Circuit Bending Makeshop at Seattle's Metrix Create:Space
via Metrix Create:Space where you'll find a number of interesting make events, not just circuit bending and electronics. Be sure to see the rest of the site for more diy ranging from snow flakes to cool Valentine's Day cards to gravity powered, gear driven clocks.
On the Circuit Bending Makeshop:
"We are also super excited to announce another new Makeshop (see the flier at the top) in Circuit Bending. For $40, you will be led by an experienced circuit bender to mod your electronic toy (for $5 you can get a toy to mod if you don’t have one.). We will provide components."
On a general electronics workshop:
"Sunday, February 13 2-4:30pm is our popular Intro to Electronics workshop. For $50, you learn the basics of using simple electronic components. This is the best starting point for making all of those projects you’ve seen in Make: Magazine."

Machinedrum Tracks via jmyhrman
YouTube via jmyhrman
Playlist:
myhrman - machinedrum + ableton jam 2009-07-17
"One of my first live jams with the Elektron Machinedrum and Ableton live. Trying to improve my very limited live jamming skills. This is a single pattern playing in machinedrum and a single scene playing in Live. MD does the drums and ableton does the rest."
myhrman - machinedrum jam 2009-07-20
"A techno / minimal jam using only the machinedrum sps-1 UW MKII. Not so much tweaking going on, just some basic muting/unmuting of parts in beginning, then playing with distortion and delay feedback. Recorded straight out of the MD."
myhrman - machinedrum + access virus B jam 2009-07-21
"Jamming around with a house tune created using only machinedrum and access virus B desktop. I'm still just playing around with a single pattern each time I jam. I should learn to switch between patterns soon =) Memory card in camera became full around 4:30 mark, hence the lack of video there."
myhrman - minimal jam 2010-07-04
"A jam session with my Machinedrum, Monomachine and Virus. Minimal techno / house / dub / whatever."
http://soundcloud.com/jmyhrman/myhrman-jam-2010-07-04
"A quick jam session with machinedrum, monomachine and virus. Had a nice pattern going and couldn't be bothered to arrange a track out of it. Captured the jam session with my iPhone instead.
I had to hold the phone with my left hand, so couldn't really do anything advanced (==press function key) during the performance. Mostly muting/unmuting of tracks."

Synthesizer Programming Book
via this auction
"This book is long out of print- incredibly hard to find! Inside you'll find 111 pages on how to get the most out of your synth! The first part of the book is dedicated to synthesizers and what makes them work. Part two is comprised of synth 'clinics'- DX-7, Oberheim Xpander, CZ-101, JX8P+, & JX10 synths are discussed here. Part 3 delves into the finer parts of synth programming- from frequency cutoffs to pitch control to voltage regulation."
KORG DW-8000 on the cover.
Mad Max Juno-6
"Previous owner sanded the paint off.....??? Looks like a MADMAX Synth now... The low F sticks sometimes......missing one slider cap..... Other than that, its a fully functional synth!
So it comes on the cheap....."

Club of The Knobs C 912 Envelope Follower Now Shipping

Club of The Knobs C 940 Dual Headphone Amplifier Now Shipping
"2-channel headphone amplifier, 2 audio inputs with level controls, common loudness/master level control, 2 headphone stereo outputs.
this module contains a tuned A-440 Hz reference oscillator, on/off switch and level pot for adding to the outputs."
http://www.cluboftheknobs.com
Club of The Knobs C906a Low Pass Gate Now Shipping
"The module C 906A contains a voltage controlled low pass filter unit with a slope of -30dB/oct and two voltage controlled amplifiers in a chain.
The filter unit has a controller for the resonance (regeneration) which can be tuned until self oscillation.
With the switch "Return On" it is possible to lead parts of the output signal back to the filter which allows very deep bass - even until distortion.
With the switch named "VCF F/A" it is possible to link either only the VCF signal or the filer and amplifier signal to the output jack.
The filter has two control inputs. If the filter is tuned to self-oscillation, the input "V/Oct." enables to play the filter as a tuned sinus oscillator.
The left control input is internally connected with the left control input of the VCA. When plugging in a patch cord, this connection is cancelled and the VCA awaits an external control signal.
The "+2nd" input is always open. When plugging in a patch cord, then it can only be opened by an external control signal.
The "Main Out" pot controls the volume of the output sum."

