FVS vs reSEMble Nov 2023

"Another demo of the PM Foundations reSEMble, four of them (https://www.tindie.com/stores/pmfound....) This time, I've duplicated a patch on the FVS and the reSEMbles. I was going to do a dry video but figured I'd do a little tune. At the beginning you can see my left hand playing the FVS while the right hand plays the reSEMbles, and since they alternate for a brief time, you can compare the two instruments. Together they sound amazing! I imagine this is what it's like to play a dual manual eight voice. There are also some ARPs, a Rhodes, a Kurzweil K2600XS, and an Alesis SR16 adding support."

This week's Tech Thursday is all about Filter 8's hold feature. When you enable the hold switch, Filter 8 'freezes' its filter core.
This can be gate controlled using the hold input. Turn the hold modulation up to the audio range and you'll get sync-like effects. The hold input features Schmitt action, meaning it can be driven by just about any signal you can throw at it.

"The Haken Continuum Fingerboard as a Midi controller for an Waldorf Kyra synthesizers. This Continuum is a an old Midi only version. The sensitivity is not so good as the new ones.
The Waldorf Kyra is perfect in combination with the Haken because it updates all voices/multitimbral channels simultaneously while changing parameters. It has no MPE, but it is 8 channel multitimbral and so you can use it with every MPE controller. Only drawback, there are no global controllers (like modulationwheel), but with the Haken i don’t need them.
The pitchbend on the Kyra has only a range of 1 octave, which is not much, but for my use, it's enough. No external effects are used.

"'Dark Duos' is a collection of 64 Patches for Moog Subsequent 37 and Sub 37. The bank of presets is dedicated to dark, noisy, lo-fi, vintage/retro pads, drones, and textures. All presets are in DUO mode, providing an opportunity to create the illusion of a chord.
The bank comprises 44 pads/drones and 20 rhythmical pads. The rhythmical pads introduce groove with LFOs that are synchronized to the tempo.

The soundset is suitable for many genres of electronic music: Techno, Industrial, House, Acid, Hardcore, IDM, Drum'n'Bass, Breaks, Breakbeat, Electro, Ambient (including Dark, Noise, Drone), Dubstep, EDM, and others.
ModWheel is set in all patches, it adds movement or changes the tone.
Velocity controls volume and brightness.
Patches' volume levels are set close to each other, you won't get sudden volume spikes or drops while switching the timbres.
The presets should be uploaded via official Moog Editor/Librarian. You should put the folder with the presets to:
Mac - /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Moog Music Inc.
Windows - C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Moog Music Inc\Sub 37\Presets Library\Moog Music
Make sure you are using the latest firmware version.
The soundset doesn't include drums from the video demo."
