Can this synth restore his faith in Monosynths?
video upload by Oscillator Sink
"I must confess, for the past few years I have felt sort of burned out on what you might term “traditional mono-synths”. Not because of the sound or their utility in electronic music, but because…well I guess the fact that I used the word utility sums it up: it had been a while since I had come across a mono-synth which felt like more than a means to a musical end; it had been a while since a mono-synth felt fun.
Which is why I was overjoyed at superbooth this year to come across a number of mono-synths which renewed my faith in the genre - instruments which did something fresh and exciting in their presentation, features and sound, which iterated on traditional ideas in truly interesting and useful ways leading to instruments that felt fresh and playful without being unfamiliar.
One of those instruments was the SWEN2 from Analog Sweden. Based on their earlier, rare and relatively expensive Swenigizer synth, which itself was based on an even rarer and much more expensive synth called the Energizer, the SWEN2 manages both to add new features while also moving to a manufacturing process that makes it a lot more affordable - it feels like a lot of synth for the money.
At its heart SWEN2 is a semi-modular subtractive synth but with so many clever little tweaks to its sound and usability, along with some ideas that I haven’t really seen in other instruments, as well as a very fun and jammable generative sequencer, all of which add up to an instrument that is a joy to use and, yes, extremely fun.
Transparency Notice: Analog Sweden kindly sent me this prototype unit for free after meeting the team at Superbooth, but they haven’t had any editorial oversight of this video."

The Key - 4-Minute Jam (TempoKEY K32 Play + Taiga + DFAM)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This video is a little different for two reasons!
First, it's the first time I'm featuring an instrument kindly provided by a manufacturer. Synido sent me the TempoKEY K32 Play to explore in my own workflow and share my honest impressions.
They didn't ask for a scripted review, so I simply approached it the same way I approach every other instrument on this channel: by making music with it.
Secondly... this is exceptionally a 4-minute jam!
Think of it as two consecutive 2-minute performances before I take a short summer break. 😊
Rather than trying to showcase every feature of the K32 as a MIDI controller (Bluetooth MIDI, battery power, USB/MIDI connectivity, pads, knobs, etc.), I wanted to focus on what intrigued me the most: its built-in General MIDI sound engine.
For this performance, the Hapax sequences the entire setup. The Taiga handles the bass, the DFAM takes care of the analog drums (synchronized by the Hapax), while the K32 Play provides everything else: guitars, strings, bells, plucks, additional drum sounds… and occasionally runs through the Eventide H90 for a bit of extra space and texture.
As always, the musical performance itself was recorded in a single take. Mixing/mastering was done afterwards in Ableton Live, but the performance you hear is exactly as it happened.
A sincere thank you to Synido. Without their message, this musical experiment probably wouldn't have happened."
✅ PLAY THE MOMENT INSPIRATION HITS
Most MIDI keyboards need a computer and software to make a sound. K32 doesn't. Built-in sounds and speakers let you play instantly--couch,classroom, anywhere.✅ 32 KEYS, MORE ROOM

Unsync - 3 Semi-Modular Analog Synths (0-Coast, Taiga & DFAM) sequenced by Hapax
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This time I wanted to experiment with a rather unusual setup: 3 semi-modular analog monosynths playing together. My goal wasn't to make the melody complex, but rather the rhythm. I tried to build a piece that sounds fairly simple on the surface, while hiding polymeters and polyrhythms underneath 😎
On paper, it doesn't sound like the most obvious setup: one synth for plucks, one for bass, one for percussion... and somehow convincing them to play nicely together!
The Hapax is sequencing the whole performance. At one point I activate its MIDI Euclid effect on the bass sequence to introduce a bit of rhythmic tension before bringing everything back to the original groove.
The DFAM is also receiving CV from the Hapax to transpose Oscillator 1 so that its pitch follows the bass line. Since the DFAM is usually thought of as a percussion synth, I always enjoy pushing it a little outside of its comfort zone 😉
Another thing I wanted to highlight was the Shape control on the Pittsburgh Modular Taiga. Throughout the jam, I gradually morph the bass timbre simply by playing with the oscillator shapes. It's one of my favourite aspects of the Taiga: even a simple bass line can evolve dramatically without touching the sequence itself. The same approach works beautifully for leads and other melodic parts too.
As always, this was performed in a single take. I do the mixing and mastering afterwards in Ableton Live, but I didn't edit or 'fix' the performance itself. What you hear is what was played."

