GRADIENTS - AMBIENT MODULAR [ DECKARD'S VOICE- 4MS ENSEMBLE OSCILLATOR - QUBIT SURFACE ]

video upload by leonardoworx

"I made this ambient tune with the idea to establish a dialogue between the Black Corporation Deckard's Voice, 4MS Ensemble Oscillator and the Qu-Bit Surface.

PATCH NOTES:
Deckard's Voice and the Surface are sequenced and triggered by Pam's New Workout (that also shares the clock to the entire system), while the Ensemble is sequenced by Hermod.
Divkid Ochd modulate various parameters of the Ensemble, QPAS, Mimeophon and Surface.

Effects Chains:
Deckard's Voice - Mimeophon
Ensemble OSC - QPAS - Z5000
Surface - Disting EX (granulator) - Mimeophon

Plus other few modulations from Pam's and Xaoc Zadar (with the D Channel in cycle) Hope you like :)"

Two by Four //Subharmonicon/Mother 32/Plaits/Rings/Tides/Mimeophon/Magneto//

video upload by Aleatoric Machine

"The fun part about this patch is that all of the pitch sequencing comes from the Moog Subharmonicon. Including the bass line. Subharmonicon starts doing its thing with the two four note sequences. It goes through Make Noise Mimeophon to double up the polyrhythm pattern. Mutable Instruments Rings follows the pitch of sequence one, while Mutable Instruments Plaits (in a Rings-ish voice) follows sequence two. Moog Mother 32 samples and holds a pitch from sequence two at random intervals. Both sequences run into Expert Sleepers Disting mk4 in min/max mode. Mutable Instruments Tides and Make Noise STO double up on the base line, which is the min value of the two sequences, periodically switching to the max value (when it sounds like it goes to the 4 chord). The overall mix sequencing is handled by Malekko Voltage Block, with 2x Make Noise Maths controlling the slow fade between settings.

Also starring Intellijel Steppy sequencing Mosaic drum modules, XAOC Zadar and Qu-Bit Chance for modulation, Mutable Instruments Stages for some LFOs, Strymon Magneto on Plaits, and Chase Bliss Mood and Happy Nerding FX Aid on Mother 32."

Cosmotronic Peradam eurorack overdrive

video upload by John Schussler

"The Peradam is an overdrive module with a unique architecture: rather than just overdriving the signal into a square wave, it makes a copy of the source audio and then manipulates it to modulate the original signal.

If you really want to understand how it works, the architecture diagram in the manual is probably your best bet. tl;dr: it's complicated.

But you don't have to understand how it works to move the knobs and sliders and get interesting results. That's basically what this video is: me moving around knobs and sliders to get a basic feel for what kind of sounds the module makes.

Source audio: SE Oscillation. Sequence: Stochastic IG. Envelope: Zadar.

00:20 Sweeps
03:20 Sequence, drive off
07:45 Drive on
13:28 Square wave, sub

Setonix Synth and Bastl Dual Filters

video upload by John Schussler

"I've already looked at the Setonix Synth Marsupial. Really liked it, and was accordingly quick to order the Macropod when it became available. At about the same time I got ahold of an Ikarie from Bastl.

Between the three of them, I have a hard time choosing a favorite, and all are definitely keepers.

This is a short comparison to get a feel for their respective sounds. I'm not spending a lot of time on the Marsupial since I already covered it (see link in description/above), but do want it here so I can have a clear ear on how it differs from Macropod.

Source VCO is a Dannysound Cali Osc. Envelope from Zadar. Sequence from Stochastic IG. And a touch of Valhalla reverb at the end.

03:44 Macropod

8hp Eurorack Filters

video upload by

"So you have 8hp available, and want to fill it with a filter. Here are some options. They aren't all the options, there are many, many more. But a few new 8hp filters have arrived recently (the XAOC, CCTV, and SetonixSynth), so it seemed like a good time to compare them with some other 8hp filters I have close at hand. For the most part I'll be listening to low pass outputs only.

Source audio is an Intellijel Dixie II+, with a mix of several waves. Envelope is from Zadar. Sequence from Stochastic SIG. A touch of Halls of Vallhalla reverb at the end.

00:20 Zagrzeb
09:52 Filther
17:14 Marsupial

Cre8Audio - Chipz dual VCO

video upload by John Schussler

"This is a general overview of the Cre8Audio Chipz.

It's a lo-fi VCO inspired by early video game sound generators. But that sortof undersells it...it's got lots of character baked in.

Each voice is independent. The first has a filter, the second a "duty cycle" control (aka PWM for a square wave, but in this case for more than just that).

The LFO can be reset, which is great for synching modulation to a clock (sadly I didn't get around to demoing that here).

