AudioCubes MIDIBridge 3.0 Now Available

via Bert Schiettecatte in the Percussa newsletter:

"I have some good news: MIDIBridge 3.0 is now available for Mac and PC, as well as the new firmware update which you will need to use this new software update!

I've decided to write up a combined "what's new" and high level manual for this MIDIBridge update, just to make sure you know what each part of MIDIBridge does and how it works. I've also included an explanation of the new Topology mode for MIDIBridge. I hope you enjoy the new MIDIBridge and firmware update! It has been a labour of love for the last couple of years.

Alright, enough talking. Head over to the blog post which has all the details including how to download the new update!

Please get in touch if you have any questions or find any bugs :-) I'm available on Facebook, LinkedIn or via email at bert@percussa.com."

Spirits Of The Temple Electric - ForbiddenPlaces

"And another in this series. This one is more just an exploration of manually manipulating various parameters of the Modcan 58B digital oscillator while watching the oscilloscope. By using both the normal and 90 degree quadrature outputs of the Modcan 58B VCDO into the X and Y inputs of an oscilloscope so interesting patterns were discovered. Strymon BigSky reverb pedal featured.

I have a quick overview of how I make these videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHW5I... [below]

I made a video playlist that contains all videos in this series in order of creation chronologically: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list..." [below]

Spirits Of The Temple Electric - Secrets Revealed -

Uploaded on Dec 13, 2009 John L Rice

"I created this video so people wondering how I created this series of videos would have at least a general idea of what took place. Definitely not a step by step tutorial but maybe enough to inspire you to try it yourself. I encourage you to stay vigilant for "happy accidents" and go with the flow of what happens, since this whole series came out of something totally unexpected! :-)"

Building a Sequencer with the World's First Personal Computer

via giorgiosancristoforo.net where you'll find the full post.

Giorgio Sancristoforo is the man behind Berna.

"So here is the idea: in the video episodes that I will post here, I will learn assembly, refresh my Basic knowledge, and start programming and connecting the Altair to a modern PC/Mac to transform the Altair into a digital sequencer (linear and/or generative).

The first part of this musical quest is to make the Altair communicate with MaxMSP software by Cycling74, so I will be able to build both standalone programs and MIDI software interfaces, later I will try to make some tests with Processing.

Next I’d like to interface the Altair with Arduino and see if I can manage to work to a prototype board+software to sequence Control Voltages for the Buchla Music Easel analog synthesizer. The Easel’s programming cards are the ideal interface for the task. Any help, comments and critics from retrocomputing and assembly lovers, is more than welcome." R.A.Moog 901b osc comparisons with hand-built unit...

Published on Feb 16, 2015 noddyspuncture

"Here is my *comparison video* comparing my own hand-built 901b with an original R.A.Moog oscillator. It also turned a demo of my Modular - explaining how my custom switching between mixer channels works. I'm really pleased with my home-built unit... for all intents and purposes, it sounds exactly like my other 901b oscillators... all four of which each have their own sound anyway..! See what you think..!? Sound is recorded direct from my live sub-mix set up."
