Introducing The Mutable Challenge
video upload by Gaz Williams
"The Mutable Challenge is a tribute to the late, great Mutable Instruments, the most innovative of all Eurorack makers, who ended their journey in 2022. In this challenge, participants start with a rack entirely filled with Mutable Instruments modules and have one hour to create anything they like—be it a tune, a riff, a sound effect, or even pure noise—to showcase the unique and creative potential of these iconic modules. With official Mutable patch cables and just two other pieces of gear allowed—an Arturia KeyStep 37 and a Cre8audio Assembler mixer—participants are free to let the Mutable magic unfold.

Big thanks to Tom Kirton for Yarns and to MonoJack from BeepBoop for the kind loan of Edges"
The Gaz Williams' Mutable Challenge/Tribute - Row 01
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"Let's just all celebrate Mutable Instruments. I met Gaz Williams @GazWilliams on Dutch Modular Fest (2025) a week ago. I couldn't do the test myself, but I was really inspired by his inititative. Mutable is probably the most influential brand in Eurorack and beyond. You can easily find clones that suit your budget, and nearly all modules are available in VCV. If you feel like patching along, I will share a few tips and tricks (trips) and hopefully help you find a few new happy accidents.

Antonus 2600 DIY - Test Drive
video upload by Tumeni Knobs
"This is my Antonus 2600 - I just completed building it from the synthCube.com full DIY kit. It is a huge project! Working on it in my free time, it took six months for me to complete. But I'm sure a full-time builder could do it in a couple of weeks. I actually love that it took me this long. :-)
Anyway, since I first powered it up I have been testing, calibrating and starting to understand how it works, and yes, it deserves it's reputation as an awesome sounding and very flexible synthesizer.
This video is just me noodling on it using the Arturia KeyStep Pro with a sound/patch I really like. This is actually just one of its three oscillators, but I have the saw and square waves patched in. The other two oscillators are in LFO mode. The oscillator is using the ADSR envelope and the filter is using the AR envelope plus an LFO to modulate it - makes some interesting accents.
Effects are courtesy of the Fractal Audio VP4, which is an incredible pedal.
I thought adding some drums would give this more of a musical context, so I force-fit some patterns from EZ Drummer.
The opening groove is definitely reminiscent of Bluetech's Laika, from the Spacehop Chronicles album. It's intentional. :-) I really like his stuff! Go buy some at Bandcamp.
This signal path for this recording goes like this: 2600 into VP4 into iRig into iPhone. I then applied a little EQ in Studio One, just to trim out the extreme highs and lows - I did not use any compression on this.
Can't wait to make some "proper" music with this amazing synth.
Cheers!"

Behringer 2-XM Four Voice Poly Action Using CV.OCD [Demo 01]
video upload by gstormelectro
"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2025
Today I'm employing a Sixty Four Pixels CV.OCD to distribute CV/gate amongst two Behringer 2-XM synths for proper Four Voice allocation. As of today the 2-XM firmware on its own does not support individual voice allocation this way. And THIS is very much what I signed up for: stereo panning each voice however I want, pulling out notes of a sequence/chord using filter and envelope controls per voice, and slight variations in the voicings giving rise to an analog sound that is very much alive. Even when the sequence is just arpeggiating a single note value, the variations suggest movement as you will hear.
All audio recorded direct to iPhone via Roland GO:MIXER Pro-X. No sound effects are applied, some normalization in post processing. Signals were sub-mixed on a Soundcraft EPM6 mixer, no added EQ. Sequencing by Arturia Keystep Pro.

Sunday Session Jam 01 πΉπΉπΉ #electronicmusic #synthesizer #shorts
video upload by Luke Million
"I’m thinking about starting a fun new video series where I create jams in my studio on Sunday afternoons.
Today I’ve set up my Arturia KeyStep Pro, ARP 2600M, Moog Matriarch and Arturia DrumBrute Impact 1984.
The KeyStep sends midi clock to the DrumBrute and sequences the ARP2600M. And the Matriarch is dialled in for some tweaking!
Sunday arvo’s do have a vibe and are perfect for music creation with no distractions π"

Lux π (Erica Synths LXR-02 + Oto Boum Compressor // Ableton Move 1.5 // Arturia Keystep Pro)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"2 minutes, no warning! π₯³
In this video, I really wanted to make use of the 1.5 new features of the Ableton Move like sequencing the different tracks of the Move from another sequencer (Keystep Pro here) and its new Auto Filter effect π€© (I was really waiting for these 2 updates!).
So the track starts with DRUMS played and sequenced by the LXR-02, through the Oto Machines Boum stereo analog compressor.
I then introduce the Move by opening the new Auto Filter effect.
The Move is playing some secondary percussions (Track 1), the BASS (Track 2, sequenced by Track 2 of the Keystep Pro), the ARP (Track 3 of the Move, sequenced by Track 3 of the Keystep Pro) and the CHORDS (Track 4 of the Move, sequenced by Track 4 of the Keystep Pro).
So with this setup, I was able to transpose in real-time the instruments played by the Move π