The Latest MAFD (MIDI Adapter For DFAM) is your DFF (Drumming Friend Forever) / DFFMAFD Demo

Amir Ziv's custom Moog DFAM rig w/Sonoclast, Keith McMillen Instruments, Avi Ziv, and Bome Software
video upload by Amir Ziv
"Composer/Drummer/Educator Amir Ziv demos his custom Moog DFAM rig. This system was created for remotely controlling and manipulating the Moog DFAM sequencer and for remotely modulating the synthesizer's sounds while playing the drum-set. Rather than play along to a loop or a recording, the goal was to be able to get the synth (in real-time) to "lead-in/follow/respond to" whatever phrasing is played on the drum-set in an improvisation or in a through-composed composition.
The live performance at the end of this video as well as the intro/outro music are improvised compositions performed live in real-time on this custom DFAM rig and the acoustic drum-set.. There are no overdubs or edits in any of the music.

MadeOnEarth - LedRover Analog Stereo Distortion Pedal
MadeOnEarth - LedRover vs Dfam video upload by Isak Eliyahu
Press release follows:

LEDROVER: ANALOG STEREO DISTORTIONThe LedRover is a 100% analog stereo diode-based distortion effect from MOE. It originated from our quest for the ultimate distortion effect for the TB-303, finalized after a year of experiments with various components including diodes,
LEDs, germanium, and custom potentiometers. The inspiration for the circuit came from a famous filter resonance design that we discovered uses diodes in the feedback loop, which creates a round sound with a distortion tone that can be aggressive while remaining musical and preserving the character of the original signal. Based on this, we designed two distortion modes for the LedRover using different diode placements. Following extensive calibration for synthesizers and drum machines, we have ensured the effect is suitable for a wide range of applications—from kicks and snares to cymbals, bass, and leads—offering everything from delicate warmth to extreme distortion.
The integrated Tilt filter was born from our understanding that filtering before overdrive is essential for emphasizing frequencies pleasant to the ear. Unlike standard Tilt filters that typically offer a 6dB/Octave slope, we designed the LedRover with a steeper 15dB/Octave slope for both low and high frequency ranges. This ensures the signal enters the distortion with high saturation, allowing the circuit to mangle the sound even further. We selected the reference point for the filter through trial and error across a variety of gear to emphasize mid-range frequencies rather than just extreme highs, providing a flattering response for the distortion circuit.
Additionally, we added an x10 Boost button to push instruments with weak outputs hard into the Tilt filter. This creates distortion right at the entrance of the filter, which can be controlled delicately with the input knob; as you attenuate the input volume, the action of the filter becomes significantly more pronounced, while higher values create a unique op-amp saturation that works in perfect synergy with the diode overdrive. We build the LedRover to the highest standards of reliability and feel, housed in a custom aluminum box with resilient UV-printing and custom potentiometers.
Feature List:
100% Analog Stereo Diode-Based Colorful Distortion Circuit.
Dual Distortion Modes: Two distinct distortion characters.
Custom 15dB/Octave Tilt Filter.
x10 Boost Switch: Push weak instrument signals and overdrive the Tilt filter op-amps for additional colorful harmonics.
Two-Mode VU Meter: Visual monitoring of the wet and dry signals.
Dedicated Input and Output Controls.
Buffered Bypass.
High Standard Build Quality: Custom aluminum box with resilient UV-printing and custom potentiometers.
Compact Form Factor: W: 12cm (4.7") x D: 10cm (3.9") x H: 5.5cm (2.2").
We are very excited to officially debut the LedRover and our beloved Analog Chorus 60 at Superbooth in Berlin, Booth B048. We will have a demo station equipped with two sets of headphones, but you are also welcome to connect your own.