Nothing else here but the Chipz and a little reverb at the end. Envelope by Zadar. Sequence by Stochastic IG.

00:00 Intro
00:20 VCO 1
02:43 VCO 2
04:14 LFO
07:00 Sequence
08:42 Envelope to filter
09:33 Envelope to VCA
11:00 Wiggle wiggle
14:40 Both VCOs, a fifth apart
17:18 Both VCOs, octaves"

"'It's not a clone, it's a replica!'

A clone is a hardware that is made differently, with different parts and technology (SMD, OpAmp etc.) than older devices, but should sound similar. And sometimes does not sound so similar. The RE-303 ist something different, it is a replica. That means (with few exceptions) the original parts are used and also the mounting technology. In consequence there is no manual, because you can use the original manual. from the internet :)

Creating such a replica is done in handwork, because the electronic factories use more modern technology mostly. In result the device sounds like an original TB-303, I can notice the phasey trippy deepness in it, while clones are a bit shallow. But you don't have to maintain a decades old device and everything is still robust and durable.

This piece is as far as one can get to a real TB-303 because it also uses a replica of the CPU. Not all DinSync RE-303 replicas do this. (It is a sunflowr/recpu that is a replica of the CPU firmware with the same usage. More original than other choices, also in the quirks.).

The color is black and the LEDs are green, the housing is made of metal.

I used it in almost every track, but times are hard for musicians these days.

You can hear it in action in my latest tracks. Almost all have it somewhere, if there's a 303 inside, it's this unit."

62HP EP5: 4 Voice iPad Sequenced Synth

video by Perfect Circuit

"This 62HP system is a four voice synthesizer with effects that is designed to be sequenced by an iPad with USB, but you could sequence it with any USB midi.

The synth voice is made with the Recovery Effects Jupiter Spirits quad VCO, an Intellijel Morgasmatron dual filter, XAOC Zadar quad envelope/function generator and two Intellijel 1U Dual VCAs for 4 VCAs total. There are two effects modules, the WMD/SSF DPLR dual delay and the Erica Synths Dual FX which has two DSP effect channels. The USB to CV is handled by the Noise Engineering Univer Iter. The iPad is used to both sequence the four synth voices with the Fuge Machine app, and to create the drums with Ruismaker.

62HP EP3: Small Synth + Sampler

Perfect Circuit

Perfect Circuit 62HP posts

"Episode 3 of 62HP is here! For this system we built a small single voice synth designed to make one sound at a time and combined it with an Elektron Digitakt. This allows you to sample a bunch of sounds into the Digitakt and then sequence a live voice on the synth and make a full song.

The system includes uses a Make Noise STO and ALM MCO as oscillators, the MCO can be used as a noise generator as well. We used an Aion 904A lowpass filter which is based on the Moog Modular filter, for VCAs we used a WMD DVCA (great for drums) and a Plankton Nutone which can also be used as a tube distortion. The Zadar gives us all of the envelopes we need, an Erica Pico DSP gives us some effects and mixing can be done with the Malekko Mix and Intellijel Quadratt. The Elektron Digitakt doesn't fit in the eurorack case but is an important part of this system since it provides the ability to sample the synth and then sequence it with midi.

New bpd complex sound generator for eurorack modular systems

Published on Jun 13, 2019 ***pangrus***

Playlist:
bpd - raw as hell
bpd in vca with short envelope
bpd controlled by complex CV
bpd and Zadar

"bpd is open hardware and raw as hell

bpd is a complex voice for eurorack modular systems developed by Pangrus (Kinetik
Laboratories).

Despite the apparent simplicity, this module deliver a wide sound palette.

Although sound repeatability can be achieved, the circuit nature encourages the user toward an aleatoric sound design process.

By tuning the three cross-modulated oscillators timbral metamorphosis with complex

variations in tone and granularity can be accomplished.

Here you can find the github page with schematics and production files:

https://github.com/pangrus/bpd

In this video you can hear the bpd raw sound with some knobs wiggling. Enjoy.

XAOC Devices Zadar, Batumi, Belgrad And More

Published on Mar 21, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"We put together a whole system of XAOC Devices modules including the new Zadar quad envelope generator, two Belgrad filters that can be used as interesting oscillators when self oscillating, and a Kamieniec phase shifter. We also used a Batumi, Drezno and Tirana II for sequencing and modulation. The SSF Entity Percussion Synthesizer provides some drums.

The new Zadar is a powerful digital quad envelope generator with many different envelope shapes that can be warped and modulated. The Zadar can even run at high enough frequencies to be used as a kind of odd wavetable oscillator.

XAOC modules available here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/xaoc-d..."
