Yuyo cmos synth - First try Attiny85 dco with analog cmos shaping and twin t filter

video upload by JIANT

"everything is from the synth to the zoom recorder, twin t drums, xor snare, pt2399, and cmos stuff.

attiny85 reseting the phase of 40106 oscilators, the digital control accepts 1voct from keysetp and go to the 40106 inputs through resistors, a little rc for filtering the pwm, and for this reason when you change the oscillator frequency you can get intervals and crazy stuff. is not orthodox but suits my need for Rich timbres. the dco goes to 40106 buffers , and then 4040 dividers, twin t filters, one for each of the two voices, one goes to env, vca, filter, delay, and the other one to clock divider and filter, to get the sub osc.

firmware super simple only for checking the conversion from filtered frecuency of the attiny85 to my 40106 non exponencial vcos.
currently is tracking 10 octaves really good, the trick is put a voltage divider in the cv in of the attiny because keystep has 0 to 10v and the attiny accepts 0 to 5v tehn the tracking inside the attiny converts o.5v oct to 1 volt oct. i dont know anything about coding but i made it with chat gpt and my design . source code will be in the coments ."

Matt Barber - 80's in 80 seconds

video upload by Matt Barber - Sounds from The Sandbox

"Just thought I would try a little something fun...the title says it all. 0 to 80's in 80 seconds. Enjoy. Certified AI free and no traces of softsynths!

Drums - Oberheim DX Stretch, Korg DDD-1 - just a snare on 2 and 4 with mostly just the reverb return from a Roland SDE-330 non-lin setting, Roland TR8S - some perc and a ghost snare from the 707 kit.

Oberheim OB-8

Korg DW-8000

Bass - Roland D-50 patch also triggering a Roland JX8P and Korg Polysix to fatten and double it

Ensoniq ESQ - A nice PPG Wave patch from a sound cartridge I have for it.

Sequential Rev 2 also triggering a bell patch on the Yamaha TG33

Yamaha DX7iiD - nice dual patch one a rhodes type and the other a tine from the many banks on the Hypersynth card to finish it off and play out on."

Matt Barber - 80's in 80 seconds - Episode 2

video upload by Matt Barber - Sounds from The Sandbox

"80's in 80 Seconds Episode 2 has landed! The first one was a bit fun so let's keep the theme going. This one starts off with a nice "groove" and builds with some synths spanning the decade. If you listen past the 80 seconds the Arp Odyssey briefly shows off its duo-phonic capabilities with a few 2 note chords that almost have a vocoder like effect with the phaser on it just after the 2 minute mark.
The following instruments were used and recorded as a 2 track with no editing or overdubs with each part being played into a pair of Arturia Keystep Pro sequencers. As always, AI free and made with real ingredients. Thanks for watching!

Oberheim DX Stretch - main drums
Korg DDD-1 - perc
Roland TR8-S - additional high hats, rim shot, crash
Berhinger - Model D - Bass
Roland Jupiter 4 - Arp
Korg PolySix - Synth Brass Pad 1
Roland Jupiter 6 - Synth layer 2
Yamaha DX7II - Bell 1
Roland D-50 - Bell 2
Arp Solina - Strings
Arp Odyssey Mkii 2810 - Lead"

Matt Barber - 80's in 80 seconds - Episode 3

video upload by Matt Barber - Sounds from The Sandbox

"80's in 80 seconds episode 3 is here to start of the New Year! I thought something "new" should be in 'order' after the busy holiday period. Several familiar sounds in this one that can most likely been dialed in on many synths of the era but this one builds with the hardware listed below. All natural...Certified AI and VST free. Thanks for listening!

Drums -
Korg DDD-1 to start with the first hi-hat
Oberhiem DX Stretch - Main kick, beat kick, snare, additional hi-hat, clap, and rim shot
Roland TR-8S - a little kick for attack, snare ghost notes, and high hat movement

Pad 1 - Oberheim OB-8

BASS - Berhinger Pro 1 and Poly D played with the arpeggio on on the Keystep Pro

Pad 2 - Roland D50 layered with Roland JX-8P and Korg DW8000

Bell - DX 7 ....of course it is!

ARP Chords - Roland Jupiter 4."

