much to love.
If this were a final production drum track I would definitely add a deep and clean bass drum from Hexdrums, but as usual I like to keep things well defined. Adding an external bassdrum would sound better but then you wouldn't be hearing pure LXR-02 / Xeno / Nightverb. My aim is to show you possibilities.
Many thanks to my kind patrons who keep this channel ad-free

"This is a montage of several tests of the second STG soundlabs Oscillator we recently picked up, sequenced by the Synthetic Sound Labs 1660 The Matrix Algorithmic Composer. The STG saw output is panned center, with the triangle output panned left, through the Zerosum Inertia Scorpion Tail. Eventually the STG square output is controlling the Zerosum 6550-99 thyratron oscillator."

About the Radio Show:
With a strong accent on the raw, the rockin’, the weird, and the obscure, Go Go Kitty is a surprise-filled two-hour trawl through the moldy and mysterious vinyl vault, shellac silo, and digital crypt of hopelessly obsessive musicologist and record junkie Peter Aaron.
About the Peter Aaron:
Peter Aaron is an award-winning journalist who has authored several books on music and has served as the music/arts editor of Chronogram Magazine since 2006. His writing has appeared in the Village Voice, the Boston Herald, and other publications, and online at AllMusic and All About Jazz. He lives in the Hudson Valley.
About Dina Pearlman-Ifil
Dina is the only child of Alan and Buena Pearlman and grew up with ARP Synthesizers as a backdrop for her childhood, traveling extensively and being exposed to innovative and cutting edge technology. In her early years she spent time playing in rock and roll bands, as well as dance and theater. For the past thirty years she has worked as a versatile visual arts and design professional, creative director, and educator. She has also worked extensively in photography, graphic and web design for several decades, and has a broad understanding of visual communications media.
In the last few years before his illness, Alan Pearlman started to re-examine the brave new world of synthesizers that exists today, many decades after his iconic and groundbreaking 12 years as the inventor and founder of ARP Synthesizers. During this time, he brought his daughter into the conversation. After his death in January 2019, Dina realized that the need of keeping his legacy and passion alive, and with the help and encouragement of many of his former colleagues as well as the wonderful Michelle Moog-Koussa, she started the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation and ARP Archives."

An Interview with Marcus Ryle: Inventor, Visionary, Entrepreneur
video upload by FerroCity
"Would you believe me if I told you I knew a guy who quit school at 16 and went to work in the Caltech Music Lab. At 18 was handpicked by Tom Oberheim, founder of a leading and pioneering synthesizer manufacturer of the same name, Oberhiem. This “kid” went on to help design Oberheim’s OBXa, then Oberheim’s first sequencer and drum machine.
From there he cofounded a design company that built the first electric drum pads for Dyna Cord. The first affordable sequencer, drum kit and digital tape recorded, ADAT, produced by Alesis.
WANT more! That design company grew into the legendary first guitar amp with digital sound modeling, Line Six Amps and effects pedals.
In this episode Marcus Riley shares not only the secrets of his accomplishments but what you need to know to drive you to accomplish your dreams."

First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 6: Random Generator
video upload by OXI Instruments
All parts
"In Episode 6 , we explore one of the most powerful creative tools inside the sequencer: Random Generator.
Random doesn’t mean chaos.
It means inspiration.
In this video, I’ll show you how to generate unexpected yet deeply musical patterns in MONO, POLY, and CHORD modes — and how to control every parameter so the results always stay intentional.
We’ll cover:
• How to access Random Generator
• Understanding Bias, Scale, Range, Rand, V&G, Ties, and Density
• Using Humanize, Order, Pitch, and Flip creatively
• Turning raw randomness into refined musical ideas
The goal is simple: give you a spark.
This is Episode 6 of First Steps with OXI One MKII series — a structured deep dive into mastering your sequencer from foundation to advanced workflow.
If you’re building a hardware-centered studio like I am, this one will unlock serious creative momentum.

Waldorf Protein in the hands of a beginner makes "Bang!"
video upload by Nicolai
"I just bought the Waldorf Protein. They said it is their entry level, so I unboxed it, did a test drive, created some own patches and guess what: "Bang!" a tight techno track was born.
🎧 Original "Bang!" track (the one born from frustration): [below]
It is a lovely wavetable synth: portable (fits my setup perfectly), flexible and most importantly: accessible! Sure, there are menus and a shift button for deeper tweaks, but most of the time you just coast on the sound, dialing it in directly with the tons of hands-on knobs. How cool is that?
Watch the full video: unboxing, preset demos and evolution, honest critique, Nicolai patch building which lead to the 'Bang!' track."
So this happened… Pulsar 23 + Pulsar 23
video upload by Conatus Modulari
"Not what I expected nor intended, but somehow this 80ish jam happened… There's some good sounds going on, though slightly out of my comfort zone here. Uploaded it because it's all because I like playing around, next time will be a bit darker (or will it… ?).
I definitely need to dive into this Pulsar 46 thing on my desk."
And a massive playlist starting with the above at the time of this post. Use the player controls to skip around.

"Trails is now available for pre-order only on our shop: https://shop.bela.io/products/trails
Trails is a four-channel touch recorder for Eurorack that captures finger movement as musical structure. Melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and control elements can be composed simultaneously through gesture and shape, then transformed in space and time to create evolving contrapuntal and polyrhythmic relationships.
With both CV and MIDI output, Trails can sit at the centre of a modular system while also controlling hardware and software instruments. Gestures can be stored across scenes, recalled in performance, and used either as smooth continuous signals or quantised musical material.

LIGHTREFT x ELEKTRON [CONCRETE TEST]
video upload by Sasha DZA
"We are currently deep in the testing phase of Concrete, fine-tuning exact parameter values and exploring multiple configurations to achieve a balanced yet powerful sound. One of its primary roles is to act as a master device in a live setup.
In the current test routing, Monolit sequences tracks over MIDI in the Octatrack. The audio from the Octatrack goes directly into Concrete, and from there a second output feeds the main master signal to the speakers.
We will be sharing more test sessions soon, where you will be able to hear different drive engines we have been developing, as well as several additional features that were not part of the original announcement but emerged during the development process."
