Juno Atmos One - Roland Juno 106

Published on Aug 24, 2019 Earmonkey Music

"I have not played my Juno 106 much lately and I figured it was time. The Polyphonic Portamento is fun. Effects are Valhalla delay and reverb. I shot this on my iPad and you can tell that the low end was moving some air in here lol"

Eutelia

"It's been a while. Took some time away from music, although I didn't intend to take this long. I suffered a bit of a creative crises for a while, really not thrilled with my own music. Feeling like I had fallen into ruts, working the same tools in the same manner. I started to worry that I'd drift so far form music making that it would be hard to find my way back, so I decided to just try and learn something new. I focused on learning to use loops with the Deluge. I took the Deluge out of my room (ah, battery powered gear!) in an attempt to steer clear of those ruts.

That was the genesis of this track, using the Deluge to crunch up some drum loops and make variations. The rest flowed organically from that, I built much of the track on the Deluge using internal sounds, and then moved it to the studio to reroute some of those tracks to external gear. I found that just exercising the music muscle in the name of satisfying a curiosity was enough to kickstart inspiration.

Sound sources:
Deluge synth is doing bassline and ethereal pads
Deluge for all beats, processed with internal fx
JP-08 for muted keys/chime-like sounds
Digitone for thin panning pad and occasional bubbly arps
Rings is the arp lead (being fed a modulated BIA), but the Peak also mirrors the same melodic lines for layering
Morphagene is glitching about on a recording of the Rings, this is fed into Magneto for ambiance

Stillson Hammer MkII is running stepped modulation to BIA, Rings, and Morphagene"

Yamaha CS 60 - She is Alive

Published on Jul 31, 2019 Metralon

The playlist above starts with a demo with the description directly below, followed by a number of restoration videos.

"SKIP to 1:49 if the LFO detuning at the beginning of this video is too much.

Very first improvisation after one year of restoration work.

Ok that was a lie: it was my third improv. The first one was utterly magical and was not recorded; at one time the synth spoke to me, I swear! That was a couple of days ago. The second improv happened yesterday and wasn't all that great. So you'll have to do with this third one as a first encounter. In the notes of John Williams: d4-e4-c4-c3-g3.

With due apologies for the length and randomness of the improv; the CS60 universe envelops you and before you know it you're 40 minutes in.

CUE LIST:

00:00 Slow and deep detune
01:49 That's more like it
05:15 Squarelling
07:36 Did you saw that? (terrible pun i know)

Roland EP 20 - high quality demo

Published on Jul 18, 2019 Metralon

"This is a vintage 70s Roland digital piano. Recorded straight into an RME Fireface 800 @24 bit 48 kHz. No effects or plugins were added, bar a Waves L2 limiter on the master bus to keep peaks at bay. The audio was converted to AAC 320 kbps prior to upload.

This instrument was serviced inside and out. The connectors were replaced with a set of brand new Neutrik gold plated 1/4" jacks. All electrolytical capacitors were replaced, the faders were fully dismantled and cleaned, all keys were individually cleansed, and the tolex was scrubbed carefully.

Needless to say: everything works as it should and the sound is crisp and alive.

The synth comes complete with original cover, music stand, all knobs are present, integrated power lead.

NOTE that this is the 220 V / 50~60 Hz model.

Asking price € 490 + shipping.
Will ship safe and secure from Belgium, Europe."

Beyond the Madness

Published on Jun 7, 2019 Metralon

"You are listening to a single patch created on the V-synth GT. This performance is all done live.

Except for a Waves L2 limiter - for IDR and to shave off the highest of peaks (@ 0.2 dB) - there was no processing or editing done. The synth went straight into an RME Fireface 800 at 48kHz, 24 bit."

CLAVIA NORD MODULAR RACK // SOUNDS FOUND IN THE MACHINE // 1

Published on Aug 24, 2019 LESINDES

"Vintage machines are very interesting indeed and not only for their unique sound character, it is also almost always an adventure to review the sound creations or at least compilations of the former user, especially in a synth like CLAVIA NORD MODULAR which still is a nerd machine. Here ar now some of the SOUND I FOUND in the MACHINE I bought last year."

Xaoc Odessa - a bit more experimental approach

Published on Aug 24, 2019 Xaoc Devices

"Here are two more quick patches with Odessa oscillator, one exploring more rhythmic side of our new module and another with a bit more experimental approach. During rhythmic part three outputs are used with independent VCAs and AD envelopes as three drum voices. Sequence is generated with our forthcoming Drezno expander - Jena. Second patch is based on feedback - through zero FM input is fed with fundamental output, only external modulation is slow sine changing density parameter."