Exponential ⤴️ (Arturia Minifreak) #onesynthonly #fromscratch

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"2nd video with the Arturia Minifreak hybrid (digital/analog) synth, with a OneSynthOnly jam (after the first video where I used 5 instances of the Minifreak in multi-track: • Cinefreak 📽️ (Arturia Minifreak // Conduct... 😉)

The jam starts with me recording in step mode a sequence.
Then the sequence is being played with me tweaking some parameters like adding delay, fading-in the second oscillator (superwave), modulating the analog filter etc.
In the second half of the video, I switched to the mode where I can transpose in real-time the sequence recorded (i.e. you can no longer play over the sequence, when you press on a key, it transposes the whole sequence to this key). What is really cool is that Arturia added the Scale feature which I really love, thus making it possible to transpose within a defined scale like on the Keystep Pro! 🤩"

Antonus 2600 - Test Drive 2

video upload by Tumeni Knobs

Part 1 here

"This is an extended version of the patch I created for the Antonus 'Patch Challenge'. The 90 second version was featured on their social media sites. :-) I really enjoyed listening to this patch and messing around with it, so thought I should record a longer version. This is a combination of generative and performance patching in that I could let it run for hours and it would be dynamic enough to listen to in the background, but it also was good fun to actively mess around with.

The hardware is the Antonus 2600 DIY version, with the Antonus SidecARP Eurorack expansion case, the Arturia KeyStep Pro and Fractal Audio VP4.

SidecARP modules are, from left to right:
ALM - Pamela's New Workout
Stochastic Instruments - Stochastic Inspiration Generator
Qu-Bit - Surface
Addac - Swell Physics
Molten Modular - Motion MTR
Black Corporation - Deckard's Voice
Make Noise - Mimeophon
Qu-Bit - Nautilus,
ALM - S.B.G Pro
Roland - 531 Mixer

KSP provides a clock signal to PNW and the five step "anchor" arpeggio to the 2600 Osc 1. SIG provides three separate sequences to ARP Osc 3, Surface and Deckard's Voice. The notes are based on the Dm scale. 2600 Osc 2 is LFOing the Cutoff. 2600 Noise is randomly mixed in for added texture. VP4 is used for some subtle flanger and reverb on the 2600 (through the S.B.G. Pro), but I also mix in some clock-sync'd panning and some delay. Surface goes into Nautilus and Deckard goes into Mimeophon. All mixed together in the Roland 531 mixer. Recorded on iPhone 12 Max through an iRig Pro from 531 line outs."

Solist 🎸(Roland JD08 + Bigsky + Pill // SE02 + H90 // TR6S // Erica Synths DB01 Bassline + Lethargy)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"Let's go for a 5-Minute Warning video, with some real-time guitar-like sound solo playing! 😊

0:00 - Scene 1: Intro starts with the STRINGS (JD-08), ARP (SE-02) and DRUMS (TR-6S)

0:46 - Scene 2: DRUMS knob reload for big sound + BASS (DB-01)

1:17 - Scene 3: SOLO 1 improvised (JD-08)

2:02 - Scene 4: Bridge

3:04 - Scene 5: SOLO 2 improvised (JD-08)

3:50 - Scene 6: Outro

Some tips used here:

TR6S (DRUMS): I used the 'KIT KNOB RELOAD' feature to get back to the big drum sounds as it was saved in the kit (I previously moved the knobs to pitch up/down and reduce the decay of all the sounds for the intro)

TR6S (DRUMS): the VINYL SIM effect is used on the TR6S' master bus to heavily compress the DRUMS

TR6S (DRUMS): I used the internal LFO to modulate a few parameters on the DRUM tracks to add some subtle variations

KEYSTEP PRO (Sequencer): I used the Chain feature to chain 2 patterns in order to have an 8-bar pattern for the ARP sequences

KEYSTEP PRO (Sequencer): I used the Scene feature to load different patterns and mutes in one time (to switch to the bridge for example)"

Stromer Mutroniks Electric Bongos

video upload by Stromer Mutroniks

"Another video of my version of the Mica sonic electric bongos. This time played with an Arturia Keystep Pro."

Follow-up to this post.

New pics in green via this Reverb listing

"My recreation of the Mica-Sonic Electric Bongos.

Here's Soundgas description of the Stromer Bongos:

'A handbuilt analogue recreation of the fabled electronic percussion circuit as used by Madlib and on the legendary recording of Ann Peebles 'I Can't Stand the Rain'.'

These are handbuilt in small batches so expect some inconsistencies with the finish - sonically they're very close to the originals (though all originals vary in tone/timbre now due to component ageing/drift."

