SOMA Laboratory LYRA-4 Sounds

Published on Sep 22, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The SOMA LYRA-4 is a four voice synthesizer with touch plate triggers for controlling the volume of each voice. It has multiple routing modes so that it can be used as an organ, drone synth, frequency modulation synth or crazy frequency modulation feedback machine. There is also a complex LFO, and the sound is routed through a delay and distortion. The delay can also be used as a fifth voice and can even modulate itself."

Using Moog Mother 32 like a lo-fi Drum machine

Published on Sep 22, 2017

"With this patch I try to use the Moog Mother 32 (Analog semi modular mono synth with sequencer) like a very lofi Drum Machine.

The key of this kind of patch is to use the Kb output to modulate the mixer between Vco and the noise . Like that, when you play the bass note on the key , the mixer will play the vco and will do a sort of kick, with the medium note we will have a "snare" with the vco and noise in same time and with the higher note we will have a kind of Hi-Hat.

No effect here, only one take of the synthesizer."

EXPRESSIVE E Touché Update w/ Lié 1.2 Update Featuring Presets for the Moog Sub 37

Uploaded on Sep 13, 2017 Expressive E

"In this series of videos, we explore some of the presets for the Moog Sub 37 that comes with every Touché.

Touché ships with Lié, its companion software. Lié is a host of plug-ins and comes with tailor-made sounds and configurations for a selection of synthesisers, as well as tools to make your own software and hardware presets.

Those hardware presets for Touché are templates that make your experience truly plug-and play with hardware synthesisers from Moog, Dave Smith, Korg, Roland, Nord, Yamaha, Novation, Elektron, Arturia, Waldorf...

For a selection of synths, the hardware presets for Touché are one step further, matching some of their factory presets.

All hardware presets can be saved in Touché's internal memory, in order to use Touché in standalone, without any computer.

More informations about Touché :
More informations about the Sub 37 :"

"The goal of the Expressive E team is to make the whole experience with Touché even more plug-and-play at each update, to make sure that using Touché is both fun and intuitive.

That’s why Expressive E announces Lié v1.2. This version expands the preset library of Touché both for hardware and software synths, in an effort to provide the user new creative options and new ways to explore the capabilities of Touché’s versatile and precise sensitivity.

The update also brings new features to Lié that will ease even more the process of setting up Touché, creating new sounds and playing with the instrument.

Expressive E is making a step further with the hardware presets. The new presets are based on the factory presets from a selection of modern synthesisers, and now feature full parameter mapping instead of just CC renaming, making the experience even more plug-and play than before.

Expressive E is adding new third-party plug-ins to the list of software presets for Touché. Already included were Native Instruments Massive, Prism, and Razor, and Lennar Digital Sylenth1. This update brings new presets for Native Instruments Monark, U-He Diva, Reveal Sound Spire, KV331 Synthmaster, and Arturia Mini V, SEM V and ARP 2600.

Touché and Lié ships with a great number of sounds tailor-made from scratch for Touché. With Lié 1.2 Expressive E adds 50 new presets to the list, all ready to be played out of the box with the bundled player UVI Workstation.

New Features of Lié :

Automatic Firmware Update : Prompts the user to upgrade their firmware if Lié detects that the version of Touché is too old. If the user accepts, the process starts immediately, no need to browse for a file or do anything else.

Manual re-calibration : Touché auto-calibrates itself each time it is powered. With Manual calibration, Touché will re-calibrate each time you press and hold the two buttons at the same time until the LEDs stop blinking.
Improved plug-in scan : Prompts the user to scan for plug-ins if the plug-in list is empty when Lié opens. The scanning process is now much more stable.

Other minor improvements : Cancel button added in the preset modification window, toggle on/off for the preset modification window, and bug-fixes.

Expressive E is planning to release an open beta for the Windows version of Lié. Subscribe to the list of beta-testers to get early access to Lié for Windows, and help Expressive E improve it !

Please note that this Windows version of Lié will only be compatible with Windows 10."

"In this video I pair the Expressive E Touche controller with a eurorack modular. I'm using the 4 CV outputs on the back of the Touche to modulate various parameters like the LFO speed on the Make Noise Maths and the various parameters of the Make Noise Morphagene. I also turn the Touche into a gate generator using Maths.

The basic patch involves a Z3000 oscillator (TipTop Audio) run through the Fold Processor and Z2040 filter. The Z8000 sequencer is run through a Quantizer and everything is controlled by the Make Noise Tempi which triggers the Z8000 and a Z4000 ADSR envelope generator."