"The idea here was to connect and play three mono Synthesizer together to achieve a big soundscape with different timbre…
I quickly realised a few problems:
Biggest issue is my ability to play in the first place π
Timming and velocity feel much better when not recording though
Well after several times trying to record a couple minutes that’s best i came up with before abounding this patch
Definitely will keep practising

'Two Voices' Track recording with AJH Synth MiniMod Eurorack system
video upload by AJH Synth Official
"This was a real-time recording using a 3-VCO, 2 VCF modular system divided into 2 analogue synth voices. I used this system to record 5 tracks for a Bandcamp album, as performances without any overdubbing, yet using a modest amount of modules and gear:
The AJH SYNTH MiniMod system is an authentic recreation of the early R.A. Moog version of the Minimoog synthesiser, whilst some of the other other modules are also based on classic vintage synths. Because of this they can easily fill up a sound space with big, rich and characterful tones. This made them the ideal choice for a recording such as this. Without consciously setting out to do so, this particular track was more inspired by Arvo PΓ€rt and the late Henryk GΓ³recki than anything else.
Modules used:
Vintage Transistor Core VCO x3
Transistor Ladder Filter
Contour Generators
Discrete Cascaded VCA x2
Ring SM
Wave Swarm
Gemini 2412 (dual SEM filter)
Muting Mixer & VCA
Precision Voltages
Controllers:

Last Pill π (Nymphes + Deco2 // S1 + H90 // Drumbrute Impact + H90 + Pill // Keystep Pro)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"Here's a long video to end 2024 on a high note! π If you want to skip the 'build from scratch', you can jump to 2:00 π
3 instruments were used for this track:
The Dreadbox Nymphes for the CHORDS and LEAD
The Roland S-1 for the BASS
The Arturia Drumbrute Impact (DBI) for the DRUMS
With everything sequenced by the Arturia Keystep Pro (KSP).
1- The video starts with me recording in STEP mode 3 CHORDS, and setting the pattern's length to 3 steps (Track 3 of the KSP).
2- I then record 2 notes for a 3-step pattern for the BASS (Track 2 of the KSP).
3- I quickly switch to the DRUM pattern recording (Track 1 of the KSP), where I used some of the nice features of the KSP's sequencer (Time Shift, Randomness)
4- For the live performance, it's mainly me transposing in real-time on the KSP and playing with the sound parameters of the 3 instruments (Cutoff, Decay, Reverb etc.).
0:01 Recording the different parts
1:51 Build
2:06 Drop
2:36 Looper break
3:13 Full decay on the KICK

Motor Synth MkII and Synthstrom Deluge | downtempo synth performance
video upload by Jay Hosking
"Please support my work on Patreon: / jayhosking
A live synthesizer jam performed entirely on hardware.
Full disclosure: Walrus sent me along the R1 MkII for free. I'm a big fan of their SlΓΆer pedal and also really like the Meraki (both of which I bought with my own money), so I was happy to give the R1 MkII a spin. It's a decent workhorse pedal with full stereo, some cool algorithms (including a sort of granular-delay-reverb thing), and an easy interface. I think the SlΓΆer is still the better pedal if you're choosing based on character/personality, but if you need versatility and a small footprint, the R1 MkII might be for you. I look forward to exploring it more!
Once again, the incredible Miles Away leant me some of his gear to try out. This time, it's the Motor Synth MkII. It's hard to justify at the price point and with a technology that is less known in terms of longevity, and it certainly has some quirks that won't be for some. But man alive, the Motor Synth sounds absolutely incredible: warbly, rich, binaural, capable of mellow lofi ambient all the way up to overdriven bananas cyberpunk. It's incredible.
Check out Miles Away's exploration of the Motor Synth MkII here, and be sure to check out the second jam (heavy industrial electro): • Is This The Most Unique Synth EVER???... [posted here]
Here, I leveraged the mellower side of the Motor Synth and paired it with the Deluge, which is a natural fit in terms of complementary sounds. The R1 MkII was the reverb on the Motor Synth and also was a perfect fit; there's something about the R1's algorithms that makes the good for fitting in a mix. And to glue the Deluge sound together and add a little more personality, I added the Chroma Console doing saturation, doubling, delay, and tape.
Thanks for listening.
