SΞQMØDΞ MOOG Sessions
video uploads by SΞQMØDΞ
Playlist:
1. Practice session | Moog DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth
I’ve been too busy recently to come up with any music this weekend, so I only had a moment for a short practice session. I wasn't sure at first, but yeah... I’m uploading this just to show my process of searching for something meaningful. Sometimes you just need to sit down at your synthesizers, tweak some knobs, and even if nothing mindblowing comes out right away, it pays off in the long run. In the end, it always turns out to be worth it.2. Moog Subsequent 25, DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth | Synth Jam

SΞQMØDΞ Behringer Sessions
video uploads by SΞQMØDΞ
Playlist:
1. Behringer 2600 Gray Meanie meets Moog Sound Studio (DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth) | First Jam
Lately I picked up another synth... yeah, GAS hits hard 😅 My first jam with the Gray Meanie! I still remember loading up Arturia's ARP 2600 emulation years ago and thinking, "what is this shit?" I didn't understand anything back then. I gave up on it pretty quickly and forgot all about it. Later, I found out through deadmau5's MasterClass that it was the synth behind R2-D2's voice, which got me interested again... but only for a while.2. Trying to make the Behringer 2600 work with my Moog Sound Studio | Jam
Fast forward to now, I finally bought one and decided it's time to actually learn it. I think it'll be a great addition to my semi-modular setup. I'm really enjoying it so far! Behringer did a solid job with this one: the leds looks great, feels really well built, and works really well with my korg sequencer.
Anyway... hope you find this little noodling session interesting! 🤘🏻
Just a quick jam exploring this Behringer/Moog setup and seeing if they actually complement each other.3. Behringer 2600, KORG SQ-64, Moog Sound Studio (DFAM, Subharmonicon, Labyrinth) | Synth Jam
A lot of people say Behringer synths just don't belong next to Moogs... so yeah, I'm doing my best to make it work. :D
Hope you enjoy! 🤘🏻
Another quick jam using the Grey Meanie alongside the Moog Sound Studio. Hope you find it interesting! :D4. Behringer 2600 Gray Meanie | Noodling Session
btw, I’ve been struggling with free time lately, so you might’ve noticed I'm behind on comments.. But I'll catch up step by step! And of course, I’ll be checking out your jams too! Cheers, friends! 🤘🏻
Gray Meanie stuff... I really need to learn this synth, feeling quite lost while jamming, so yeah... This isn't even a jam, it's just a noodling session, trying things out with the Korg SQ-64...5. Paraphonic mode on Behringer 2600 | Noodling Session
Hope you find it interesting!
First time using the 2600 in duo mode. I used the Arturia MicroBrute strictly as a keyboard controller, there's no sound coming from it here. The whole thing is just a raw jam with a many mistakes, but I was having a blast. I really love how the 2600 sounds as a paraphonic synth and I was completely lost in the zone while noodling...
Hope you find it interesting!

Editor (Moog Minitaur // DFAM // Waldorf Protein // Roland JU06A // TR6S // Squarp Hapax)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This time, I'm keeping the same setup as my previous jam... [below] with one new member joining the party: the Moog Minitaur. 🎸
But the real star of this experiment is probably the Squarp Hapax.
I've been pushing its sequencing capabilities a little further this time, using a combination of its MIDI effects, automation and LFO modulation to make the different parts evolve throughout the performance.
I'm using several of the Hapax MIDI effects, including Euclid, Harmony, Random and Swing, as well as LFOs to continuously modulate MIDI parameters (using CC).
And I also wanted to explore the FILL feature a bit further.
For example, I use a Fill to create a drum break, while simultaneously triggering an LFO that sends CC messages to the TR-6S, increasing the level of its internal reverb during the break.
So the Hapax isn't simply telling the synths which notes to play anymore... it's also changing their behaviour while the music is happening. Quite a lot is happening behind the scenes, even if hopefully it doesn't sound like a Hapax having a nervous breakdown. 😄
The performance was recorded in a single take. I mixed and mastered the individual tracks afterwards in Ableton Live, but the actual performance wasn't edited or fixed."

Poly Rave 👾 (Waldorf PROTEIN // Roland TR-6S // JU-06A // Moog DFAM // Squarp HAPAX)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This time, I'm introducing a new instrument to the setup: the Waldorf Protein, used here for the CHORDS 🎹
The rest of the setup is made of a Roland JU-06A for the BASS, a Roland TR-6S for the DRUMS (no samples used, only ACB analog behavior engine with mainly the TR-808 model) and, for some additional percussion, the only analog instrument in the setup: the good Moog DFAM 🤩
Everything is sequenced by the Squarp Hapax, with quite a few things happening behind the scenes as usual.
MIDI LFOs are used to modulate some parameters of the TR-6S, while automation takes care of changing parameters on the JU-06A during the performance.
This time I also decided to use the Hapax's physical MIDI ports rather than relying on USB MIDI:
MIDI A : Roland TR-6S
MIDI B : Roland JU-06A
MIDI D (TRS) : Waldorf PROTEIN
And then there's the DFAM... which, as usual, refuses to speak MIDI. 😄
Since the DFAM doesn't have a MIDI input, I sent very short Gate pulses from the Hapax (Track 11) to simulate an audio clock, allowing its internal sequencer to advance in sync with the rest of the setup.
So, quite a lot going on behind what hopefully sounds like a relatively simple piece of music!
Another little experiment in making several machines behave together without making the whole thing look like a NASA control room 😄
As always, the performance itself was recorded in a single take. I do the mixing and mastering afterwards in Ableton Live."

