"Afternoon exploration session with 3 silver boxes, the Elektron Machinedrum handling the beat and the classic SID Station led by the Lightreft Monolit on the 2.0β firmware.
Machinedrum keeps things tight and mechanical while the SID Station focuses on texture. Bit-grit, noise edges, and shifting timbres.
Just experimenting, seeing how far the monolit can take Midi Automation over an IDM groove. #machinedrum #sidstation #idm"

"A piece created with the @Dirtywave M8 Tracker Model:02. Abstract beat electronica progressing with glitch-infused textures.
The track was produced on the M8 Tracker Model:02, then performed through the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII with added micro-loops, reverb, and pitch-shift effects.
Beats are mainly triggered using the M8’s Sampler. The main chords are also played by loading synth samples into the Sampler.
At times, the DJ Filter cutoff on the M8 is adjusted during performance."
"Today we are going to check out the new module from the Tiptop & Buchla 200t serie: the Triple Envelope Follower Model 230t.
It's a fantastic addition to the 200t echosystem, that will let you control dynamic or timing with external audio such as, microphone, samples, drum pads, electric instruments, field recording or anything in that spirit.
It can also be used as an decay envelope in the system or in compression / expansion patches."
TipTop Buchla 230t – Triple Envelope Follower // Interact with your patches!
"The Buchla 230 is here, and while it might not be the shiniest module (I know you're lusting after the tenth granular effect or the twelfth tape-inspired contraption), it's quite a useful and FUN one!
Not only does it stop the modular from being this separated entity, and it gives it back the ability to listen and interact with the real world, but analysing the internal signals can be a productive endeavour too.
In this video, I'll show you some cool patches, and I will introduce the concept of sidechain in the Buchla system, which in this case was used in the most common way we associate with the term, but it can also be a powerful tool to swell reverbs, make multiple voices arise in a sea of notes, and, in general, make more lively patches :)"
"WORKING CONDITION: Fair - All keys and cassettes are sounding and operational, except for both "B" Keys. You can hear some light hiss when pressing the keys but no sound. The output volume knob does not adjust, so presently the volume is fixed, but fortunately, it is at high volume. About 4 of the tuning knobs don't change the pitch but the rest are adjustable to varying degrees. When the drum track is turned off, you can still hear it bleed through the output faintly. We can say that it is mostly working and usable for some creative inspiration, but it could probably use some cleaning and perhaps some servicing by a tech.
The pack includes an instruction manual and what appears to be schematics, so it is serviceable. Also includes instructions on how to swap out the Walkmans, so you can keep this thing going for a long time!
PHYSICAL CONDITION: Good - This is a 1-of-1 custom-built "Mellotron Style" keyboard that runs off of 14 Memorex "Walkman" cassette players. The lid is hinged at the back and when closed does not fix to the front by design, so you can access the cassettes conveniently. The keys are a little uneven but that is all part of the charm of this unicorn. All the keys are stable otherwise and so is the rest of the unit.
See and hear the video of this very unit at the end of the photos.
INVENTORY #55795
BRAND: Mike Walters
MODEL: The Melloman
FUNCTION: Mellotron Style Keyboard
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a Mystery Circuits by Mike Walters, The "New" Melloman Mellotron Style Keyboard.
You can swap out cassettes with your own recording samples on them to get that warbly aged Mellotron style sound with any tone. Currently, the cassettes have a Polymoog Vox Humana on one side, and female vocal on the other.
From the Mystery Circuits Website:
"This is the new Melloman, built eight years after its predecessor. It was commissioned by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver, Volcano Choir), and took me a little over a year to complete. Like the original Melloman, this is my DIY design of the classic Mellotron. There are 14 Walkmans inside the Melloman, running tapes of continuous notes. Each tape has two octaves of a looping sound, and those sounds are routed to the output when a key is pressed on the keyboard. The new Melloman is a complete redesign of the original Melloman I built in 2005"- Mike Walters
The website and page for this item is still active for those who want to do more research. Simply search Mystery Circuits and find 'The New Melloman 2013'."

"Elster from LPZW is an all-in-one cymbal section in 4HP, based on the circuitry and ROMs of the classic 909 drum machine. It provides three different cymbal sounds, including Ride, Crash, and both open and closed Hihats. It contains a number of creative and performance based controls, such as the dedicated Accent CV input, giving you access to the same kind of expression found on the original machine. The Decay slider allows you to dial in the perfect sound for your cymbals, along with the bipolar CV input for extra expression potential. The Pitch slider gives you access to the classic Pitch/Speed sound from modulating the speed of samples, along with the Range switch, which emulates a similar pitch range as the original 909, or expands the range even further for more experimental results.
The Reverse Playback button gives you instant access to reversed version of each cymbal, apart from the Hihat mode, which when engaged allows the REV CV input to become a trigger for the Open Hihat. The LPZW also comes with a Mojo switch, which when active adds subtle drive and coloration to your cymbals, allowing them to sit better in a full mix. If you're looking for a well-rounded cymbal module, the Elster from LPZW provides excellent sound and performance capabilities, all in only 4HP.

"What happens when you slice Daft Punk’s Discovery into 40 seconds—and drop it into a MON2?

"E-Mu SP-12 with the Turbo Upgrade in Very Good+ condition, fully functional, and just received a $747 professional service by Advance Musical Electronics in LA — recapped, recalibrated & performing like new.
Originally a standard model with 1.2 seconds of sample time, it’s now upgraded to the Turbo edition with 5 seconds via brand-new RAM and OS (Version 2.6) chips.
Made in Santa Cruz, CA USA.
Highlights:
Boots instantly with internal RAM – no floppy boot loading, no lost work if you forget to save.
Skip the floppies: Modern tools like SP12 Librarian & EMXP make sample management easy via computer.
Lo-fi sampling tricks double or quadruple sample time with pitch shifting — that signature SP sound.
Slightly higher sampling rate than the SP-1200 (on paper) and stock ROM sounds built in.
More unique and rarer than the SP-1200 — only produced for a short time.
Ideal for hybrid setups: use the SP as a sequencer and sound shaper, with a rack sampler for long samples.
Looks cooler, sounds amazing, and (IMHO) it’s better than an SP-1200 for less than the price of one."

"This clip showcases one of our favourite modes on DivSkip, our module collaboration with @DivKid, speed ramps for triggers!
DivSkip's channel 1 is set to play a house pattern with a 4/4 kick on Out A, and a snare on the upbeats on Out B. The Kick trigger is going directly @VladimirPantelic ‘s VPME QD quad drum. The snare trigger is duplicated with Multiplikand, and used both as trigger for channel 4 and an 808 snare on Mutable Instruments Peaks.
DivSkip's channel 4 is set to ramp mode. Depending on how the knob is set, the time between two triggers will speed up or slow down. This speed ramp advances an arpeggio played on the @weareelektron8453 Model:Samples in single cycle waveform mode.
Finally, #DivSkip 's channel 2 is playing a noise model on Mutable Instruments Plaits, with the A and B outputs triggering different settings using @vaskiembedded‘s super handy ECS-4 Triggered Switch module.
Enrica mutes and unmutes each channel on the fly with a click of the push potentiometer.
