AudioThing SX1500 - Virtual Jen SX-1000
"Analog Synth Emulation for Kontakt 4.2.2
In the lab, for years, covered by other instruments and things, there was this old Italian analog synthesizer from 1979: the Jen SX1000. Monophonic with just 1 oscillator, it was often called “poor man’s Moog”. It is always hard to sample analog gears so, instead of trying to clone it (which is obviously impossible for a sampler), we decided to use the samples of each waveform to build an hybrid synthesizer taking advantage of the Kontakt Script language. It sounds both vintage and new! It is also possible to drift the oscillators to emulate the tuning problems of vintage analog synthesizers and to hear the usual knobs noise caused by dust while tweaking them. The Performance View follows the original parameters scheme adding, of course, new features."

Thelonius Bostik demonstrates the White Star 750 vintage analog synthesizer
YouTube Uploaded by TheloniusBostik on Apr 23, 2011
"The White Star 750 analog synthesizer was originally marketed by Carlsberg in 1969. It featured Twin Sub-Frequency Oscillators, Theramin Infinity Coil, Impasse Filters, and a 7 Phase Counter-Culture Pig Illuminator Switch.
Thelonius Bostik is blessed to own the world's only surviving operational example.
In the accompanying film, Thelonius gets himself totally wasted before performing; it is the first time in almost four decades that the instrument has been heard publicly.

jomox mbase 11 analog kick drum synth
"Here’s some stuff from the Jomox site: 'The MBase11 can do only one thing, but it does it right: Phat kick drums!
It generates analog bass drums, from extremely powerful to soft and covers the whole range from 909-style to 808-fashioned. And much more...the LFO has 8 different waveforms including true sine that can be used to create very different envelopes. The resulting sounds are not simply *kicks*...this turns out to be a bass drum *synthesizer*.
Casio VZ-1 keyboard synthesizer
"Velocity and aftertouch sensitive - quite a nice keyboard to play
3 mod wheels - 1 for pitch, 1 for LFO pitch mod, 1 freely assignable but to a limited range of options, e.g. portamento time etc
Comes with original owners manual (which is a little dog-eared on the front cover)
Also comes with an external ROM card (extra 64 presets, plus 64 Op Mem presets)
Also comes with Casio dust cover and standard power cable kettle lead
64 internal user patches
64 internal Operation Memory user patches (combinations, splittable keyboard, stacked, stereo layered patches etc)
64 card ROM presets
64 card ROM Op Mem presets
8 oscillators per voice, each with their own envelopes, pitches, mods and choice of waveforms, can be used individually or set into 4 lots of pairs for ring / phase / external phase modulation
16 voices
4 part multi-timbral / splittable / stackable either internally or over MIDI
Capable of enormously 'phat' sounds that evolve - very digital sounding, but in a good way
In numerous respects it is technically more capable than a DX-7, but although Casio targeted their VZ range at the DX market, the two are quite different sounding in practice. I have both and love both, neither is a pale imitation of the other.
Note that there is no filter in the conventional analogue style sense, but you can create excellent sounding digital filter effects using careful oscillator programming.
Neither is there an arpeggiator or in-built multi-effects - this is an old school, serious 'pure' synth...

Dirty Electronics Mute Records Synth (Depeche Mode)
"unused and brand new Dirty Electronics Mute Synth, Sold exclusively at the Mute Records Short Circuit Festival, The Roundhouse London 13-14 May 2011.
The Synth is strictly limited to 50 Copies and was commissioned by Mute Records and special made for the event where it was sold out. A 4xA4 Manual/Documentation will be included. The size of the Synth is circa 18x11 cm...
'The Mute Synth is a hand-held touch and tilt instrument with copper etched artwork and
contoured printed circuit board that was designed in collaboration with Mute and
graphic designer Adrian Shaughnessy. The instrument brings together many Dirty
Electronics aesthetics and instrument designs into one device in particular creating an
instrument ‘of the hand’ (in terms of both playing and building), a noise-based device
that utilises feedback, and exploring the relationship between artwork and circuit board.
Mute Synth is controlled by using the conductivity of the human body to complete the
instrument’s circuit when the copper etching is touched. There are touch ‘points’ on both sides
of the circuit board, and the instrument is designed to be played with thumbs and fingers.
Two tilt switches on different planes allow for gestural control of the sequencer. Pulsating
brilliant white noise and grunge in the hand!'"

doubledekka slider demo
YouTube Uploaded by sduck409 on May 16, 2011
"A quickly made sloppy video that was made by request - just to show off the sliders on the DoubleDekka VCO and their effect on the sound. I managed to figure out how to do picture in picture in final cut express for this, but still haven't figured out lots of other things, so it's pretty basic. The shots of my scope were made with my flip camera, which was hanging in a hastily arranged contraption, so forgive the wobbliness at the beginning. And my 21$ scope either isn't very good at this sort of thing, or I don't really know how to use it right, or both, so again, forgive the way the waveforms jump around. The sound was recorded direct into the computer, so at least it's done fairly well."
Modified Toys Are Us

The Modified Toy Orchestra are exactly as they're described: A group that uses modified toys as musical instruments. Led by Brian Duffy, the British band taps the musical potential hidden in discarded toys, producing varying and novel electronic soundscapes.
The Orchestra's motif is to use toys that have been discarded and to never pay more than one pound for it. The band boasts a repository of old toys including a 30-year-old Touch & Tell and a rare Hula Barbie. Before delving full-time into toys, Duffy worked as a sound artist producing music for bands and installations, and even created a device that converts starlight into music.
Prior to their Asian premiere in Hong Kong, the band was invited to host a series of workshops at the Polytechnic University to reveal the secrets behind toy modification."

This is a completed Version of Jabdah by a fan (user Pelorcitos) with images of Star Wars.
Koto is an Italian synth pop group that originally consisted of Anfrando Maiola and Stefano Cundari, later with Michiel van der Kuy too. Their most popular songs were "Visitors", "Dragon's Legend", "Chinese Revenge" and "Jabdah", released in 1983-1988. Koto is often associated with a genre of music called Spacesynth, a music style streamed from Space Disco. Unfortunately, it has been reported that Stefano Cundari died some time between 1991 and 1992 from a brain tumor."