Can this synth restore his faith in Monosynths?
video upload by Oscillator Sink
"I must confess, for the past few years I have felt sort of burned out on what you might term “traditional mono-synths”. Not because of the sound or their utility in electronic music, but because…well I guess the fact that I used the word utility sums it up: it had been a while since I had come across a mono-synth which felt like more than a means to a musical end; it had been a while since a mono-synth felt fun.
Which is why I was overjoyed at superbooth this year to come across a number of mono-synths which renewed my faith in the genre - instruments which did something fresh and exciting in their presentation, features and sound, which iterated on traditional ideas in truly interesting and useful ways leading to instruments that felt fresh and playful without being unfamiliar.
One of those instruments was the SWEN2 from Analog Sweden. Based on their earlier, rare and relatively expensive Swenigizer synth, which itself was based on an even rarer and much more expensive synth called the Energizer, the SWEN2 manages both to add new features while also moving to a manufacturing process that makes it a lot more affordable - it feels like a lot of synth for the money.
At its heart SWEN2 is a semi-modular subtractive synth but with so many clever little tweaks to its sound and usability, along with some ideas that I haven’t really seen in other instruments, as well as a very fun and jammable generative sequencer, all of which add up to an instrument that is a joy to use and, yes, extremely fun.
Transparency Notice: Analog Sweden kindly sent me this prototype unit for free after meeting the team at Superbooth, but they haven’t had any editorial oversight of this video."

The Key - 4-Minute Jam (TempoKEY K32 Play + Taiga + DFAM)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This video is a little different for two reasons!
First, it's the first time I'm featuring an instrument kindly provided by a manufacturer. Synido sent me the TempoKEY K32 Play to explore in my own workflow and share my honest impressions.
They didn't ask for a scripted review, so I simply approached it the same way I approach every other instrument on this channel: by making music with it.
Secondly... this is exceptionally a 4-minute jam!
Think of it as two consecutive 2-minute performances before I take a short summer break. 😊
Rather than trying to showcase every feature of the K32 as a MIDI controller (Bluetooth MIDI, battery power, USB/MIDI connectivity, pads, knobs, etc.), I wanted to focus on what intrigued me the most: its built-in General MIDI sound engine.
For this performance, the Hapax sequences the entire setup. The Taiga handles the bass, the DFAM takes care of the analog drums (synchronized by the Hapax), while the K32 Play provides everything else: guitars, strings, bells, plucks, additional drum sounds… and occasionally runs through the Eventide H90 for a bit of extra space and texture.
As always, the musical performance itself was recorded in a single take. Mixing/mastering was done afterwards in Ableton Live, but the performance you hear is exactly as it happened.
A sincere thank you to Synido. Without their message, this musical experiment probably wouldn't have happened."

Unsync - 3 Semi-Modular Analog Synths (0-Coast, Taiga & DFAM) sequenced by Hapax
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This time I wanted to experiment with a rather unusual setup: 3 semi-modular analog monosynths playing together. My goal wasn't to make the melody complex, but rather the rhythm. I tried to build a piece that sounds fairly simple on the surface, while hiding polymeters and polyrhythms underneath 😎
On paper, it doesn't sound like the most obvious setup: one synth for plucks, one for bass, one for percussion... and somehow convincing them to play nicely together!
The Hapax is sequencing the whole performance. At one point I activate its MIDI Euclid effect on the bass sequence to introduce a bit of rhythmic tension before bringing everything back to the original groove.
The DFAM is also receiving CV from the Hapax to transpose Oscillator 1 so that its pitch follows the bass line. Since the DFAM is usually thought of as a percussion synth, I always enjoy pushing it a little outside of its comfort zone 😉
Another thing I wanted to highlight was the Shape control on the Pittsburgh Modular Taiga. Throughout the jam, I gradually morph the bass timbre simply by playing with the oscillator shapes. It's one of my favourite aspects of the Taiga: even a simple bass line can evolve dramatically without touching the sequence itself. The same approach works beautifully for leads and other melodic parts too.
As always, this was performed in a single take. I do the mixing and mastering afterwards in Ableton Live, but I didn't edit or 'fix' the performance itself. What you hear is what was played."