ARP 2600 semi-modular vintage analogue synth

via this auction

"Legendary and iconic semi-modular synthesizer; this ARP 2600 is for sale in excellent working order.

Serviced for us by an experienced synth tech. Has had minor components and sliders replaced as needed. It currently is without speakers - we are looking into fitting suitable replacements.

Extensively tested - all features and functions are working as they should (as with much vintage gear some crackle is possible from sliders especially if the unit has not been used for while, but this should clear with use).

Tolex/case has some wear, scuffs and dings; face in very good condition. See the detailed photos for more information."

I will include the old OS chip as well as the OS upgrade manual, the original owners manual, and power supply. This comes from a smoke free studio and is is near mint condition. See photos."

Roland SH 01a INHALT Artist Bank Demo

Published on Sep 22, 2017 INHALTVIDEO

"Download the bank at:

64 patches and 64 sequences that completely take over your SH-01a into INHALT approved territory. We scrutinized every parameter in Roland's new Boutique and tamed the digital nature (when necessary) towards the genuine 101 tone, and played it up when taking advantage of the new features like polyphony. The SH-01a definitely delivers the goods when it comes to those famous flat 101 bass lines but, in the 4 voice polyphonic mode, leads to results that remind us of our beloved Jupiter 4 and Juno 60. That was shocking at first, but with the added fast LFO mode, it lead to the groundwork of the many famous klangy and FM-like Jupiter 4 sounds.

This download kidnaps the Boutique and will overwrite all of the internal factory patches and sequneces but because Roland have made patch dumps super easy to back up (copy to your desktop n done), it's easy to pick and choose what you want loaded on the SH-01a. We've done our best to provide a wide assortment of sounds and sequences that we hope will inspire and lead to finished songs that embody that classic Roland sound. In our studio it definitely has from the moment it got the Tr 808 trigger input ..."

Propellerhead Announces Reason 10

Published on Sep 20, 2017 Propellerhead

And the official press release:

"6 new instruments, 1 effect and over 3GB of samples and loops mark the biggest content update ever for Reason
Stockholm, Sweden, September 22, 2017 – Propellerhead Software today is thrilled to announce Reason 10, the biggest content update ever for Reason owners. Built on an award-winning legacy to make musical dreams a reality, Reason 10 features two massive brand-new synthesizers, three new live-sounding organic instrument devices, a top-notch acoustic piano, creative modulation device, and 3GB of cutting-edge drum loops and samples.

'Great-sounding instruments and effects inspire musicians to create more and better music. With Reason 10, not only have we delivered some of the best-sounding instruments we’ve ever created, the result is the biggest upgrade we've ever done,' said Mattias Häggström Gerdt, Propellerhead Product Manager. 'I'm particularly fond of the new synths, Europa and Grain, that set a new standard for what's available in the box. With the two new synths, a plethora of sampled instruments, drums, loops and much more — we can't wait to hear what music makers are going to create with Reason 10.'

Reason 10 includes two brand-new synthesizers: Europa Shapeshifting Synthesizer and Grain Sample Manipulator. Europa is a dynamically generated wavetable synthesizer with extreme flexibility. Apply a wide range of modulation to the waveform itself, to start with. Add advanced spectral filtering, harmonics processing and even draw your custom waveforms. And the best part: despite its deep synthesis powers, it’s still surprisingly easy to use. Grain opens up the world of granular synthesis for Reason users with immense sonic power and an inviting interface. Drop any sample into Grain and explore the endless sonic variations you can create with Grain’s selection of algorithms, ultra-flexible modulation, routing and effects.

In collaboration with Soundiron, Reason 10 includes three new sampled instrument collections. Klang Tuned Percussion includes 10 high-quality sampled melodic percussion instruments, perfect for spicing up modern pop and electronica. Pangea World Instruments includes 11 world instruments, adding a unique flavor to any genre of music. Humana Vocal Ensemble is a collection of choirs and solo vocals, perfect for a human touch or a bombastic film or game soundtrack.

Reason 10 also now includes Propellerhead’s acclaimed Radical Piano instrument and Synchronous Effect Modulator – previously only available as Rack Extensions via the Propellerhead Shop. Radical Piano is an authentic, flexible, and bendable piano instrument that provides sounds for every situation and every song. Synchronous will bring your music to life. Create quick sidechain effects or draw your own LFO curves to control filter, delay, reverb, distortion and level.

In addition, Reason 10 comes with over 3 GB of sample content in Reason Drum Supply and Reason Loop Supply. These ReFills include a wealth of new drum samples and loops, from vintage drum machines to the sounds of the future.
