LEPLOOP as drone synth

video upload by Keith Duncan Sound

'Hmm I think I might make an hour long video of this through the cosmos for me to fall asleep to as I like White noise and waves for sleeping, also meshuggah.

this LEPLOOP is a wee modular box in itself, I am looking forward to hooking it up to the pulsar but need to get used to its internal routing and sequencing first."

And on the other side of the spectrum:

Behringer Wasp Vintage Patches: Bass, Lead, Pluck Sound Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

"Behringer Wasp Deluxe «Analog Classics» is a collection of 50 presets: 16 Leads, 16 Basses, 18 Plucks.
It includes famous sounds that are found in many electronic tracks, from vintage to modern, musical solo timbres; retro basses that will fit into any track or performance. The patches will add uniqueness to your music, featuring the characteristic sound introduced by the Behringer Wasp Deluxe.

Plucks are excellent for use with arpeggiators or sequencers. In most examples of this category, I utilize an arpeggiator. Wasp Deluxe doesn’t have a built in arp/seq, but you may integrate your preferred arpeggiators or sequencers from your DAW or MIDI controller.

📚 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/wasp...

The presets are suitable for a variety of genres, including: ambient, electronica, IDM, deep, techno, house, progressive, trance, lounge, downtempo, funk, jazz, pop, chill out, new age, cinematic, breaks, jungle, drum and bass, dub and others.

The soundset is presented in the form of PDF-Document. Each page contains notes that explain how the patch works, what parameters are worth tweaking during playback, and how to develop the timbre during a performance.

There are audio examples of all patches inside the folder with the soundset."

Ambient jam with the Sequential Prophet Rev2, Eurorack, Sloër, and Soma Cosmos

video upload by Jay Hosking

"Please support my work on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jayhosking
A live, semi-improvised synthesizer jam performed entirely on hardware.

I went to the store to try out the Sequential Prophet Rev2 for fun, but they didn't have it set up on the floor.

"You should just take it home," the rep said. "Bring it back within 30 days if you don't want it."

So here we are, with the Prophet Rev2 at home. I love having so many voices that so easily can be panned into a binaural sound. The keybed and layout are fantastic and I just like playing it. The sound is great except when it isn't; something about the full-open filter or resonance is displeasing in a mix, though I often don't mind it on its own. Here, I made a binaural patch, with the same synth sound hard panned to left and right sides, but slight variation in the DCOs and "slop" (terrible word) leading to a very rich stereo feeling. One of those rare beautiful things you can do with only some polysynths (and software, of course).

In short, the Prophet Rev2 is a wonderful synth to explore with something of a frumpy sound, for better and for worse.

I was noodling on some chords and wanted accompaniment, so I started with the Cosmos (for some asymmetrical looping), and then took out my melodic eurorack skiff. It's been a while since I had it on the table, so it was nice just to hear these sounds again. Eurorack just leads me to places and sounds I might not otherwise find.

Ultimately, this jam came together in a day, and I'm always a little worried about those ones, because you might not like them as much the next day. So far, though, I'm pretty happy with it.

Thanks for listening.

Sequential Prophet Rev2 - pads
Walrus Sloër - reverb for Rev2
Soma Cosmos - looping for Rev2
Eurorack:
Qu-Bit Chord V2 through Endorphines Squawk Dirty to Me - organ sort of sound

4ms Ensemble Oscillator through Make Noise QPAS - hyperspace organ
Effects are described in the video, and include Happy Nerding FX Aid XL, Noise Engineering Melotus Versio and Desmodus Versio, Intellijel Multi-FX 1U
ALM Busy Circuits Pamela's New Workout - modulation for all the voices

Mellow Sunday | Mellotron Micro + Soma Cosmos

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"I recorded four jams today. Four. This one was the best, so I'll post this one. So now I have a few 'backups' which makes it easier to relax when there's a 'writers block' day. #jamuary2024 is not limited to modulars so today I decided to use one of my favorite creative combo's, the vintage Mellotron and the 21st century Soma Cosmos. I am using the R1.5 'rhythmic firmware' which is basically a looper. It has 7 modes with different timings and pitch shifts. There are three additional modes with delay, verb and grains from the original firmware. There are two versions, one with drive, and one with drive remapped to pitch shift. I always want to bring an orchestra to a gig, but leave the VST laptop at home. Mellotron is a perfect machine to add polyphonic samples while keeping the 1960's vibe and it's great to process with a modular synth. Happy Sunday!"

Diving into the Cosmos eurorack module

video upload by Stazma

"Hey there! Here is an intro of how to use the Cosmos, a pretty crazy eurorack module, a patch programming interface or platform, as I like to call it, from Black Noise Modular. It does so many things that I'm just going to show you a few that enjoyed the most.
It is a very deep and complex module but that encourage experimention by trial and error in a very nice way, there's two input and a lot of outputs to choose from.

Have fun!"

Cosmos : Universes at your fingertips
video upload by BLACK NOISE

via Black Noise Modular

"Cosmos is a new kind of module that will help you to creating complex modulation, sounds, patterns with ease and will lead you to new sounds territories.

Inspired by early analog computers, Cosmos is a unique, innovative, very flexible and fully analog module allowing it to be used as: VCO, LFO, Ring Mod, Polarizer, “VCA”, “LPG”, Phase Lock Loop, Cross-Modulation, Minimum, Maximum, Logic Gates, Waveshaper, Complex gate generator, Fuzz, Distorsion, Gate extractor, Trig extractor, Gate generator, Voltage generator, Trig Generator, comparator, window comparator, complex comparator, Half-Rectifier, Full-Rectifier, Inverter, Buffered Multiples, Mixer, Difference, Compressor, Sidechain, compressor, VC Clipper, VC Switch, Clock doubler, Envelope follower, and more.

