YouTube via kosmotikshokk — April 29, 2010 — "With all the hype surrounding the iPad as a musical instrument, I thought I'd explore some much lower-tech, harder-core touch interfaces. This is a guitar string strung between two washers over an SVHS tape. One end of the SVHS is +5volts, the other is ground. When I press down on the guitar string it makes the bass wobble."
YouTube via chamberofsounds — April 29, 2010 — "Jupiter III is the new, handmade touch & light sensitive, analogue synth from Chamber of Sounds. Grab a mallet and go to town. Works by hand or foot too. Only from chamberofsounds.com"
"The MC-303 Groovebox contains sampled sounds from Roland's classics. It has TB-303, TR-808, 909, Jupiter, and Juno sounds on board. The sound bank is huge - there are 12 different drum kits and tons of sampled instruments.
The MC-303 has many features of Roland's classic synthesizers. It has an intuitive pattern sequencer based on the 808, which makes it easy to quickly compose tunes. It has Midi in/out so it can be used to sequence other hardware. It also has an arpeggiator which is very deep and flexible."
Anyone know if Tom Oberheim was behind this one as well? See this post for a great interview with Tom Oberheim. "Starting out in the music electronics business in the late ‘60s, early ‘70s by building legendary devices for Maestro and using his storefront to sell ARP synthesizers..., Tom Oberheim went on to shape the development of music equipment – and the sound of popular music – like very few other people."
"original Moog Music/Norlin Industries binder of the full service manuals for the Polymoog Synthesizer, the Polymoog Keyboard, and the Polypedal. Volume 1 is a Moog factory copy, and Volume 2 is original."
YouTube via danp212 — April 26, 2010 — "This is an extremely short video showcasing some Max for Live instruments I designed, and how I control them with the Akai APC40 or from the iPad. This video was made for a school presentation and I had to keep it at 4 minutes. I will soon be uploading a more detailed video explaining exactly what I am doing to integrate the iPad and APC40 into my Max for Live software. Enjoy this short demonstration for now."
YouTube via organfairy — April 29, 2010 — "'Dig og Mig' ( = You and me) was originally recorded in the mid 1980's by Danish one-hit-wonders "Dieters Lieder". Here I play it in multi track on the Siel DK-80 synthesizer and Korg Rhythm 55 drum machine.
Rumour has it that Dieters Lieder broke up because they couldn't get air time on Danish television. It might seem odd today where anyone can get their 15 minutes of fame - and maybe even more - on the internet. But in the 1980's television was the number one media when it came to gaining stardom if you were a singer or musician. In countries with only one TV channel - like Denmark was at that time - the head of music department at that one channel could therefore literally singlehandedly decide who was going to be famous and who would forever stay in oblivion.
The reason this song became a hit was because it was included in the soundtrack of a popular comedy series that Danish television bought from an independant film production company."
YouTube via attorks — April 29, 2010 — "Again I was playing around with Nodal this evening and came up with these four coherent sequences which I liked a lot. The solo and the strings were improvised on that. Three synths are used for the four sequences. At first you hear the Creamware MiniMax ASB after which the Synthesizers.com and Waldorf Q Keyboard are joining. The Waldorf performs 2 sequences. You can see the Nodal screen just before the solo is played. The solo is performed on the Clavia Nord Lead 1 and the Mellotron strings on the Roland XP-80." You can find more info on nodal in these posts.

"Completely dry as a bone right off the modular in true StereoPhonic Presto-Now Sound! Drum loops created in Numerology using Drumaxx and BFD for the sound sources. Loops triggered with an Akai APC40 just below view with Ableton Live. Then the loop audio is piped through the modular for full mangle-ation and vague-rifying.. The Korg Monopoly arpeggiator is being triggered from a Moon Modular trigger sequencer and sends pitch out to Synthesizers.com oscillators with much secret inter-patchology we cannot divulge at this time. The moon triggers are also sent to dotcom EG's, VCA's etc. MOTM440, MegaOhm Delta and Suit and Tie guy Post-Lawsuit filters are also implicated in this incident. This is the last half of the first take. Thanks to MUFFWIGGLER for pushing a bit. I LOVE fast music so expect a few of these... fast is the new medium."
"These were only released in Japan so its powered at 100-110v."
Anyone know if there were two versions of the SY-1010? This search brings up what looks like a jet black one and the more washed out almost Roland JX-10 colored ones. Is it just the lighting in the pics?
