1. Practice session | Moog DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth
I’ve been too busy recently to come up with any music this weekend, so I only had a moment for a short practice session. I wasn't sure at first, but yeah... I’m uploading this just to show my process of searching for something meaningful. Sometimes you just need to sit down at your synthesizers, tweak some knobs, and even if nothing mindblowing comes out right away, it pays off in the long run. In the end, it always turns out to be worth it.

Maybe someone will find this video interesting! Cheers! 🤘🏻

SΞQMØDΞ Behringer Sessions

video uploads by SΞQMØDΞ

Playlist:

1. Behringer 2600 Gray Meanie meets Moog Sound Studio (DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth) | First Jam
Lately I picked up another synth... yeah, GAS hits hard 😅 My first jam with the Gray Meanie! I still remember loading up Arturia's ARP 2600 emulation years ago and thinking, "what is this shit?" I didn't understand anything back then. I gave up on it pretty quickly and forgot all about it. Later, I found out through deadmau5's MasterClass that it was the synth behind R2-D2's voice, which got me interested again... but only for a while.

Fast forward to now, I finally bought one and decided it's time to actually learn it. I think it'll be a great addition to my semi-modular setup. I'm really enjoying it so far! Behringer did a solid job with this one: the leds looks great, feels really well built, and works really well with my korg sequencer.

Anyway... hope you find this little noodling session interesting! 🤘🏻
2. Trying to make the Behringer 2600 work with my Moog Sound Studio | Jam
Just a quick jam exploring this Behringer/Moog setup and seeing if they actually complement each other.

A lot of people say Behringer synths just don't belong next to Moogs... so yeah, I'm doing my best to make it work. :D

Hope you enjoy! 🤘🏻
3. Behringer 2600, KORG SQ-64, Moog Sound Studio (DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth) | Synth Jam
Another quick jam using the Grey Meanie alongside the Moog Sound Studio. Hope you find it interesting! :D

btw, I’ve been struggling with free time lately, so you might’ve noticed I'm behind on comments.. But I'll catch up step by step! And of course, I’ll be checking out your jams too! Cheers, friends! 🤘🏻
4. Behringer 2600 Gray Meanie | Noodling Session
Gray Meanie stuff... I really need to learn this synth, feeling quite lost while jamming, so yeah... This isn't even a jam, it's just a noodling session, trying things out with the Korg SQ-64...

Hope you find it interesting!
5. Paraphonic mode on Behringer 2600 | Noodling Session
First time using the 2600 in duo mode. I used the Arturia MicroBrute strictly as a keyboard controller, there's no sound coming from it here. The whole thing is just a raw jam with a many mistakes, but I was having a blast. I really love how the 2600 sounds as a paraphonic synth and I was completely lost in the zone while noodling...

Hope you find it interesting!

Dark Vintage Roland Synths with SciFi video - by Benge

video upload by Memetune Studio

"zackdagoba.bandcamp.com/album/the-evolving-riddle-volume-two

Fifth and final video for another track from my new album, but I will be compiling them into a longer video soon so they are all in one place

This track is made on a vintage Roland SH5 (with special modular breakout-box), plus a modified Roland System 100. These are the best sounding Rolands ever made in my opinion - stuffed full of beautiful discrete early '70s circuits, before they started making their own proprietary sound chips. I also used a series of looper modules to construct the music in real time

You can watch the original performance here:
• Roland Ocean (Rocean) [posted here]

This video pays homage to yet another of my favourite science fiction illustrators Chris Foss, a British artist who, along with others in this series, worked on designs for the original Alien movie, as well as, amazingly, the spacecraft in Guardians of the Galaxy. He also designed loads of classic sci-fi book covers and art, even though he never read much sci-fi as apparently he didn't like it as a genre!

I have tried to bring his work to life in my own way by putting some of his images through the Memetune VideoLab. For more info about how I work in the VideoLab, check out my Memetune Programme series which ends each episode with a special VideoLab section where I go through the various processes I use (there are 18 episodes in total)

Enjoy!"

Huge Synth Sounds with Just 1 Oscillator

video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music

"A huge synth sound doesn’t always mean more oscillators.

In this video, I’ll show you how to get more size, character and impact from just ONE oscillator before you start stacking additional ones. By understanding how to shape and bring out what’s already there, you can create sounds that feel bigger while keeping them clear, focused and musical.

Sometimes the answer isn’t adding more it’s getting more out of what you already have.

If you want to go deeper into building powerful synth sounds from the ground up, check out Bass DNA."

This one was spotted and sent in via

"Ultra rare Sequential Prophet 3000 sampler, serial number 0016 of only 252 units ever made, maybe a prototype.

In very good aesthetic shape.

Includes detachable screen, original Wine Country spare cable phone like connector
Original box with original blue foams with vintage stamps
Original 15 Sequential sample diskettes (maybe valued in 300 euros or more)
Extra diagnose diskette
The detachable screen works and shows the logo and the options, it loads but nothing sounds, my tech recapped, used the Wine Country survival kit we bought (bill included) but he lacked of the skills to fix it, and I do not know any with enough expertise, so I am selling as it for any who wants to have this rare piece of Sequential history.

Totally complete, any chip, board, piece is missed but the easy to get rack ears.
No returns, no warranty, sold as is."

Cosmetically - Nothing is ever mint in my opinion and this one is no exception. Please check out the photos. The original sliders on these are always stress-cracked so they were replaced with Arp Odyssey style caps.