With its wide fields of application Cosmos can replace many modules but it will also bring new colors to your palette thanks to its unique character. This makes Cosmos the ideal module whether you have a small case or a big system. 100% analog and with an intuitive interface Cosmos is also very easy to use, no menu and button combo problems.

Inspired by the past and crafted for the future, 100% analog Cosmos was not only thought to be the center of any system but also to blend perfectly with the rest of your case to form a consistent and coherent system.

Cosmos was designed not only to be a swiss army knife module but also to push you to explore and you help create new sounds and explore sonic territories that were previously unattainable."

Waldorf Q Cosmos, real time programming session

video uploads by Snupps Synth channel

Note the Prophet style knobs.

Use the player controls to skip through videos.

Playlist:

1. Waldorf Q Cosmos, real time programming session
Atmospheric, experimental real-time programming session based in one of my patches on the Waldorf Q synthesizer, that was done in one take. With only internal reverb/delay from the Q itself.
2. Cosmic Trek in search for Q (Waldorf Q synth solo)
Synth solo with one of my lead sounds on the Waldorf Q run through and amp modeling plugin, over a synth driven prog oriented groove/backing track that I made while testing out Ableton live.
3. Waldorf Q 3 OP FM demo (Sine waves)
Two sounds recorded over two tracks, modfied in real time. Both sounds are only sine waves + FM with oscillator sync being used, and one combfilter. The Q is capable of some very complex and moving sounds.
4. Waldorf Q Sand Dunes Ambient sound demo
An ambient sound demo of 4 of my Waldorf Q sounds, that I tweak and program in real-time. Only internal reverbs and effects was used.
5. Waldorf Q Realtime programming session, after the storm on planet Imit93N3
outtake from a Realtime programming session under the name, Storm on Imit93N3. This are from the last 16 minutes of that session.
6. Waldorf Q realtime Programming session 1
Realtime Programming session/Impro out of a sound i made with my newly acquired Waldorf Q.
7. Waldorf Q, Highlands
Another impro/programming session.
8. The Q album | Ambient album
A remaster and rerelease of the Waldorf Q ambient album that I made for just around one year ago. The Q album or "the leaf album" is an ambient project inspired by Hiroshi Yoshimura's Green, made only with waldorf Q sounds. The Album is available for sale at Bandcamp with better sound.

Ambient jam with the Soma Terra and Soma Cosmos

video upload by Jay Hosking

"A live, semi-improvised synthesizer jam performed entirely on hardware.

First, apologies for the change in video quality. I upgraded my camera, but some problems with the SD card led to a reversion back to 30 frames a second (I'm a big believer in 24fps). It also isn't looking quite how I want yet. I hope it's not too jarring.

Second, I got the Soma Terra. It is a joyful experience.

Some of the Soma stuff just doesn't work for me: the Lyra was always halfway to what I wanted, the Pulsar has great sounds and (for me) small sweet spots. But the Cosmos was a revelation, like something I'd always wanted but didn't know how to put into words. The Terra has a similar feeling.

The Terra is expressive and has complexity, but also is immediate to understand, musically. It's quick and easy to modify in terms of the sound engine and the notes associated with each brass button. The sound engines were a real positive surprise, with lots of warmth and musicality. The reverb and delay are good and totally useable, but not near the level of some of the dedicated pedals out there.

The Terra's not perfect for me—the number of buttons, and general layout, make it feel more like a device for solos versus a complete arrangement like guitar or piano—but it's a joy to play, and utterly unlike anything else. I wonder if Soma will iterate upon the design, make something a little more for two-handed playing. I'd also love to see diatonic transposition, though that would require some sort of way to set the scale; in the meantime, I love how fast and relatively seamless it is to switch patches (and thus switch the notes). Ultimately, I'm sitting here thinking about going back and playing the Terra some more, and that's always a fantastic sign.

Thanks for listening.

Moog Mother32 - "Cosmos" Soundset (32 Patches)

video upload by LFOstore

https://lfo.store/

"LFO Store presents a revolutionary soundset for Moog Mother-32 - a semi-modular monophonic analog synthesizer! A feature of this bank is the use of non-standard modulation techniques with the mixture of external audio noise effects (samples). Therefore, very interesting sounds are obtained, which are suitable for both classical electronic music and experimental styles.

In this soundbank you will find completely different settings - from long and atmospheric drone effects, short plucks, catchy leads and even pads that can be layered for a bright analog sound! Each patch is sketched in detail and accompanied by a description of the preferred modulation parameters and the external sounds used. These patches will be very handy for both live performances and studio work.

This year, our team has implemented the Analog 2023 Series project and has already created several hundred patches for analog synthesizers such as Wasp, Cat, Neutron and others. Thus, we have accumulated considerable experience in creating quality products for analog synthesizers. This soundset is suitable for both professionals who are interested in improving their skills, and beginners, who just started their first sound design steps.

The product pack contains:

♪ The booklet in .pdf format with high quality pictures of every of 32 hand-crafted patches created by the well-known sound designers, Otto K. Schwarz;
♪ Audio Examples of each patch in .mp3 format;
♪ External audio samples in .wav format."