Each drum tone has a trim pot inside that's been adjusted so that the oscillator is just below the point of self-oscillation. When triggered, the circuit oscillates at its resonant frequency and rings out like a drum. Pushing in the 'mute' button shortens the decay.

To play these you need something that sends trigger pulses, like a beat- or key-step pro, or a drum machine with trigger outputs. Works with your standard center negative 9 volt adapter (not included)."

Antonus 2600 DIY - Test Drive

video upload by Tumeni Knobs

"This is my Antonus 2600 - I just completed building it from the synthCube.com full DIY kit. It is a huge project! Working on it in my free time, it took six months for me to complete. But I'm sure a full-time builder could do it in a couple of weeks. I actually love that it took me this long. :-)

Anyway, since I first powered it up I have been testing, calibrating and starting to understand how it works, and yes, it deserves it's reputation as an awesome sounding and very flexible synthesizer.

This video is just me noodling on it using the Arturia KeyStep Pro with a sound/patch I really like. This is actually just one of its three oscillators, but I have the saw and square waves patched in. The other two oscillators are in LFO mode. The oscillator is using the ADSR envelope and the filter is using the AR envelope plus an LFO to modulate it - makes some interesting accents.

Effects are courtesy of the Fractal Audio VP4, which is an incredible pedal.

I thought adding some drums would give this more of a musical context, so I force-fit some patterns from EZ Drummer.

The opening groove is definitely reminiscent of Bluetech's Laika, from the Spacehop Chronicles album. It's intentional. :-) I really like his stuff! Go buy some at Bandcamp.

This signal path for this recording goes like this: 2600 into VP4 into iRig into iPhone. I then applied a little EQ in Studio One, just to trim out the extreme highs and lows - I did not use any compression on this.

Can't wait to make some "proper" music with this amazing synth.

Cheers!"

Behringer 2-XM Four Voice Poly Action Using CV.OCD [Demo 01]

video upload by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2025

Today I'm employing a Sixty Four Pixels CV.OCD to distribute CV/gate amongst two Behringer 2-XM synths for proper Four Voice allocation. As of today the 2-XM firmware on its own does not support individual voice allocation this way. And THIS is very much what I signed up for: stereo panning each voice however I want, pulling out notes of a sequence/chord using filter and envelope controls per voice, and slight variations in the voicings giving rise to an analog sound that is very much alive. Even when the sequence is just arpeggiating a single note value, the variations suggest movement as you will hear.

All audio recorded direct to iPhone via Roland GO:MIXER Pro-X. No sound effects are applied, some normalization in post processing. Signals were sub-mixed on a Soundcraft EPM6 mixer, no added EQ. Sequencing by Arturia Keystep Pro.

0:00 Chords and Bass Sequence I

Monotrail Starting with Modular
video upload by Monotrail Tech Talk

1. Getting started with modular - 4 eurorack systems explained
There are many ways to get started with modular, and many reason to be interested in it. There is no single solution, modular is a journey and you have to discover and experience your own. This video is part of a series where I share some thoughts and ideas I wish I could find when I started out. Take or leave whatever you like :)

Timetable:

02:17 – The Monosynth
06:32 – The Sonic exploration lab
10:26 – The Performance system
15:34 – The Dedicated tool
2. What modules should you buy when starting with modular?
Getting started with eurorack can be confusing. The number of modules available grows ever week. And on top of that, what you need depends on what you want to do with your modular. In this episode in a longer series, I look at a 4-module starter voice as an option.

Sunday Session Jam 01 🎹🎹🎹 #electronicmusic #synthesizer #shorts

video upload by Luke Million

"I’m thinking about starting a fun new video series where I create jams in my studio on Sunday afternoons.

Today I’ve set up my Arturia KeyStep Pro, ARP 2600M, Moog Matriarch and Arturia DrumBrute Impact 1984.

The KeyStep sends midi clock to the DrumBrute and sequences the ARP2600M. And the Matriarch is dialled in for some tweaking!

Sunday arvo’s do have a vibe and are perfect for music creation with no distractions 😊"

"The Redshift 6 can now run up to 6 parts dividing up the 6 voices and 96 oscillators accordingly. I thought I'd capture this as I'm working on my review of this interesting analogue synth.

Is it me or is the Keystep Pro just a bit dodgy?"
