"Just a little modular synth messing around. Have this fonik sequential switch pretty much built, need a panel for it. Apologies for fan in the backgrond and general shoddy iphone cameraman skill. Couple things I din't mention - that toggle down there is to select 2,3, or 4 steps for it to sequence through - set to 4 for this vid. It's more or less just like an a-151 with the addition of manual step and manual reset buttons. Also - in the patch the envelator is what is actually opening the borg. (and the also-clocked noisering is playing just a little with the envelator decay...)"

"Custom LED Mod: We have replaced the green Group B and the red Sawtooth and Chorus II LEDs with blue ones; this makes for a great custom look, and gives better visual indication of what is presently active than panels with all red or all blue LEDs.

Audio Input Mod: We have added an audio input circuit, to allow the gorgeous Juno chorus effect to process external audio. But instead of drilling holes in this piece of vintage gear, we have done it in a way that is 100% non-destructive and reversible. The Patch Shift jack has been disabled, and has been instead used for the audio input. (The Patch Shift function is probably not used by most players; it is a simple process to reverse this mod if desired. The jack has not been re-labeled, to keep everything original.) Plugging an audio signal into this jack routes it through the high-pass filter, the VCA Level, and the stereo chorus, and it sounds fabulous! Note that the audio does not route through the low-pass filter, so you cannot do resonant filter things. Unlike some synth mods, you do not need to press a key to use the audio input - simply send the signal in, and it is present at the Juno's outputs. You can play the keyboard along with the external audio if you like."

"The Univox JR5 was introduced in the 70s and is one of the originals (they later became Korg and this was also the Korg Pee Wee later on). I don't have an old speaker jack which is what this requires so I can'r hear it, but the light does flash to the downbeat as was advertised.
"Has push buttons in black & red depending upon which beat you choose


Beats or tempos are as follows:
Ballad/Waltz; Cha Cha/ Mambo; Latin Beat/ Bossanova; Rock 1/Rock 2; Polka/Foxtrot"
I believe there are 17 separate beats when settings used in combination."

"Here's a video [image posted here] that I've just done of the micromac prototype loaded into a 3U Eurorack housing- Featured with it is the MacBeth X-Series Dual SV Filter- they make an interesting match! At times there is plenty of 'ah yah ah yah ah yah' sounds! Two oscillators were taken from the micromac and plugged into the Dual SV- the Vortex prototype pvides us with LFO modulation here!
Apologies for the indistinct talking through this one- toothache!! has set in! Anyway- I hope you enjoy this pure analogue example of synth stuff!"

"Studio version of a live set I devised for a perfornance at Modularis Leeds (3-3-12).

Track is entirely analogue modular, except for my trusty Radel digital tabla which provides beats and a clock. Din Sync DrumDokta sequenced by Modcan Touch sequencer provide the other beats. Res-4 "choir" and E350 on drone duties. QMMG does dirty things to an audio feed from the Radel and PlagueBearer sings in the breakdown. Lead is played on an Eowave ribbon controller.

"Hi :) This is a short patch demo video of Jupiter-8 in split mode with patch 34 in both the U and L section. Each patch is programmed with slightly different VCF and VCA Env settings.
Also I am playing the first minute of Rush's 'Subdivisions". It is not a full cover as I am playing just the first minute of "Subdivisions" to feature Jupiter's massive sound, in split mode.
In split mode, Jupiter-8 is divided into 2, 4-voice synth sections.

"The last few weeks I have been trying to make a video. Did many takes resulting in 3 takes which were acceptable but I was not convinced that one of the three was good enough. So this evening I decided to do something completely different which resulted in this improvisation. And I did this in 1 take.
The video begins with two 8-step sequences: one sequence on row 2 of the Doepfer MAQ16/3 which is driving the self-built Modular and one sequence on the Synthesizers.com Q960 which is driving the Rob Hordijk OSC HRM and the Ian Fritz Teezer Through-Zero VCO connected to the Blacet Miniwave. The bass is performed on the Clavia Nord Lead 1, the Mellotron strings sound is played on the Roland XP-80 and the Wurlitzer piano sound on the Waldorf Q Keyboard. Later on a 4 step sequence from row 1 of the MAQ16/3 driving the Creamware MiniMax ASB joins.

The video is filmed by my girlfriend Anne using my iPhone 4.