Club of The Knobs C 962C Voltage Controlled Sequential Switch
"The C 962C is the follower of the c 962B with an additional option that enables the control of the module by control voltage.
The additional switch with 3 positions allows different modi:
Postion (Gate):
by selecting this, the C 962C operates as the C 962B did (see description) - yet the order of the control lamps and in/out jacks is different.
Position "Clamp #1":
the module is fixed on channel 1, despite any other external connections.
Position "CV":
Via CV-IN jack it is now possible to select the individual channels directly with control voltages.
Factory settings (changeable):
0V = no channel active
1V = Channel 1 active
2V = Channel 2 active
3V = Channel 3 active
4V = Channel 4 active.
It is possible to put the values for switching up or down.
With this feature - to control the modul with control voltage (for example deriving from a sequencer or keyboard) - exciting new patterns for switching are possible."

Drumfire DF-500 (5-channel Analogue Drum Synth)
via this auction
"Drumfire DF-500. This is a 5 channel drum synth module. The 5 channels are identical, with their own Trigger-In and Audio Out sockets. Each channel is a mini analogue synth drum module, capable of producing a wide range of electronic drum sounds, and since every parameter is defined by a knob, it's highly tweakable. The 5 drum channels also have their own level and pan pots, and the signals are mixed to a pair of stereo outputs with Left/Right volume control."

din drones
din drones demo from dinja on Vimeo.
"din is a free software musical instrument that runs on the GNU/Linux OS. Make music with just your mouse and keyboard. It also supports JACK, OSC & MIDI.
din uses Bezier curves for almost all aspects of sound production --> waveforms, FM & AM, envelopes, drones and FX.
In this demo we create 143 drones -- initially only on the key note, 4th and 5th notes but soon on all the microtones in-between. You can edit drones in bunches, change their levels, timbre and pitch all in realtime.
Scale: C Eb E F G Bb C (Raga Jog)
Key note: C
Download din at dinisnoise.org/
Follow me on Twitter: twitter.com/al_dinja
On Facebook search for Al Dinja
Audio quality is better live because there is no audio artifacts due to video making, syncing & conversion; you can also resize the din board --> make it taller for more volume levels & have wider spaces between notes for more microtones.
Every pixel on the din board is a tone. Notes are tones too :)"

Blacet Research to Release MOTM/Synth Tech Modules
via the Blacet mailing list:
"Hi All:
I've had the opportunity to check out some of Synthesis Technology's new DSP modules. They are nice and compact, have interesting features hard to implement in a totally analog fashion and they sound very nice.
E340 Cloud Generator
E350 Morphing Terrarium
E560 Deflector Shield
E580 Resampling Mini-Delay
http://www.analoguehaven.com/synthesistechnology/
http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2011/01/20/wnamm11-synthesis-technology/
Paul has had the foresight to include a MOTM/Blacet power connector on each board as well as the Euro connector. The size is also quite adaptable to the Frac footprint.
We have an opportunity to offer these in fully assembled Frac format. These are mainly surface mount and would be 90% assembled by Synthesis Technology's supply chain with the front panel assembly, testing etc performed by Blacet.
I don't expect to stock these in a normal manner due to minimum batch sizes and the complexities of an external vendor. The plan at this point is to make a small run of each module spaced out during 2011 based on advance orders.
The E350, which will be the F350, will be the first to be offered. Expected ship date is 4-1-2011. Look for an order link on our store page in a few days.
Any other feedback is, of course appreciated.
John Blacet"
