Modular Synth - WMD PDO & Synchrodyne - A Little Ditty I'm Working On

Published on Jun 7, 2017 isvisible / isinvisible

"Working on a little ditty with the WMD Phase Displacement Oscillator (PDO) and Synchrodyne.
The PDO is being routed direct from it's filter (Quad AFF) mix output into a rackmount ARP Omni Ensemble unit for stringish sounds.
The Synchrodyne (3 of it's outputs mixed together) is being routed through a ZVEX Instant Lo-Fi Junky and then out via an Intellijel Springray for organish sounds.

Bassdrum and snare from the Folktek Matter is being routed through a Mungo d0 which is being cv'd to create a bassline.

I think I'll be adding a few more bits and pieces to it, but thought it sounded quite nice for a simple patch."

FX Racks for Modular Synth Use in David Kronemyer's Sentience Studio

via David Kronemyer:

"We fully support repurposing guitar FX pedals for use with synths. For example, it now is common to find Eventides next to Moog 32's, and manufacturers like ZVex are transplanting their devices to Eurorack format. This makes sense, because there are a lot of additional colors and features they introduce, versus regular Eurorack FX modules. Impedance matching typically isn't a problem, and if it is, there are a lot of boxes to resolve it. Some time ago we took an assortment of ZVex, LGAL and other pedals we had that basically just were sitting around, and converted them for synth use. All of the inputs and outputs come up on the 1/4" patch bay at the bottom of each rack. Batteries have been removed, and all of the power connectors wired together for consistent, hum-free operation. We use combinations of these all the time in our various projects."

ZVex Instant Lo-fi Junky Eurorack module

Published on Sep 12, 2016 Leslie Rollins

"Demos are not my strong suit but as I got this a bit early and there is some curiosity built up around it I've tried to do my basic best. This is a simple drum loop taken from a Radio Music module. I try to make my finger movements on the knobs pretty obvious and also tried to keep my hand out of the way as best I could. This is only exploring manual knob and switch adjustments of the module. I might do one with CV manipulation from other modules if there's interest. If there's something you'd REALLY like to see feel free to let me know and I'll try to accommodate your request. I'm planning to do a similar video for the Fuzz Factory, and then probably a short one of both of them working at once to create magic.

Please recall, this is not my sweet spot. There's no real creativity in this. Yes I know the loop is boring. But I was trying to cover the basics so folks can get some sense of the pallette available. Cheers!"

Zvex Super Seek Wah

Published on Mar 4, 2014 bigcitymusic·306 videos

"Zvex pedals are typically used by guitarists, but we decided to see what the Super Seek Wah would sound like with a synthesizer instead.

The Zvex Super Seek Wah pedal has MIDI In (and MIDI Thru) which bypasses the internal Tap Tempo and allows for tempo synchronization to an external MIDI Clock!

A Cwejman D-LFO sawtooth wave has been routed through the Super Seek Wah whose sequencer is clocked via MIDI from a computer. The Cwejman D-LFO module's pitch is tracked via MIDI to CV from a Vermona qMi.

A Mellotron M4000D can be heard in the background.