Internally - Apart from any repairs, it's been completely disassembled and cleaned, all sliders taken apart, cleaned/relubed, and have new slider shafts, the power supply and all other electrolytic capacitors replaced, the keyboard cleaned & rebuilt with new bushings, and it's been fully calibrated. ***This might be updated***"

Update: press release follows:

This Eurorack filter has AUTO DYNAMICS! // Flow 3 from Joranalogue *MEGA DEMO*

video upload by DivKid and Joranalogue Audio Design

"As we'd expect from Joranalogue, they take inspiration from classic, seemingly simple functions and turn them into musical and technically impressive devices. Flow 3 is a compact filter that builds upon on the idea of an auto wah, it's a filter with 'auto dynamics'. There's on board modulation, that can modulate itself or your modular system, stave variable filter outputs, CV over everything and an easy to play with layout in 6HP."

Update: Press release follows:

Joranalogue Audio Design announces availability of Flow 3 auto-dynamic filter module for Eurorack that sounds bigger than it looks

STEKENE, BELGIUM: having made its impressive-sounding debut during a showcase at SUPERBOOTH26, May 7-9, FEZ-Berlin, Germany, high-quality Eurorack music synthesiser modules-maker Joranalogue Audio Design is proud to announce availability of Flow 3 — an auto-dynamic filter that sounds bigger than it looks, thanks to the novel variation on the classic state variable filter topology that lies behind its compact 6 HP panel — as of August 25…

Firstly, Flow 3’s core integrator saturation of its simultaneous — low-pass (LP2), attenuates frequencies above the filter frequency (or cutoff) at -12 dB/octave and self-oscillates at a phase of 180°; bandpass (BP2), selects a band of frequencies around the filter frequency (but below and above that the attenuation slope is -6 dB) and self-oscillates at a phase of 90°; and high-pass (HP2), attenuates frequencies below the filter frequency at -12 dB/octave and self-oscillates at a phase of 0° — outputs provide for a sound that is clean yet distinctive.

RESONANCE response is exceptionally smooth — it, too, can easily reach self-oscillation (at higher feedback levels), the temperature compensation and exact calibration effectively transforming Flow 3 into a reliable quadrature sine/cosine VCO (Voltage-Controlled Oscillator) with tight pitch tracking.

The ace up Flow 3’s sleeve, however, lies in its auto-dynamic nature — helpfully highlighted by the non-erasable AUTO DYNAMIC FILTER graphic positioned across that compact, clean-cut 6 HP panel. After all, it is a filter that can modulate itself, achieved by a combined DECAY generator/envelope follower circuit controlling the filter frequency over an adjustable range; either fire decay envelopes from external triggers, or flip it to AUTO mode to follow along with the incoming signal’s amplitude envelope (or both, simultaneously).

Saying all that, then, creating heavy-hitting analogue kick drum sounds becomes a breeze, but, with a bit of patching, Flow 3 can even be used as a spectrum splitter (or crossover), cleanly separating the full audio range into low and high portions, for dual-band signal processing — perfectly possible thanks to the Linkwitz-Riley filter response at minimum resonance.

Ultimately, users of Flow 3 can clearly get carried away as the Eurorack module concerned creatively takes the old auto-filter concept to new voltage-controlled heights, hearing for themselves exactly what the fuss was all about at that impressive-sounding SUPERBOOTH26 showcase!

Coming complete with a 16-to-10-pin Eurorack power cable, two black M3 x 6 mm hex screws, two black nylon washers, and a hex key, Flow 3 is available as a 6 HP module — measuring 128.5 mm (H) x 30 mm (W) x 52 mm (D) with a +12 V: 45 mA/-12 V: 45 mA maximum current draw, reverse polarity (MOSFET) power protection, 100 kΩ impedance inputs and 0 Ω (compensated) impedance outputs — through Joranalogue Audio Design’s growing global network of authorised dealers at a MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of €215.00 EUR or $225.00 USD.

The Synth Yamaha Wants You to Forget | The V50

video upload by Espen Kraft

"My sound patches: https://espenkraft.com
In 1989, while Korg's M1 and the sampling boom were rewriting the charts, Yamaha reached into the parts bin and handed us the V50 — a 4-operator FM workstation synth almost nobody asked for.

The V50 wrapped Yamaha's 4-operator FM engine (the same one in the DX11 and TX81Z) in a full workstation shell: an 8-track sequencer, a PCM drum machine, dual digital effects and a built-in floppy drive. On paper, a tidy package. In practice, in a year that wanted fat organs, realistic pianos and new dance sounds, it landed as a warmed-over fossil. I disliked it then, and I dislike it now — but I'll show you what it can and can't do.

All effects in the video are from the V50 internally. No external processing.

Yamaha V50 — key specs:

Released 1989
4-operator, 8-algorithm, 8-waveform FM synthesis (DX11 / TX81Z engine)
16-note polyphony, 8-part multitimbral
100 preset + 100 user voices
Built-in 8-track sequencer — 8 songs, 16,000 notes
PCM drum machine with 61 sampled drum sounds
Dual digital effects (reverb, delay, distortion)
3.5" floppy disk drive
61-key keyboard with velocity + aftertouch
US list price when new: ~$1,895

Free Korg MS2000 Editor Librarian | Web MIDI Patch Manager

video upload by Ian Dixon

"In this video I demonstrate my free browser-based Web MIDI editor and librarian for the Korg MS2000, built to make it easier to manage patches, audition sounds, load SysEx banks and edit programs in real time.

The MS2000 is a brilliant virtual analogue synth, but managing lots of patches from the front panel can be slow. This editor lets you enable Web MIDI, read the programs from the synth, save and reload larger patch libraries, load compatible MicroKorg SysEx banks, send sounds to the MS2000 without overwriting memory, tweak oscillator, filter, envelope, LFO, effects and motion sequencer settings, and try controlled randomisation for new happy-accident sounds.
