Roland System 700 Block SN 72083

"Up for auction is one incredibly rare Roland system 700 block 6 modular synth piece. Block 6 is the Interface Frequency-to-Voltage converter plus Envelope Follower plus Schmidt Trigger and is augmented by a sixth VCA, a versatile MultiMode Filter, and a 9-input Audio mixer. This unit is NOS new old stock and has never been used in fact the case it comes in has only been opened twice in the last thirty two years. Once in 1980 when purchased and now.
As you can see by the photos it is in truly in perfect condition not a scratch or blemish to be found. I've bought and sold many vintage analog synths over the years but I have never come across a system 700 and to find a piece that has never been used is incredible. The materials parts and craftsmanship are outstanding it's easy to see why Roland in the late 70s early 80s were second to none. The only issue I can see is since it is a modular piece I have no way of testing its operation. But as stated with the fact that it has never been used and the quality of Roland back then I dought there would be a problem This is a museum piece the scarcity of which I'm really not even quite sure of it is rumored that roland only sold apox fifty full systems and for that reason is hard to place a value on. The last full system sold close to 40 thousand dollars. Please email with any questions System 700 Facts Made from 1976-1982 Full system weighs over 350lbs in case Originally cost over 16000 dollars Full system has 9 oscillators"

Looks very clean overall, front is in perfect shape. Lightly used in my smoke free home studio. This thing sounds awesome, very fun hands on piece of gear with some incredible filtering for drums, guitar, vocals, bass, synths and entire mixes. It sounds great on anything! Alesis A6 Andromeda

"Up for auction is The ultimate polyphonic analog synthesizer - the Alesis A6 Andromeda. In a world filled with “almost-analog” and “sort-of-analog” synthesizers, Andromeda is the real deal: a high-performance instrument fueled by true analog synth technology. In a single, powerful package you’ll find a huge range of tonal possibilities: searing leads, warm pads, fat bass lines, extreme sound effects and more. With Andromeda you can get all these sounds simultaneously, while enjoying the creative control to reach out, grab knobs and instantly reshape Andromeda’s mind-blowing sonics.

Some of the Key Features include...

Real Analog Powerhouse

Andromeda’s fully analog signal path is controlled by a high-speed Motorola Coldfire microprocessor, offering 16-voice polyphony with 16-part multitimbral capability. Andromeda features two analog oscillators per voice, with standard waveforms (available simultaneously), suboscillators, hard and soft sync, and more. It provides two analog filters per voice: these 2-pole (multimode) and 4-pole (lowpass) resonating filters are classically-derived designs, and offer you an astounding range of sonic variability.

Andromeda also provides external audio inputs that allow you to route any signal through its filters. Andromeda has three LFOs, each with six waveforms and many powerful features. It also has three 7-stage, 3-level envelopes capable of functions never before found in any analog synthesizer. An extensive mod matrix offers you an enormous freedom in configuring Andromeda’s sonic firepower, adding to its monstrous capabilities.
In-Depth Control of Your Sound

Andromeda’s 61-note synth-weighted keypad features velocity and aftertouch sensitivity, and its ribbon controlled offers multiple, assignable functions. A distinctive, futuristic front panel features 72 knobs and 114 buttons (the majority are single function), optimally arranged for rapid-fire tweaking and in-depth experimentation. Andromeda’s large, backlit LCD display provides real-world values of parameters (time, frequency, BPM, etc.) and high-resolution graphics. No other synth has ever offered such a sophisticated, informative control panel for creating analog pyrotechnics."

"Here is a first video of a series of demos for the PMF. The patch featured is a SawTooth OSC, with another OSC tuned -1 OCT. Basic LP filter, Mixer, and VCA.

For the 1st scene a MIDI file is used from Megaman games.
The 2nd scene the SawTooth is Viewed on the Oscilloscope while using the keyboard briefly.
The same for the 3rd scene I was seeing some nice Oscilloscope results.
The 4th scene a MIDI file from the Zelda games was used.
Finally the 5th scene is more ARP fun from built in Ableton, as well as the Scale plugin. This is followed by a brief peak of the TNR-I app (TenoriON) 16 Ch MIDI sequencer.

ArdCore Cartesian 4x4 Step Sequencer

Published on Dec 1, 2012 by chisel316
Gets going at 2:14.

"This is a demonstration of a 4x4 step sequencer I created for the Snazzy FX ArdCore Eurorack module. The top left knob sets the X position, the top right knob sets the Y position, the bottom left knob sets the CV at the X,Y position, the CLK input (yellow patch) advances the X step and the A3 input (green patch) advances the Y step. In the first part, I use both knobs on the 8nu8r to advance through the X and Y steps manually while programming the sequences. In the second part, I plug the X and Y clocks into the ES-3 which is acting as a clock divider sending out gates in 1 to 8 steps. For example, by patching the X clock into output 1 and the Y clock into output 4 the sequencer advances through all 16 steps in order. Hope you enjoy it!"

TB303 & TT303 Bass Bot Video Comparisons

Published on Dec 1, 2012 by Bonnline

"TB & TT comparison. OK what can I say? Well the TT is value for money v the price of a TB. If you own a TB you will notice the slight differences but man that TT is impressive. The bass end blows the TB away but the TB still has those strange idiosyncrasies that that TT just can't quite replicate albeit it does come very close - only a TB owner will notice this. The TT certainly sends the x0xb0x to third place! Build quality is just like a new original, the tunning-accent pots are higher thus easier to turn but may feel a little wobbly for it!! I think TB owners will be shocked at how good it is = I was!. The tunes you hear are both identical but my TB double fires (sticky button syndrome!)... aha! but this is part of the TBs power - you get a different tune to what you had originally planned. The TB303 is the master but he has shown the TT the way ;-)"

Arduino Video Tutorials & the Standuino

Published on Oct 1, 2012 by rswwwchannel

Playlist below. This set of videos focuses on the Arduino.  Remember you can use the controls at the bottom of the player to skip through the videos.  For those not familiar with the Arduino, it's an open source micro-controller that you can use to create any number of things synth related or not as you can see in some of these video.    As for Standuino "Standuino started as a clone board of popular Arduino but adapted to even more DIY approach of eastern region (=bastl). With this powerful tool it became part of many art installations and enabled our research team to build prototypes of many different devices most importantly musical instruments. The whole concept of Standuino is inspired and covered by the story of a pioneer of media art – Standa Filip. The name Standuino goes mainly from Standas name but also stands for what Standuino is best at – the standalone applications."

The following is the description for the first video:
"Subscribe and find out more about the new Arduino Starter Kit at http://ow.ly/e3WVr (remember to select your country).

The video explains how to build a basic circuit with the Arduino board, and how to use each of the basic components such as LEDs, switches, and resistors. So if you are new to engineering, or have only recently purchased the Arduino started kit, this video is a must-watch!"
